Would definitely not recommend

Would definitely not recommend. My family had trusted this local firm for years, through various house moves and conveyancing, wills and codicils and more recently powers of attorney. Following the death of my mother, I appointed them to act on my behalf to undertake probate as joint executor with myself. As a result I have experienced an extremely long list of particularly poor service, poor communication, tardiness, inaccurate reports, mistakes including requesting a copy of my fathers death certificate (who is still very much alive), incorrect dates of death on my late mothers final accounts, and not following their own complaints policy & procedure. I have had to chase them the whole way through this process. I will never use them again.

Opportunism?

This firm was recommended to me in order to remedy a simple but obvious omission made during a property purchase by another local firm. Barton’s estimated a fee of between X and Y, but insisted on Y plus VAT upfront before starting work. I was since advised elsewhere that the bulk of the work they suggested is unnecessary.

Avoid

In a word useless since Claire left.
Our property sale was given to Laura Williams after Claire left with no discussion with us.
Do not understand Power of Attorney in our opinion.
Do not have any idea of providing customer service level.
So disorganised from our experience. Forever needing chasing from our experiences. Will not use again for property sales and purchases again. V Poor . We have a lot of experiences with solicitors and conveyancers over 40 years .....
