The Basketball Ireland website is rather terrible
The Basketball Ireland website is extremely difficult to operate.
When trying to register my child, the system asks for a child’s email address and mobile number, which is not appropriate for young children.
I understand being asked for gender, but the form then asks what gender the child is identifying with, including transgender options. This is not suitable for a 9‑year‑old child and feels unnecessary for basic sports registration.
In addition, finding the correct club is extremely challenging, even for someone with an IT background. The search function — despite having an icon suggesting it uses AI — performs very poorly and feels like something from before the Google era. It does not help users locate clubs or complete registration.
Overall, the registration process is confusing, overly complicated, and not user‑friendly for parents trying to sign up their children for basketball.
