First and last time using Batenburgs
First time using this company. I normally use My Goodness Gifts but thought I would try Batenburgs. I ordered a food hamper for a close relatives wedding for the couple to enjoy on their honeymoon. So embarrassed and appalled to find out from the bride that 2 of the items were past their expiry dates. One had expired 8 months ago!
Batenburgs apologised and said someone helping out had used items from expired stock. Why are they even keeping expired goods anyway? Said they would give a refund. Was expecting something generous because it is a health safety issue and was for a wedding, but got a paltry $31 credited,

Hi Donna, again we are so sorry this happened. We are going through a difficult time in our personal lives and our kindly receiving help from a family friend who wasn't fully aware of the situation with our expired stock, but yes that is our fault for not properly briefing him. We keep the expired goods as they are usually still edible, and we don't want it going to waste so we give it away, but 8 months is understandingly appalling on our behalf. I processed it for a full refund, but it hasn't been fully accepted so I could manually verify it now but I think this has been settled with the one star review. Apologies, Batenburgs.
