The BDA stepped in and helped me through an incredibly difficult time whilst pregnant, I will forever be grateful for the service. In particular the work of Alun McLean.
He would constantly check in and I felt very supported.

I have received support from Chris Burns from BDA for which I am truly grateful. Chris Burns has spent a huge amount of his time, efforts and has given 100% in helping me through a very complex & difficult process. Chris is highly professional, well experienced and very knowledgeable. I have been a member of BDA for over 20 years. I highly recommend BDA membership to all dental professionals. And I must say BDA and its members are lucky to have Chris Burns. An asset to the BDA.

I asked the BDA for advice on a particular matter and the responses I received were not particularly timely or helpful. I shared some constructive feedback, which didn't seem to be taken on board, and again communication from the BDA was poor and I had to repeatedly push for agreed actions to be completed. Unfortunately I cannot recommend the BDA because my experience was not great.
Excellent service from the BDA in helping me uncouple from a very difficult salaried post. Excellent communication, morale boosting and legal advice. I am SO glad I was a member. Every dentist should join, they really have your back.

A big thank you to Chris Burns ERO for all your support to myself as AR and to all the BDA members in my organisation, for your reassuring advice and for helping us through a difficult and stressful time at work recently. Thank you

I can not rate Thomas Oxton or James Goldman of the BDA highly enough. They were professional, compassionate and had such an eye for detail. Thank you for dealing with my case. Our case made it to Scottish Legal News and my trainee solicitor son was very impressed to read about us.

I just want to say an enormous thankyou to the BDA, specifically Linda Dunlop and Chris Burns who's tireless efforts have helped me through an exceptionally difficult period. I've never experienced that feeling of complete helplessness before, I was so scared for my family, and they both came my rescue and carried me. I could not have been better supported, having them in my corner has meant the world.
They are real life hero's,
Thankyou, for everything,

I have spoken with Micheal Fenton a few times over the last few years and the compassion and support I have been met with is fantastic. On several occasions he has spoken with me at length to help me with issues I may have. The rest of the team have also been fantastic and responded promptly and been supportive as I navigate dentistry in the UK. A real asset to the profession.

Spoke to Mr Michael Fenton two days ago who contacted me very soon after my request to speak to an advisor. He spent over 75 mins to listen very patiently to my concerns and was very helpful , professional and fair without any assumptions or judgement. He advised me what to do in writing quite promptly. Even though the outcome is yet unknown for me but it was absolutely reassuring to speak to an experienced advisor in BDA. I highly recommend BDA membership for all dental professionals. Thank you

In the last 4 months my BDA representative has been outstanding in helping me with work related stress issues in my job as a Community Dental Officer. He has been available for advice and support at all times . His professional, caring and honest support has been so valuable in my long term sickness, I would never have got through it without him.
I had never thought I would need the BDA and only become a member recently because of the trouble I was having at work. I will be a lifelong member from now on and highly recommend every dentist to become a member.
Thank you so much you have made such a difference to me.

I’ve been a member for the BDA since graduation. Since that time they have always been there to support me when I have needed advice. The are friendly, professional and fair. I’ve only recently switched to their Insurance, but I’m so glad I did. Now I have everything in one place and their support is guaranteed.

the experience to have the insurance was very efficient, quick and the staff very professional

The BDA led me through an unfair dismissal tribunal. They were caring, understanding, always had time for my questions and by the end of the countless emails, telephone conversations, and the tribunal itself, almost felt like friends. Although we didn’t win the case I felt totally supported and was very grateful to everyone involved. Although I can’t describe it as a great experience to go through, everyone I dealt with at the BDA were very knowledgeable, professional and in my eyes wonderful and I am very thankful to them.

I have been a member of the BDA all my working life, but have used their services more frequently in the last few years when I was diagnosed with a long term health condition working in the community dental service. I have had excellent advice, support and guidance from my representative. I felt like she fought my corner, in ensuring my employers made reasonable adjustments to ensure I could keep working as long as possible, and most importantly she also provided great emotional and psychological support, throughout my time at work and also through the process of ill health retirement. I cannot thank her, and the BDA enough.

Switching to the indemnity cover of the BDA is a decision that I strongly recommend to every dentist who wants to be in the safest, most genuinely dedicated and professional hands. I joined the BDA indemnity and was helped by the dento-legal team in an issue that was unfairly initiated by my previous insurer, a so called “claims based insurer”.
For every dentist who is interested in an indemnity that complies with the GDC regulations and simultaneously puts the dentists and patients interest in the focus, an insurer who offers an “occurrence based cover” and NOT an insurer that is alone interested in collecting their premiums under any circumstances putting the dentist and the public in risk, I strongly recommend the BDA indemnity.
Moreover, the BDA team represented me in the mentioned subject regardless as when I joined their indemnity, a clear indication to their dedication and interest to improve the practicing environment of dentists.

BDA Live updates has been 'my go to' every week. Every Monday I will go through all the live updates and it has kept me up to date with all the new and many developments in dentistry. Am loving the Good Practice newsletters too. Well done to all at The BDA and thank you.

I had a major problem with Pension issues and felt I had no one to turn to for help .
I ,more in hope than expectation ,contacted the BDA about the issues .
They immediately put me through to the pension specialist, she was very knowledgeable, very supportive and guided me through the different issues I encountered over the number of months it took to resolve the problems.
Great service on the one occasion I really needed it.

Recently joined the BDA for indemnity and I wish I’d done it sooner! Loads of great cpd courses, access to so many journals and books but best of all support if you need it and they seem to always work with the dentist in mind. Definitely recommend!

BDA have been an excellent support for me this last year :
- loads of help for staff related questions on furlough, maternity and up to date advice and support
- they took a petition forward with GDC for better regulation of annual retention fee.
- really appreciate the templates for policies. Makes practice admin so much easier
We need to keep supporting our BDA.
