Our Stores
Beattys has two separate locations in Loughrea, Co. Galway. The Station Road premises is a fully stocked builders’ merchant with plumbing, bathroom, timber flooring, and hire departments as well as a complete range of agricultural feeds and fertiliser. The Main Street/Church Street premises is a 15,000 square feet retail outlet stocking an extensive range in each of the following departments: housewares, interior furnishing, electrical, DIY, toys, paint, and gardening. To ensure we have the best prices possible, we are part of 3 buying groups, Topline hardware, Euronics Electrical, and Toymaster. We endeavor to stock many interesting and unique products, especially in the housewares and interior furnishing departments. If you’re looking for something different, we have it.
Local Community
We show our appreciation to the Loughrea community for this ongoing support by engaging in fundraising efforts, and we regularly host fun events for our customers. In 2013 we organised a Shave or Dye event where 35 people either shaved off or dyed their hair on the night in Beattys, raising more than €10,000 for the Irish Cancer Society.

Christmas is a busy time so I didn’t expect next day delivery. However, a few updates would have been helpful. Nothing until it arrived . Had to go trawling through my many emails to remember who you were and what I’d purchased. Had I had an update it would have saved a lot of anxiety and time. Every other company manages it, why can’t you?

Our records show that an order confirmation was sent at 9:04 am on the day of purchase, followed by a shipping email with your An Post tracking number at 1:33 pm that same afternoon. It is possible these automated updates were diverted to your spam or junk folder, which can sometimes happen during the busy holiday period.
We are glad the package reached you by December 4th—a 4-day turnaround during the Christmas rush—but we regret the anxiety the missing notifications caused you. We appreciate your business and will continue to look for ways to ensure our emails reach our customers' primary inboxes.

Would recommend. Straight forward transaction. Child's bike I ordered however was delivered to the wrong address and left sitting on the doorstep, but this would be a courier issue. I'm lucky to have gotten it through local social media. I will order from Beatty's again however, as you can get good offers and quality products with fast delivery.

I held off from giving this review for…
I held off from giving this review for some time as I was feeling a bit sickened by the botched order and the diabolical delivery by K&L. There were 2 things wrong. Firstly, I very deliberately ordered 10kg bags of salt from.Beatty's. The reason I ordered from Beatty's in the first place was because they stocked the 10kg bags and, unfortunately, for me, I'm unable to manage anything larger. The salt was at an ok price and the website said nationwide delivery. What could go wrong? Well, firstly the order came as 20kg bags, without notice. The delivery came via K&L and the guy was outside the door when he rang me. He wouldn't bring it through the house as I have done with deliveries previously. I wanted the salt in a particular place, outside my back door. I have a large dry box.to store it in so it's get-at-able and also it's near to my salt filter. As I'm very poorly able to lift anything weighty, this would have been ideal. It all went wrong from there! I told the delivery guy to come around to my path where I would open the gate for him to deliver to the back yard. He wasn't delighted with this and was muttering that they only 'do kerbside' delivery. I have absolutely no way of managing a kerbside delivery and I can't be alone in that I imagine. He reluctantly brought the delivery in the path and started to unload the bags against my garden shed. I said that wouldn't do as I need access to the shed. With much annoyance visible, he banged the bags into the rear of my shed, once I removed the lawnmower and a few bits. I asked the man politely, how the deliveries to elderly and feeble folk in poor health is managed. He just shrugged and I suggested that this isn't considered and that he didn't give a 'flying f..k'. He agreed with me that he didn't!! I told him that, eventually, everyone gets old, even himself will succumb to old age and' karma is a b...h' I don't usually resort to such language but I have a debilitating condition which greatly reduces my ability to manage heavy lifting and indeed it removes it entirely at times. I felt that this delivery guy was in the wrong job entirely. He was without common sense or empathy of any kind. My immoveable 20kg bags of salt are now wedged in the rear of my shed, other things in front of them, which have to be removed every time I need to access the salt. I have to try to stand a bag upright, slit the top of it and scoop some of the contents into a plastic pan, to ultimately put into the filter across the yard, panful by panful, until the filter is full. Doable, but a bit of a palaver. Will I be using either company again to procure a product or deliver one? No, not if I can help it. Sorry Beatty's, I have to be honest here. Just didn't suit me.
