After thieves unsuccessfully attempted to rob me of whatever money was in my Belco Account, I contacted Belco customer service.
The rep. recommended that I cancel my card and have a new one reissued. The card was cancelled, but when I went to the local branch for a new card, the teller stated that 'all' branches were unable to replace debit cards at this time. She stated that there was a problem with the company that prints their cards and they had no idea when it would be possible to replace a card.
This meant that for an undetermined amount of time I would have no access to ATM's, as well as no ability to use my current card. In addition any online subscriptions or bills connected to this card would fail.
This was unacceptable and no one was informed at any time that this problem was occurring and that lost, stolen, or fraudulently used cards, were indefinitely irreplaceable. This is extremely poor service and poor communication resulting in extreme inconveniences on the part of account holders.
