it just seems that no matter how many complaints are raised the standards still remain so poor. Waited again for luggage to come off flight yesterday - it took over 50 minutes in the middle of the day... See more

Belfast flights always late
Flights always late to Newcastle . Fly monthly. Leaving Newcastle always on time , leaving Belfast 4 times in a row late . As a single traveller trying to order food , keep your table is tough . Lagans bar wear t shirts saying order from your phone , you can’t . Security going mad because I left my bag on my table , I could see it and waved it’s mine but he was still a plonker . People on next table knew I went to order food but still was been a anorak . I understand security in airports so make it easy for single travellers having to drag your luggage/bags to the bar and lose your table .
Thank in advance for replying
Where to start
Where to start, this airport is a shambles in every way, security is an absolute joke, people missing flights due to lackadaisical staff, people standing about nobody on the x ray machine hence bags backing up, a 3rd world country airport, an embarrassment
Dreadful
Dreadful. Filthy, oozes lethargy and mediocrity from check in to dismal and litter strewn main concourse.
Used to be an excellent airport however currently must rate as worst in Europe - avoid and trave via the City airport if you can.
Had an awful experience when our plane…
Had an awful experience when our plane landed in Belfast international airport and the captain comes on the speaker to tell us there is no ground staff to let us off the plane (never experienced this before). About 45mins later there was staff to let us off the plane. When we finally got through to baggage claim we again were waiting around 45 mins to get our bags. From landing to actually getting our bags and leaving the airport was the guts of 2 hours. Completely unacceptable and a total contrast to every other airport I’ve been to in Europe. When we landed in Greece we were off the plane and in our taxi in about 30 mins. Completely embarrassing for this be a first welcome to any tourists visiting NI ! Oh and anyone picking you up can pay £3 for the experience
Incompetence of staff led to dangerous and lengthy queues.
Long queues at security made twice as long by “queue management” staff adding extra queues. Held like cattle at the gate to the plane with the door locked and all passengers squeezed into the stairwell as it got hotter and hotter with no staff in sight as elderly and children were struggling. Accident waiting to happen.
Pathetic!
Pathetic! Second time in few weeks waiting in baggage reclaim for over 40 mins. There can be no excuse for this other than not enough staff or an airport that is poorly run. Either way, customers suffer!!!
What a dirty place
What a dirty place, went to go into cafe opposite Aelia duty free and promptly walked out after seeing how dirty the floor was including half eaten food thrown on floor (still there after 30mins) Tables not cleaned - just what I have expected place to be as a fairly regular flier. Also, ATM's charge £2.50 for the privilege of accessing your own cash - rip off Belfast International Airport - 3rd world standards. I would love to include a photo but there is no option to attach one!
Belfast International airport, a good reason to travel by boat …
As I write this I’ve spent over an hour in a very lengthy queue at security. The reason for the queue wasn’t the amount of people, but rather the fact that they only had 2 of the six lanes open and one of those was for priority passengers. The word omnishambles was made for the farcical nature of this operation.
You then get through to find your flight is delayed by 90 minutes and the Starbucks cafe has next to no free seats, lots of dirty tables and the water bottles are luke warm and no, they don’t have any ice.
This has been the very definition of a Mickey Mouse travel experience, if not third world travel it can certainly take pride of place in the second world category.

Security is a joke always long queues rude security staff who look like they’ve done a 24 hour shift need to send them to Edinburgh airport security to see how security should be done !!!! Worst airport on the planet !!!!

Obligatory £3.00 just to drive past the joint?
Robber barons or what.
Never fails to disappoint
Never fails to disappoint. Hate the fact that we have travel out of here. Overpriced, dirty and the security staff must do special training to be exceptionally rude and snappy. Flew out of Dublin a few months back and a completely different experience.
A microcosm of all things norn iron
A microcosm of all things norn iron. Over-exaggerated, over stated and no more international than norn iron is a"country" or Belfast a "capital city". 2 airports for a town the size of Hull. this one by far the worst, tacky, outdated, disgusting and in truth, a fair representation of all things "norn iron" The day Easyjet pull out of this hole there'll be no flights left !!! Mickey mouse airport for a mickey mouse corner of Ireland. Airport full of drunks, bigots and slot machines , AVOID !!! Use Dublin Airport - a real international airport, sheer quality compared to this figment of unionists warped imagination -- international my a--e hole
Joke airport
Only plus point was security. The staff in the priority lane where professional and very polite. Toilets discussing, food hall is joke, burger king was a mess, rubbish everywhere and the food was overpriced and shameful. Good luck trying to find a seat.
The baggage area is a disgrace
The baggage area is a disgrace. You get back from your holiday in a good mood & then have to wait 1 hour for the baggage belt to start. It's a bad end to your holiday. I should be use to this at Belfast Airport but everytime I leave furious.
Embarrassingly dirty and overpriced
I think the price rise of 300% for pick up zone is the cherry on the cake for this dreadful place. Absolutely filthy!
THE WORLD'S WORST AIRPORT
Our Jet2 flight, LS306, from Faro 0n 1 July 2023, arrived into BFS at 13:55. The aircraft was parked at the remotest stand on the international apron. There was a long walk through an antiquated tunnel passage way before climbing some concrete steps to join passengers from another two arriving flights into the queue to passport control where there were only four Border Force personnel in attendance. That would have been almost 600 passengers to be scrutinised by four personnel.
Having eventually got through passport control, we arrived at the building housing the baggage belt conveyors. At first, only one of the two belt conveyors was in operation. After a long wait I picked up the first of our two suitcases. I waited for the second one but it didn’t appear. In fact, the belt conveyor had no more baggage on it. Then I heard the second belt start up and found my other suitcase on it. What a service. We left the airport building exactly one hour after arriving on stand.
This airport is a disgrace and an embarrassment to the country and certainly a poor image to any tourist or visitor arriving in Northern Ireland. The so called international section of the airport needs to be demolished and rebuilt and a much improved management introduced.
Absolutely awful airport service
Absolutely awful airport service, dirty service areas and slow security lines as staff seem to be very slow. Parking service awful paid £50 plus to have the gate not recognise the license plate, waited 5 minutes for someone to answer the “help service”, not even an apology or anything. The prices of the airport have skyrocketed while the quality of service has plummeted.
They couldn’t even open the door to let…
They couldn’t even open the door to let us out to our waiting plane….
Then we were told that the air traffic control were under staffed and needed a break so it’s a 45minute delay on top of the time waiting for the door to be opened
SHAMBLES!!!!!
Avoid airport taxi
Poor choice of food and stores, no place to sit usually and today I had to wait 45 min for a taxi ride to my hotel.
The whole place is in dire need of upgrading.
Disgraceful airport
Travelled through the airport on my holidays last week and noticed security had been improved. Did not have to wait too long to get through however once we entered the departure lounge there was nowhere to sit.
Obviously this airport cannot cater for the amount of people travelling through. Long queues at all bars and restaurants.
This airport is supposed to be an international airport however they seem to not be able to deal with 2 aircraft on the ground at one time.
Landed back into BFS this morning at 02.35 hours and only received baggage at 03.45 hours. This is unacceptable for an international airport. No announcement or reasons given for the wait. An update from airport operations may have helped given the amount of very young children crying due to tiredness.
Walking towards the passport control in arrivals is so dated and dirty, with rusty old seats which you certainly would not want to sit on and dirty carpet.
Hardly a good 1st impression for any tourists arriving into the 'international'airport from anywhere else in the world.
