Very welcoming staff

I travel through Belfast international at least 6 times annually.
I have always found it excellent.

Rank

If you're flight is delayed past 2330, you're basically screwed. You need to pay £70 to a cabbie off the meter and the airport management doesn't understand that reflects badly on their airport.

If I could leave 0 star I would

If I could leave 0 star I would. It’s the cheapest mankiest airport in the UK. Absolutely scandalous the owners promised an amazing refurb - now it’s like a second hand ikea store. Deeply depressing place to be.

I was in the queue through security on…

I was in the queue through security on Sat 9th November- it was a shambles only 2 security lanes open - unhelpful staff - so many people missing or on the verge of missing flights- it was thee most stressful situation!!!….. An airport that facilitates flights but cannot process the passengers is not fit for purpose!!
Unfortunately looking back at the comments on this site- nothing has changed over past few months- this is an ongoing problem- so the apologies about staff shortages is just lies!
It will be a very long time before we put ourselves through such a stressful situation!
How can they call themselves an ‘International Airport’….. embarrassing!!

it is a sad place on many levels

Having Dublin Airport which operates at its full capacity just two hours drive from Belfast should normally be a dream opportunity for an other international airport close by to expand its destinations list, flight frequency, attract new passengers (including the ones from NI who have no option now but to travel from Dublin).
But not for BFS ... Management at Belfast International Airport just does not see it as a chance, they seem to be happy with the existing domestic flights and just a few international ones once or twice a week.
Their it is as it is and why bother attitude seem to apply to basically everything at this airport and everyone can clearly see it from the moment of crossing the airport doors.
Its happening for so many years now that I doubt anything will change anytime soon ... unless someone competent will take over the management of this airport.

Absolute disgrace!

Do the management of this airport not take into consideration or even read the customer reviews? This is an appalling airport and an absolute disgrace to N. Ireland. Yet nothing ever changes! The customer always suffer.

Worst airport in the UK

If I could rate it less than one I would. This is the worst airport in the UK. Security queue right back to the door on a Sunday morning in the off season. Why do they even have six security lanes and six new scanners if they only ever use two? Baggage reclaim is absolutely shocking. You will be waiting on your bags for over an hour while other people’s bags (who aren’t even through passport control) sit there taking up the whole carousel (again only two). This airport has a serious operations management problem, chronically short staffed, and clearly underpaid, overworked staff.

Shambles of an airport

Shambles of an airport
Parking over priced and a long walk in rain to building
Bag drop for easy jet is not bag drop. They have one member of staff at a desk and you queue for an hour just like an old check in desk. So not bag drop at all like any other airport or airline
New scanners, great one open!!
Security staff are poorly trained, rude and bad mannered
Facilities limited over priced and entire airport is dirty
Compared to Belfast City or Dublin airport this place is an embarrassment
Avoid if at all possible

On arrival fron our holiday the baggage…

On arrival fron our holiday the baggage collection was an absolute embarrassment. It was 1am and bearly any staff to sort bags out. Over an hour wait with no where to sit, zero communication. The airport has really let itself down. I avoid International like the plague as I never have a smooth transition through the place.

Absolutely abysmal

Absolutely abysmal. For a flight 18/10/24 , a 40min security wait. No passenger sifting to assist those late for flights . An array of new baggage scanners but only 2 staffed. One server in Sip&Stone for both till and coffee.
Medieval.

Sleepover at cabin check in

I had to wait in Cabin check in for an hour on my connecting bus. Why is there bodies lying everywhere? I am a young girl and there is no police or security, I felt intimidated as all these men’s eyes followed me. Awful feeling

Affectionately known as 'The Shed'

Affectionately known as 'The Shed', this place is a throwback to something from eastern Europe in the 80's.
Security queues are joke, things that would take minutes in a modern airport take an age.
On landing one is greeted by a long wait at the back of the shed to get past passport control, only to find that the baggage still hasn't arrived. Meanwhile the aroma of urine gently wafts over the building during the wait.
The toilets don't flush and are coated with human filth, the floors a skating rink of stale urine.
I've been in dozens of airports around the world but this place is unique. Fevereiro International in Angola is cleaner and more efficient.

Awful airport

Awful airport, dirty tables, dirty toilets.
£2.50 to withdraw cash at the atm. What about people who need cash to pay for a bus or taxi and only have the right amount of money to pay for there travel, its absoulute robbery ive never seen anything like this in any other country. Then....to charge 70 pence for a bag, absolute cheek.
I live in London, embarresed to come through the international airport of my home country and to bring friends through it....MP'S need to wake up and sort it, its so embarressing
