I would avoid this company at all cost

I would avoid this company at all cost. They operate on various names and are owned by an insurance company. They prey on people who have no idea what repair costs are like. Charge you an exorbitant fee for a diagnostic service with no solution. You would pay 150 for them to tell you they can't fix it.

Avoid at all cost, probably going to scam you

I just bought an apartment recently in the city and moved in not too long ago. I realised that the extractor fan is sort of broken as it is kinda old. Probably over 10 years ago. I am not from here and therefore do not have any local electrician contacts.

I went on the website which is apparently a trading business of go-assist.co.uk based in England. My intention was to either get it repaired or fixed. Paid 150GBP on the website ( my mistake) and a fella locally contacted me asking for the model number of the extractor hood a week later.

He came round a week later to my house and looked at the hood and said this model has no replacement parts available as he already looked it up a few nights before and therefore it is beyond economical repair. Asked me to contact the company to buy a new hood and pay another repairman to install it. I just felt like i've been scammed big time. I knew it was broken and he knew there were no parts available. Why come to my place to tell me that ? I'm probably not going to get my money back but I would like to raise awareness about this company so that people do not fall prey to their scam.
