I'd prefer if you applied any discounts when you offer me next year's renewal price instead of doing this dance every year. Apart from that, I've never had to claim, so I have no experience with how t... See more

Misleading and harassing
Cancelled my policy prior to renewal with all payments paid up as per my payment schedule on my account section.
Few weeks pass and I receive an email from a debt collector asking for a payment of unpaid policy with bell.
I wasn’t informed once that I owed them any more money so seems like they just make it up and want to get as much money as they can from you.
I wouldn’t trust them and won’t be using admiral or bell for any future insurance!
thieves robbed me
i had insurance with them and when i compar i realized they were expensive any how i kept my insurance with them i changed my address and went just 2.8 miles further where i lived before they charge me 170 percent extra premium i was paying 126 per month and as soon as i moved address they start collecting 218 pounds which was way too much even thought i had 13 year protected no claim and never had any convistion had the license for past18 years
only because its a japanese import they charge me extra
thank GOD its only one month left i will never advice any of my frineds and family to use bell any incusrances always double check on comparison websites before taking any insurances
Did not refund my insurance
I cancelled my policy due to selling my car, which cost £55 to cancel. The card I initially paid on was lost, and therefore I had a new card. Their policy states that they must refund the remaining amount of the insurance to the card paid. So I had to have that amount refunded to a card that didn't exist, and therefore I did not receive my refund.
My experience with Bell have been…
My experience with Bell have been absolutely terrific! The customer service lady Vicki was absolutely fabulous and dealt with my query amazingly. Couldn’t recommend them enough and haven’t had a single problem with them whatsoever.
Long delays in sending payments
Delays in sending payments. Will accept your complaint, offer compensation and then avoid paying it for months. Staffs attitude is often framing you chasing money you were promised as unreasonable for you to contact them after the date they said they would pay you. Unapologetic during all of this. Three months later and I’m still chasing for the money. No one answers emails. Calls are always blocked from being escalated to anyone in authority and then the same promises are made by customer service reps which are then broken. I would not trust this company to do anything in a reasonable time scale.
they never cancel
they never cancel, four months later i am living in uk and they are still billing me for $1 a month and they promise to stop but they dont
Great service, covered everything with no dispute
I gather I'm in the minority here, but I had an unequivocally great experience with Bell. Our car (a 2019 Jaguar XF Estate) was stolen in October and they were absolutely amazing throughout. Followed up promptly without being overbearing, never disputed any of the claims, paid out quickly and even covered a few things we had inside that we didn't have receipts for.
I was genuinely confused, because I expect insurance companies to be basically evil, but these guys went above and beyond any expectations I might've had. Absolute stars.
If you're comfortable with having a tracker fitted to your car for three months to assess your driving and provide input to your premium and coverage, I'd highly recommend them!
Missed Renewal - Oh No !
Missed renewal and the insurance doubled. Only spotted in on the Bank statement. We then tried to cancel. Good news the agent said they are hassle free.
Bad news is wasn't hassle free...... The cancellation fee was £60 double usual costs.
All insurance in my experience try and make money out of renewals but understanding some people miss the email or it goes in spam It is just short termism and doesn't breed any kind of loyalty. Shristi the advisor was pleasant but couldn't help a poor situation. You get what you pay for ...
When trying to cancel your insurance
When trying to cancel your insurance, they make life extremely difficult, asking for proof of sale (like you’d ride around uninsured) and then pass you through to many different operators who ‘accidentally’ cut you off. £60 to cancel. I would avoid again in the future. Customer service is extremely poor. This is my fourth attempt to cancel and call handlers are not well trained to deal effectively with customers.

Awful experience with this company
Awful experience with this company. You are treated as a villain not a customer that they support or help. They have been incredibly unhelpful - pushed me into making claims when I've just wanted to chat about my policy, and randomly requested the box back and then said that they're going to charge me an extra £50, even though it's been received by the company.
They have called me constantly even though I have requested to be contacted by email as my job doesn't allow me to answer calls during work times as I am in meetings and speaking to customers. I will put todays date here but this experience has been going on for 3 months at least with them. Horrible. I actually feel bullied.
I would avoid this company
I would avoid this company! The service we have received for my son has been awful. He received a black box that never worked in his car. They ignored emails from us, communicating with them was impossible due to poor lines. They put my sons car insurance up hugely even though we tried to explain that the box was faulty. They also tried to charge us £65 to cancel our policy even though the policy was not as stated. They then cut us off on the phone when we were trying to settle the final payment. So unhelpful and so rude. Avoid.
Absolute nightmare
I've been with them for 1 year.
I had to make a claim shortly after getting my car. Making the claim was easy, anything else was a nightmare.
Any communication with them is either by live chat, available only during working hours and half day on weekends. This was not working when I needed it. Not even available on mobile. In alternative, you can call. Calls usually transfer you through 2-3 people, and each of them asks you for your details. Yes, I learned my policy number by heart after repeating it a hundred times.
My car was damaged and flagged as "not suitable to drive" from Bell itself. I was entitled to a courtesy car. How do you get that? Call. I get transferred to the garage after like 30 min on the phone (the average length of time to get 1 thing done). The garage said the pickup was scheduled for Friday (it was Monday). They were expecting me to do what exactly with no car for a whole week? After insisting, I got it picked up on Wednesday.
The garage wasn't instructed to give me a courtesy car though. So no car for a whole week. Several calls to get it. Got the car after the garage confirmed my car was damaged (the next week).
The car had been stuck at the garage for a month, then one day the garage called me to ask if they could proceed with repairs because apparently the insurance had not instructed them to repair the car. Call the insurance, again. Repairs stuck for a month for absolutely no reason. I had to change courtesy car 2 times, for a total of 3 courtesy cars before getting my cars back more than 3 months later.
I've spent countless hours (at least 15, probably 20) on the phone for one reason or another with no other options of contact. I've spent more than 100£+ on public transport while entitled to a courtesy car.
Today I chatted with them to cancel my renewal. You can't just cancel it online, you need to contact them. They bumped up the price by 200£. I went through live chat, and it crashed. Had to relog a couple of times to have it work. They reduced the price by 150£ without any additional info, just based on my threat of leaving. I left anyway because I believe an honest business gives me the best price straight away.
Avoid at all cost bad customer service
I had car insurance with Bell and what a nightmare.
I tried to cancel my policy with Letters, Emails, and also there rubbish online chat system. However they state they have never received anything from myself and have now sent me to a collections department as they say i owe them 2 months insurance.
My daughters first car insurance with…
My daughters first car insurance with telematics. Went well so Bell asked for her to return unit, which she did. Two years later we start getting letters asking us to return the unit? We explain several times it was returned at their request a long time ago. Deaf ears. They want proof of postage. We explain again. Now charged £50 for unit we returned.
Needed to amend policy to include business use. Paid extra to do so. Two weeks later policy not amended meaning loss of expenses for work.
Avoid
Avoid! Two years no claims bonus and my car insurance has almost doubled. Don't think so Bell!
Best car insurance company I have ever…
Best car insurance company I have ever used so far. Bell has very good online system, easy to find all docs in one place and very convenient to transfer policy from one car to another car. Highly recommend .
Nightmare
Nightmare! I had what it seems like an obvious case of the other driver being at fault: hitting me in the back from a side road. I submitted all the info and the details of the other driver and their insurance and waited for the resolution. 4.5 months later and still zero real action on my claim, allegedly it is 'with solicitors', but it seems like they haven't even reached out to the insurer of the driver at fault (which they admitted 2.5 months ago). Due to ongoing claim I couldn't replace them with a different insurer for a reasonable price and had to pay £600 excess to get my car fixed. Avoid them!
Scam and despicable service
My daughter took a young drivers insurance with a black box and like many of the reviews I read here seems to have scammed out of money.
The black box seemingly didn't provide any signal to Bell despite the fact it was plugged in correctly. They simply moved her to a regular insurance and double the price, with a staggering £850 extra to pay. They didn't want to send a new black box and cornered her to 2 choices all costing substantially more money. It is a disgrace and many young drivers are victims of. We are writing a letter of complaint to Bell and will escalate it to the Ombudsman if required. This money making scheme is despicable and touches so many lives that already find it so difficult nowadays in this harrowing economic climate.
Avoid at all cost
Avoid at all cost there scoring system is the worst system I've ever seen.
Penalized for the time of day I drive? Sorry i dont work a 9 til 5.
