I have had the misfortune to deal with Better Housing Better Health. A misnomer in every sense. They have been deliberately obstructive in every way possible in administrating a grant for an air source heat pump delaying it at every turn. I have been left with no choice but to replace a gas boiler with a new one. I am left wondering what exactly is their agenda. It certainly is not to help people in need.

I worked for this company as they contacted myself 15 to 17 months ago and worked as a hca in daventry hospital the hospital and staff were great and agency betterhealthcare said we are not doing work for the NHS anymore and the agency betterhealthcare is quite away from were I live and had no work at all just after Christmas and had not worked for 2 weeks before hand over Christmas as the NHS hospital do not have agency hca working over Christmas witch is fair enough so was hoping to go back after Christmas but nothing at all as I see this agency betterhealthcare Bedford as just dropped me like a ton of bricks it would of been nice for the agency to given me some notice time to find work so am now out of work just after Christmas with no savings a family 11 year old and wife who cannot work thankyou betterhealthcare Bedford just be careful when going to work for this company

I had the misfortune to use this company to care for a 90 year old friend. The carers (ha-ha) walked in the door, put a pre-packed meal in the microwave and then stood around for the rest of the time. That is not what I call "care". I saw this with my own eyes when visiting my friend at his flat. Better Care charged £120 a week for a couple of short visits a day to do virtually nothing. I can NOT recommend this company.

I worked here for just over a month and from the start the company seems to be disorganised and were looking at sending you out into the community without any uniform or ID.
Then came when they sent you the rotas out as sometimes they sent you the same one multiple times before your shift even started and other times they’d give you days you said you can’t do then tried to let them know but wouldn’t get a reply to the email.
Due to Covid 19 a client raised the issue about hygiene and staff touching the phone being an infection risk to which he was told we all carried wipes by the management which is a total lie. I didn’t even have a mask that would protect me properly as they were so thin you could see through it and was only told to wear them around suspected covid clients and not all the time like the government advice.
When visiting clients a lot of them I met didn’t have a good word to say about the company and kept saying how useless and disorganised they are yet the management doesn’t seem to think anything is wrong. None of the staff had a good word to say either as they were all worked into the ground and not getting the right amount of money for it.
When I left the company I didn’t have anything bad to say apart from disorganised but then I found out from a colleague who was also new that some of the older carers bully the younger ones as well as go round being nice to your face but then bad mouth you behind your back. No company should have this sort of environment in my opinion.

Overall I wouldn’t recommend unless the company becomes more organised, tells the truth to clients instead of what they want to hear to stop them complaining and the staff learn to be honest with each other rather than back stabbers and not to bully each other.
