Go somewhere else! You've been warned
My therapist has always been amazing (this is my 2nd time using them). The issue is their incompetent customer success team. I requested a week refund due to my therapist being on holiday. They decided to fully cancel my subscription, cancel my booked in sessions and have left me with me no therapist. I beyond appalled at what has gone on and due to their incompetent customer success team I'd strongly advise against using them. The therapist are amazing but the customer success team are a disgrace and need to learn how to read simple email requests!
Just in the knick of time…
Didn't know where to turn and then better health turned up. Found just who I needed. Thank you.
DO NOT TRUST
DO NOT TRUST! Submitter my insurance information. Betterhealth said I would owe nothing. They then proceeded to bill my credit card for each session without my knowledge. Tried to cancel my credit card, was told they couldn't do it. Very deceitful company.
Terrible company
Terrible company. Waste of money, therapists are shocking.
Match made in Heaven
Love my therapist! Perfect match at a perfect price! I highly recommend this app!
I love this app and my therapist she's…
I love this app and my therapist she's amazing
It wasn’t clear that the sessions were…
It wasn’t clear that the sessions were charged weekly like a subscription. It was all about taking advantage of a vulnerable person
Didn’t address my particular problems…
Didn’t address my particular problems at all unfortunately. The app matched me with a competent person but not really trained, I feel, to manage the kind of thing I needed help with. I would advise avoiding generalised apps like this and seeking a very specific kind of professional if you can find one, on your own
They say $0, turns out to be thousands $$$$
Turns out “you qualify for $0 out of pocket” means after 15 sessions we will bill you for more than $100 a session. They are scammers posing as mental healthcare. They are causing more harm with the added financial stress than what they actually helped with. Screw them! They are horrible. Please don’t ever use them! Don’t give them your Credit Card info. The whole business should be shut down.
ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!
The Better Help therapist I was paired with was mediocre, our connection was usually weak. My biggest frustration was that they bill after the therapist turns in the session information and in my case that was 3 months later and they charged me twice in one day. I called and got an answering service that said they do not speak to customers. After 25 emails back and forth I gave up and they basically said we aren’t going to look into it any further. Such awful service for a company that has the goal of helping those in need.

Easy to use and navigate
Easy to use and navigate. Was able to find a therapist fast. I love the tools they have to journal entry, being able to share it with my therapist, have quick response times, easy appointment scheduling at my fingertips. I like the daily check ins to debrief my day.
The app is great at sending appointment reminders which helps keep me on track when i have a busy week.
Followed my counselor here—and pleasantly surprised by all the extras!
I actually followed my counselor over from another platform, so I was already invested in keeping up with the great care we had established. Because of that, I was pleasantly surprised by how much BetterHelp has to offer on top of my one-on-one sessions.
The platform itself is smooth and easy to use, but what really blew me away are all the extra features included in the membership. Having access to live group therapy sessions, structured classes, and interactive worksheets gives me so many more tools and ways to work on my mental health throughout the week. You don't just need more self Talk or Space—BetterHelp is truly the pinnacle when it comes to having a complete, supportive ecosystem right at your fingertips. Highly recommend!
Don't Trust Better Help!
I turned to Better Help because I was dealing with a great deal of stress and anxiety, and their advertisements suggested that many customers with insurance pay nothing out of pocket. So I signed up, ran my insurance through their estimation system, and was told that my estimated out of pocket cost was $0 per session. So I found a therapist who I ended up seeing for 10 sessions. Meanwhile my billing page continued to show I was being charged $0 per session out of pocket.
But then six months later the charges started coming in. Apparently my insurance only covered about half of what Better Help was charging, but Better Help waited six months to begin billing me for the difference. So well after finishing the sessions that I had been told were paid for, I ended up accumulating over $1,000 in charges. And despite going back and forth with their customer service, they offered no help at all.
Better Help's business practices are not just misleading, they are predatory. They claim to offer help to people in need, but hide the actual costs until it's too late to do anything about it. And then they are unwilling to make any adjustments to the charges. Had I known the sessions would cost over $100 each out of pocket I would have thought twice about turning to them for help. Now they have added more stress than they helped me to deal with in the first place.
I would never recommend Better Help to anyone. Find a local, in-person therapist that is honest about the costs of their services. Don't trust this deceitful company. They do not have your best interests in mind.

Honestly... Just go direct to someone. Therapists hate them anyway
Honestly, I don't have time to really give you all the details but what a dumpster fire. The therapist bi**ched and moaned about how terrible it was to the tune of wasting the majority of our time talking about it while going through intake forms (he claims even though I answered them he had to go through them again).
Second meeting with the therapist and he didn't even say hello how are you. Just spent 10-12 minutes talking at me about some document saying again he had to go through this and better health sucked. I ended the meeting after saying maybe 4 words in those 10 minutes. Tried to get a refund from Better Health and their response was, "we can't because we auto-charge insurance once notes are filled by the therapist". What a moving and compelling reason to take my $50 co-pay when I did not receive anything for that money. You know it's like $185-280 per session that insurance pays? I've blown money on silly things but this one takes the cake...
Tried to get another therapist based on a couple selections they asked and they gave me 7 that weren't a fit at all and I couldn't undo the selection to try someone else.
Just all around terrible experience.

Charged me 150 for nothing
I was matched with a therapist and they didn’t have appointments until 3 weeks into the future! Better help charged me 150 euros while I was waiting for my appointment! For what??? I haven’t received a service and yet have paid 150! So unhappy and as I listed financial problems as being part of why I needed therapy this is even worse! Better help is now contributing to my mental health crisis! I have contacted them and not heard anything back

Fantastic platform and very convenient

Grateful for Linda and BetterHelp
’ve had a very positive experience with BetterHelp and especially with Linda. She is supportive, thoughtful, and easy to talk to, and I truly appreciate the guidance and perspective she provides. I’ve felt comfortable and supported throughout the process and am very happy with my experience.
Looking for a Place for Professional Therapist and Therapy Services
I was recommended to Better Help by my daughter who used their services. I really like the survey process to connect me with a therapist for my needs. I was able to get an interview within days with the therapist I was matched with. My therapist has remained professional, provided excellent resources and suggestions and has always been punctual and consistent with our appointments. I would recommend my therapist, Dr. Sandra Johnson, specifically.
Everything on the app is so easily…
Everything on the app is so easily accessible, therefore finding and speaking with a therapist is front and center. When you’re going through a mental health event ease is important.
Online counseling
I suffer from major depressive disorder. I’ve done counseling off and on over the years in person. I was skeptical at first about using an app, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I like doing my counseling online now. I can stay in my home, in my comfortable clothes and get real with my counselor.
They give you choices on how often you want to talk to your counselor which helps with the budgeting.
I highly recommend BetterHelp as an online counseling service.
