Horrible Customer Service and Treatment

I opened an account 4 months ago, and I used the bank to schedule bill payments and withdrawals. On Monday, my account was restricted due to suspected fraud. I called them to ask why, and they said that, according to their policy, they have the right to close a bank account if they suspect fraud. I agreed and requested to just have the bank account closed. My frustration is that I called them 4 times to request that my phone number be removed as PayID, as I need to use it to open a new bank account. The first 3 customer service reps told me it is possible they have lodged the forms, and it will be done. waited for nothing, today I called again and was told our fraud team is not willing to take your phone number off the payID. You will need to lodge a complaint with your new bank. Are you being serious, in there word its not something we are willing to do. Now I am stuck because my phone number is still attached to the closed bank account, and I am unable to use it with my new bank for PayID. I would stay away for bank that prides itself on customer service. Honestly, the treaments as been horrible. Release my number, Beyond Bank that all i am asking

Disappointing for a B Corp

I tried to join Beyond Bank because of their B Corp credentials. I was genuinely impressed with what they offer and believe in what they're doing. I applied online using a valid Australian passport.

After not hearing anything for several days, I called only to be told my application had been rejected due to "ID suspicions." The person on the phone couldn't tell me anything further and said they were closing my account and application. I was initially told there was no way to resolve it, then told I'd need to go to a branch, an hour's drive for me.

I was initially disappointed until I read the other reviews here and honestly feel like I've dodged a bullet. Accounts closed without explanation, customers unable to access their own money, a Risk Department that nobody can actually speak to. It seems like a pattern.

Shame, Beyond Bank. I genuinely believe in what you're trying to do, but the customer experience doesn't match the B Corp promise. I'll be taking my personal accounts, business accounts, and home loan elsewhere. Australian Mutual Bank has earned what could have been yours.

Completely wiped their hands when…

Completely wiped their hands when trying to retrieve funds from a scam. All evidence provided - provided the person in question responsible and the response was: unsuccessful in retrieving the funds due to the following reason: declined - no response.
Called to follow up on lack of information provided and reason why and was met with unhelpful rude customer service. Will be looking to change banks

Beyond Bank = Your funds beyond reach

Since we opened our super account at Beyond Bank 2 weeks ago, most of our requests to transfer our money have been denied and our account has been blocked. We have spent hours on the phone and have been to the branch twice. They claim there is remote access to all the devices we have tried to use. They refuse to give us access to our money, despite the fact that we're over 65.
Although the customer service people have been nice, we still can't get most of our transfers through.
It is frightening when one can't transfer their life savings money where they want.

Beyond Bank's Risk Department - faceless decision makers

Beyond Bank's Risk Department (who my customer service agent was unable to put me in touch with) decided to close my account without notice (which they can do in their T&C) - but they also failed to live up to their own T&C which says after a closure they must advise me that it has happened, and why. Upon ringing when I couldn't access my account the CS agent (who was trying to help) only recited the T&C that says it is the bank's commercial decision to close an account. God forbid I withdrew my own money from my own account, keeping within their maximum daily withdraw limits.

Helpful staff

On Tuesday 9th December 2025 I noticed an account had been opened without my knowledge so I rang them straightaway and I told them what had happened and they locked the account immediately so nobody could use it while I was on the phone without keeping me waiting. Also on the same day my ANZ Account got hacked and some money was transferred from ANZ into that account without my knowledge as well.

I’m giving Beyond Bank 1 star

After careful consideration, I’m giving Beyond Bank 1 star. Their service was deeply disappointing. While they claim “we must take all aspects of a customer’s needs into account,” their rigid customer service approach feels dismissive. There are much better banks to bank with.

I rarely ever do reviews however with regards to beyond bank they have to be the most disgraceful company I have ever had dealings with in over 40 years. They had been recommended to me by my previous employer and the experience I had with them was shameful. After I left the previous company, there was an issue with the final payment and despite over five emails to them. Queering, where the payment had gone I got absolutely zero response from them. These emails were sent to them via their customer service listed email. It was only by chance that my previous employer when speaking to them that they admitted to him that there had been a computer glitch with the final payment which I had not received. Since then they did correct the payment. However I had a credit card with them which now shows a zero balance which formerly was $354, again, having sent them an email via their app regarding how this has disappeared, I have heard no response from them. If anyone is to give you a recommendation regarding this company, I wouldn't go near them and would seek a better alternative.

I was recently scammed. I rang the BB fraud department, it was investigated by Visa and I was refunded. It took a couple of months but I thought the Bank did a good job in taking the complaint and following it through.

For the last 9 Months I have raised an…

For the last 9 Months I have raised an issue with this Beyond Bank that they withdrew Monies from an account and permitted payment to an external Service provider without my Knowledge. That Money was for the purposes of Mortgage Payment. After I had realised what they had done without my permission I raised the issue several times, this was ignored time after time. So in an effort to raise awareness I deducted that same amount from my monthly payment in Lieu of what they had done. Next thing I have their debt Collection department not only demanding but also threatening and intimidating me so much so They have listed me on CRA because I refuse to make up the difference. And again this month I have had to go through the whole process. At the beginning I had 2 options Beyond Bank or the Commonwealth needless to say I made the wrong choice. I even sent emails and messages to their HR manager in South Australia all falling on "DEAF EARS" For a financial Services provider they currently have a great deal of systemic problems with Management , let alone Customer Service STAY AWAY find an alternative source of funding even as of today the 27 October this saga still goes on

Communication breakdown!!!
I received an email from Beyond Bank regarding my insurance renewal which was overpriced and I saved $250 changing my Car insurance to Allianz whom I was insured with via Beyond Bank???
Saved $350 on home Insurance as well by switching.
Attempted to email Beyond Bank regarding cancellation of policy but original email from no reply email address, why??? Attempted to call Beyond Bank to cancel renewal but gave up after 25 minutes on hold. What a joke and I am so glad I have left.
Lodged feedback complaint got the usual spin blaa blaa busy time etc....
Also thought I might go in to local branch at Seaford Meadows but no as no longer open Saturday morning!!! This used to be the one advantage of a Credit Union.

So basically tried to rip me off on renewal and almost impossible to cancel. Good bye Beyond Bank and to the rude staff I dealt with good luck getting a new job when Beyond Bank fails.

Rude staff

Their dispute process is disgusting because I tried to dispute a JB Hi-Fi transaction for $1100 and they wouldn't refund me so I wouldn't waste your time with this ridiculous bank and I would recommend sticking to ANZ since their dispute process is heaps better.

Stay away from these fraudsters because they just like taking your money for no reason at all as they couldn't careless about their customers so I would recommend banking elsewhere and I will be spreading the word to make sure others do the same.

Tess likes playing in a sand pit full of money belonging to somebody else so she can steal whatever money she can get her hands on.

Beyond Bank Scam Respond review

Beyond Bank Scam Respond review. September 5th myself and my former wife were scammed by a scammer whom set up a fake WhatsApp number and a fake account with the Commonwealth Bank. The scammer contacted my former wife first, then myself saying it was our daughter and her telephone was broken and she was in a desperate state financially. I paid out $4811 to the scammer believing it was our daughter friend. It was a scam. My son picked it up straight away it was a scammed. I telephone the bank straight away and scam watch straight away. I should add I am in Scotland Uk at the moment not up with the latest scams. The respond was,

Many emails saying they are looking into the scam over 11 days from different people.

First telephone call from the bank was 11days later. A very un-empathic respond. It left me and my family very upset.

Final received a letter from the bank on the 19th of Sept. There respond, was they approach commonwealth Bank a day later sept 6th to find out the scammer had moved the money. Seriously 24 hours later. I expect my bank to action this a lot faster but it was my money not their money

No money trail investigation no other investigation on the criminal who did this to us with the commonwealth bank. This criminal is still out there doing this to other people. Basically, if you get scammed and you are a customer of Beyond Bank you are on your own. Sink and swim. Please if you are a customer of Beyond Bank seriously if you are concerned about scams Beyond Bank will not help or protect you. Please look at other banks which will support you. To recover my money, I have to use social media and radio to recover my money.Banks will have to review OSKO payment system as it’s a scammer haven to take advantage of hard-working people and I was a person who was savvy and I never thought this would happen to me.
