Good way to see the sights and get your bearings in Shanghai

The Big Bus tour was easy to use and the staff were helpful. The three routes covered many of the top sights in Shanghai and the free entry tickets were a definite bonus. The only issue I had was that the buses ceased operating quite early- I would have appreciated being able to visit the Bund and Financial District at night, too.

Very good if you don't have much time. Quality of audio could be improved on some busses

A good solution if you don't have much time. Quality of audio could be improved on some busses.
The website does not tell you where to find the main bus station (at least, I was unable to find it) and I wasted significant time.
The guys at the main bus station were very helpful and gave some good suggestions on things to do, and the best time to do them.
Will use Big Bus tours again in other countries

Doesn't worth in Shanghai

Since the public transportation is very cheap and often in Shanghai, bus tour is not that good. Additionally, some pros and cons:

- Bus stop signs are very wasted. Sometimes, we can't even see them.
- Bus frequency is bad - every 30m or every hour if the schedule is respected. Hence, you'll lose all the day waiting for the bus.
- Audio guide is very poor - say stuff from China and not often the places where you're passing by.

+ Good to have Jin Mao Tower, Huangpu River Cruise and Jade Buddha Temple tickets included but for 48USD is cheaper or nearly the same to buy the tickets locally.

Buses were not all on schedule and required some extra wait time which meant we could not see everything on the tour.

We were surprised by the ease of purchase online, but challenge and wait required to pick up tickets for the boat cruise, which was included in our package. The long wait for these tickets, and at the temple, meant we were unable to take the bus tour on the PuDong side of the river. After two of these tours in less than a year, we have still been unable to see the PuDong portion of the tour, and were only able to take the cruise once. The first time we were told early in the afternoon that the cruise was already sold out. The second time, we were told that we would need to wait two hours to pick up the tickets because they would not be available until just before the cruise departed. This was very disappointing and frustrating.

Too Much Wait Time

We only had one full day in Shanghai so we chose the Big Bus Tour so that we could get to as many scenic sights as possible. Unfortunately the waits times at some of the stops was over 45 minutes in heat of over 100 degrees. There should be a posted schedule of the drop off and pick up times at each stop so that tourists can plan accordingly.

Big Shanghai Bus Tours gave us a good orientation of this vast city

In principle the Big Bus Tour is great. It gives you the opportunity to be picked up and dropped off at the important tourist spots in this huge metropolis. Unfortunately the "wait" periods on the inter-change from Red to Green and to Blue Lines can be frustratingly long. Passengers should also be warned that the across-river Ferry from the Pudong back to the Bund is quite a walk from the Big Bus stop and is very poorly sign-posted. We did not take advantage of the River Cruise as the (Big Bus) route simply did not allow for good connections for the quite long cruise which departs at specific times.

Value for Money

The big bus ticket is valid for two days and includes river cruise which is really nice. The staff is also very helpful and can speak English. Its true value for money.

Accessable, Informed, Value for money and simply outstanding!!!!

We had no idea on what was the best way to get up and personal with what Shanghai had to offer. Afetr some research, we booked on the Big Red Bus Tour and with a RED, BLUE and GREEN route on offer throughout the 2 day tour period, it gave us alot of opportunities to get around and experience all that Shanghai had to offer. It was simply outstanding, value for money and great to have a tour of the temple, river cruise and view from one for their largest buidlings, all the more worthwhile. It was a fantastic experience, and I would certainly undertake to do it again, and I will recommend this also to all friends and family ho are heading to Shanghai. Thank you.

Ok but could do better.

Not all audio sockets worked on some buses and green tour line definitely finishes too early in the day. Routes were good, audio informative (when working socket found) and all major tourist sights covered by routes. Did miss connection with river cruise as red bus running late when we tried to take the cruise.

Overpriced tour.

This tour was much too expensive compared to the other city sightseeing tour even when you take into account the attractions included. The buses waited for long periods of time at transfer points. The service was very infrequent. Hardly any of the headset jacks worked. I should have tried the other company.

Great Tour for new tourists to Shanghai

I was in Shanghai (and Asia) for the first time in my life. Using this 2 day tour you will get a good overview of the interesting places in Shanghai. You get a headphone with comments in 8 languages, very good.

Also included in the price is a tour on the Yangtze River (do it in the evening when all is illuminated) which is very impressing because the skyline of Pudong and "The Bund" is so great to see.
