I had a parcel waiting for me when I got home . Inside were smelly black faded jeans . I’m absolutely disgusted . My clothes are always clean and smell lovely . This is completely acceptable . What sort of person does this . What sort of company allows this to happen . Awful . Just awful .

I just received a top in their Goodbye sale listed as gymshark -when it's in fact from Primark !!! Also a jacket was listed as a size 10 was actually a size 14 therefore I can't wear it. Items weren't packaged with care either, seems to be no effort because they are closing . I request a refund for these items . And will follow up with an email.

I really like the idea behind this, but think it's probably only worthwhile if you're open to receiving things quite different to your normal style or not exactly as you ask for. Which is part of the point of it being a 'personal stylist' service. However, I would expect them to listen a little more to your requests.

For example, I did get the feeling that whoever chose my swaps (I sent some items back) didn't read my questionnaire that thoroughly, and instead just gave my Pinterest board a quick glance (I would have hoped they'd be used in tandem). For example, I first received items that were obviously not going to fit me well, given the measurements given - they weren't the wrong shop size, but didn't take my height etc into account. In my final swap, I received an item in a pattern that I'd actively chosen not to tick (I think possibly even said avoid) on my original questionnaire - fortunately I said avoid because I already had lots of similar items, so by this point I can't be bothered to ask to re-swap again.

It's also a very long lead time, which is understandable given their size and growth, but do keep that in mind if you want clothes for a particular season.

I was, however, pleased with the quality matching and think they did that well. I have got some lovely items I might not have picked out fo myself that I've enjoyed wearing, and some I'll probably end up selling on Vinted - but at least the latter are a similar value to what I sent in.

In short - would I personally pay for this service again? No, I'll stick to browsing charity shops/second hand platforms and trying things that are unusual to me that way.

Would I recommend it to others? Maybe if you're:
- Looking to buy more second hand, but not someone who likes to spend time browsing shops/Vinted etc yourself
- Want a wardrobe overhaul and only a vague idea of what style/items you want to try
- Intrigued by what someone might pick out for you, and not too fussed about what might come back
- Happy to wait

Then this is probably worth looking at. I think it's a good idea, but perhaps still ironing out some kinks from their sudden growth in terms of what they have available and the time they have to put swaps together.

Really enjoyed the Big Sister Swop experience and didn't mind the wait as the communication was good and nice surprise when parcel arrived.

I was able to send my original swap back and get a replacement. They sent me photos of my replacement swap items and I could give feedback which meant they hit the nail on the head and I loved the full swap. The only downside is the time it takes. I ordered on Nov '23 and got my replacement swap on April '24. Most of the items I was hoping to get in the swap, I went out and bought in that time - defeating the purpose of the service.

I can't recommend BSS unfortunately, though I would love to support the idea. I sent them a swap with all A category clothes in October 2023. I have just received my final swap! The first box they sent me contained one item that fit me, and one item with a hole in, one with a missing belt - I had to return the whole box. I have now received a box with ONE A category item (which doesn't fit my measurements!), and the rest are much lower in quality. I like three of the items, and approved receiving them even though they were of lower quality because I was so fed up with waiting, but did specify that I wanted at least half the clothes received to be A category, but that has not happened. It's taken 6 months, they say they match the quality, listen to your preferences, take into account your measurements, but if you are AT ALL difficult to fit, or have specific tastes, please do not use this company. You will end up down on money and resentful, if my experience is anything to go by. They clearly just don't have the supply of clothes to make it work. I truly regret not just selling my pieces on and finding things I liked in charity shops. I thought this would be easier and more fun, but it's just been one incredibly long, expensive disappointment.

I had a fantastic experience with Big Sister Swap. I swapped 1 kg of clothes, they sent slightly more to make up for a delay. The style team sent some follow up questions to ensure they got my matches right, and all 5 pieces are perfect. The quality of the clothes is fantastic, and is matched to the clothes you sent (send high street and receive high street, send designed and receive designer etc) - I actually got 3 items new with tags! Will definitely be using this service again!

I am so happy with my recent purchase from this brand. There was clear communication throughout the whole experience. It's a small team and it took a while for the whole process to be completed, but the standard and level of thought that went into my swap completely justified the long wait.

The items I have received are of excellent quality and perfect for what my wardrobe needs. The stylist listened to all of my requests and picked out clothes that I will wear over and over again. The price of the swap is very reasonable, and the quality of the clothes depends on what quality you send in and they are very fair with matching and exceeding what you give.

Great customer service, would recommend it to anyone wanting to get a fresh wardrobe without contributing to the fast fashion industry.

I found Big Sister Swap very easy to use. I cleared my wardrobe of pieces i don't wear, sent them off, completed the questionnaire. Sent further photos and ideas when they requested them. They were very thorough.
When my item were picked they sent me a document with pictures of the clothes and basic details. At this stage they said i could proceed if happy and i was.
The package arrived a few days later.
Very pleased with the items, communication and service.
Only downside is the lead time but this is understandable for a smaller company who are gathering a bespoke order for their customers. They do make it clear on their site about the length time.

I'm so impressed! I have been trying to shop more second hand on depop/vinted, charity shops etc but always find things aren't quite right. The quiz was very thorough and it was great for me to really think what specific things does my wardrobe need, rather than just buying things I randomly like but doesn't go with other stuff. Anyway, I couldn't believe how spot on they got my swap and I believe I will wear every piece often. You do have to be patient and it takes a bit of time to get back but overall I'm very happy with my order.

I’ve been looking for a swap service for awhile, without having to attend an in person event, I’m so glad I found Big Sister Swap. The service is amazing! You send in the clothing you don’t want anymore and get sent back the same weight of clothes following your stated preferences. The questionnaire of your style is really thorough and you can link your Pinterest as well. They grade your clothes by brand and quality so that you get back a similarly quality - if you send Primark you get Primark back, if you send designer you get designer. Big Sister Swap was very communicative about a delay in sending out parcels due to increased orders, and they always got in touch quickly when contacted. There were a few things in my original parcel which weren’t quite right and I could exchange them with additional feedback on what I was looking for. I will definitely be using again!

I'm a repeat customer at Big Sister Swap and this is my third swop. I was very impressed by their new process where they send you photos of the clothes for you to vet and you can give feedback and have new options selected. This resulted in me getting multiple items of clothing that I was really, really happy with and honestly, I would not have found such lovely clothes if I'd been looking myself and it's a massive added bonus that it was such good value per clothing item. I also wanted to note that their quality matching process worked well for me and I received similar value items to the ones I sent. It's a massive money saver to shop with BSS, while giving you the opportunity to have clothes you no longer wear sent to other swoppers.

BSS also has really fantastic customer service - any questions and they will help you with whatever you need. They also gave me a small refund because of delays, so they really do take care of you.

I’ve been following Big Sister Swap online for a while but was never brave enough to order as I was worried I wouldn’t like the clothes, and I was so wrong! The whole process was easy and I was able to get a collection from Royal Mail so I didn’t even have to leave the house to post my items. The styling team did so well, they really understood my style and I’m so happy with the pieces. I am quite picky with my clothes and they honestly hit the nail on the head! Anything you don’t like can be sent back for a re-swap which is great because there’s really no risk. I was so impressed that I’ve just ordered a 5kg swap. This is such a good service and I highly recommend you give it a go!

Myself and my partner have used big sister swap twice each. The first time ( a few years ago when the company was smaller( the swap was great. Our last swap, we both reswapped everything (5kg swap each) and from the reswap kept about 1/4 of the clothes and the rest went to charity. We filled out the style form in detail, sent Pinterest boards, asked for particular items and sent photos of us and our usual styles so were disappointed when the items we received did not match this. My partner also asked for gender neutral clothing and what they received was clearly bases on their presenting sex rather than gender neutral which was also disappointing.

When I first heard of the company I thought it was really clever, to collect used clothes and send them back to people who would appreciate them more. I bought the smallest (1kg) package to try it out, I sent off four items, one brand new and three in very good used condition. After about two months (I asked for a delay of 2 weeks because I was travelling) I got back four items I didn't especially like. They were in the colours and fabric types I asked for but there were some fits I specifically said I didn't want, one item was too small and two out of the four felt quite worn. I decided to send everything back and try again. This took about two months again. The company communicated that due to a move and scaling up they had delays, they gave me an estimated date by which they will send my order, which I felt was great, but then they missed it by over two weeks. My final selection arrived today. To make up for the wait I was given 5 items, and they were similar to what I asked for in a recent email in which I updated my preferences. I now like one of the items, I'll give another one a chance, and the remaining three are going straight into a charity collection bin. Of those one is a jumper that clearly shrunk in the wash and is far too small on me, one is made of 67% polyester, though in my remarks I specifically said natural fibres only, and one is just not something I see myself wearing.

I don't think I'll use this service again in the future.
