I paid £179 (inc VAT) for hosting with these guys and I have yet to get my site up and running. That was 10 months ago and emails on and off, over that time , have not given me any joy. It also appears that I need to pay extra for advanced Wordpress management (But not sure.).

I have also spent a lot of time pondering their 'help' content. Big Wet Fish was recommended to me because they have excellent support.

They are responsive to emails. And quick. Just not actually very helpful.

I guess I need a little more handholding than they want to give and it's probably my fault because I don't talk tech.

So, consider Big Wet Fish as a business/enterprise solution where techies can talk to techies in their language. Mere mortals should shop elsewhere. (Although I did elucidate my needs and level of expertise early on.)

But I do feel that I paid rather a lot of cash for a service not provided.

Been with these folks since 2005 and recently had so many problems that we've just had to leave. Things were fairly OK previously (lots of issues with black listed IPs), but after the dedicated server we were on needed to be replaced we've had nothing but trouble. The last straw being a ticket over 2 weeks with issues where one thing is fixed and another one is broken. Had a senior manager clearly give up and tell me that they don't provide business grade email and blamed me for not reading the terms and conditions - what has this got to do with a websites SSL dropping out? Wow. I'd upgraded my package multiple times after asking them what I should buy and was recommended the package I was on. Constant SSL drop outs, emails constantly going in to spam, emails from people bouncing back with 'mailbox unavailable' and the email lost, constantly getting blacklisted for bad password when nothing had been changed and passwords working otherwise, slow web performance on sites... Total nightmare. If you want 1 site hosting then they are probably fine, but more than that good luck.

The good points: Their support is usually pretty good, and live chat is usually friendly & handy. It doesn't seem to be logged though so keep a record of your chats. Also fairly cheap. I guess you get what you pay for.

Very disappointed after being with them for so long to be treated this way. They are not a web host, they are an 'Infrastructure provider'. Read the updates to the T & C as I wonder if these things were listed there years ago (You ticked the box accepting these conditions when you made your account - lovely).

These hosts go the extra mile, and their server admins know what they are doing.

I have worked with them for several years, but you only know if a host is good when you have problems

My developers rebooted our server, and all our sites went down. We raised a ticket and the BWF engineers were able to diagnose an issue our developers wouldn't have identified, a little technical to say the least. Solved the issue within the hour.

This isn't the first time, they're are a very capable team with very robust processes. I have had real headaches with hosting, I strongly recommend this company if you want a hosting company that is accountable.

The best hosting site in the UK if I could give more stars I would.

I have been with BWF for several years, with a shared hosting site. Every time I've had a problem or needed help the BWF support team have resolved it in a timely, supportive and friendly manner.
I was with a friend earlier today, helping him transfer to BWF from Ionos. Again, very helpful, supportive contact from the sales staff. He is impressed too.

I am migrating multiple websites to BWF, their customer support in particular Steven was most impressive, thanks.

I have a wordpress website and i been having a problem with a plugin which the staff of the "Big Wet Fish" were able to find out and get me back up and runnning very fast

I had a problem on a Saturday evening with my website failing to load. i was trying to show a client / customer so it was a little concerning. I contacted the team at BWF and hey presto, website up and running again in record time. I really can't thank the guys there enough. Nothing is too much trouble and always helpful. Fantastic customer service at any time day or night!

Really excellent hosting company we have used for years now. Any issues you get a quick response to tickets with good quality help from a knowledgeable member of their team. It is quite a bit more expensive than when we started with them, but you get a lot for your money IMO.

I have been with Big Wet Fish for so many years (I don't want to think back to what it was like before them...) Believe me when i say that they are the best in the business! (from personal experience having used others previously)

I think they are so good I even have my clients take out servers with them and actively promote them to clients looking servers. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Stephen and the team have consistently fixed/updated and corrected any problems i have (unfortunately) had to throw at them. They have helped me grow my business and become an additional member of my team allowing me to focus on the business while knowing they have the server and accounts looked after.

I can safely say the customer service from this company is amazing! have total confidence if you are looking for a good provider. Im using it for my word press.org site.

been with the BWF boys for over 12 years - best business decision i have ever made. and problems is no problem - i would defy anyone not to have a problem resolved as they have been there done that

I first bought my hosting package with BigWetFish back in 2006 or 2007 via eBay! Over the many years, I've only had issues when I locked myself out of hosting due to too many wrong login attempts etc (i.e. my fault). The support team has always been super responsive even at 3 am.

Fantastic customer service, what a breath of fresh air for online support.

I've been with them for over 8 years and have had some ups & downs over that time, but today they excelled at excellent customer service.
Their response times to queries are always fast. Their helpfulness is second to none.
I've recommended them to others and I haven't had any adverse feedback from friends about BWF.
BigWetFish comes highly recommended.
