Beware of Online Bicycle Shops-Bikeroom makes untrue claims

I am advising everyone to be careful about buying bicycles online and overseas. Bikeroom makes the claim that their world class mechanic inspects every bike to ensure that it is in good working condition. They have a long list of things they inspect and finish the certification with a road test. I purchased a 2022 Connondale Systemsix. They gave it a 10/10 rating meaning it was like new and had a like new Sram AXS drivetrain. I believed their claims. The bike had a defective rear derailleur and shifts sporadically. I emailed Anna and told her it had a bad derailleur. She told me to see what my mechanic said, which I did. Sram traced the part and noted that it was in warranty and the previous owner was sent a new derailleur but never returned the old derailleur. Apparently the owner kept the new part and sold the bike with the defective part to Bikeroom. Anna's instructions were very vague. She never said we could send you another derailleur. Additionally, the bike had a chain that was too short. I had a new derailleur and chain put on the bike. A so called world class mechanic would have caught these issues. Obviously, the inspection was merely visible and no real mechanical work was done on the bike. I had $600.00 dollars of work done to bring it up to standard. Now Anna wants me to agree to accepting pennies for the work I had done. Bikeroom makes claims that are simply not true. Stop lying about all you do before you sell a bike. With the cost of shipping and the price of the bike even at a reduced price, it is just not worth it. Only buy a bike you can test drive.
