Bike Tow Leash Reviews 

I thought it looked good, but was prepared for that it might not work as well as I hoped. It wouldn't be the first time wasting my money on something Sammy (our Border Collie / Staffy X) didn't like.

I started by taking the him for a few very short trips, just up and down the street, so we could both get the hang of it.

That was about 2 yrs ago, and since then, any time I touch the bike, he gets super-excited. In fact it's hard to ride that bike without him, because he gets upset if he thinks he's missing out.

He loves galloping for the first quarter mile. After that, we settle into a steady trotting rhythm, with the occasional break into a run. This dog loves to run.

I've had so many people smile when they see us, and quite often people ask about the Bike Tow Leash. My wife had one bad experience, when a strange lady started yelling at her that it wasn't good for the dog. After that we changed from a collar to a chest harness, because Sammy does pull quite hard at the start -- it's like having an electric bike. After that my wife doesn't feel as confident to use it any more.

But like I said, if I touch the bike, Sammy goes bananas. He clearly loves it. People comment on how fit he looks. I'm mostly exercising him in places where I'm not able to take him off the leash. With this, he's able to get much more exercise than I would otherwise be able to give him

This makes taking my high energy and easily distracted German shepherd for a run not only possible, but lots of fun! She really helps pull me up the hills and can’t pull me sideways when she sees a dog or squirrel, it’s truly wonderful!

I have a 95 lb American Bulldog that really enjoys our bike ride/ run. I’ve had surgery on both ankles and both knees so walking her was tough on me and I’m sure she didn’t appreciate my slow pace. With this she gets to walk, jog and run and absolutely loves it. This way we both get our exercise! Thanks for a great product

I needed a bracket to mount onto a Cricket miniature golf cart. Leon drove a couple of hours to look at a Cricket and came up with a solution to modify a mounting bracket kit to include a longer bolt to replace the original one on the cricket. Another time, when I ordered an incorrect leash, he replaced it at no charge even though it was my fault for not communicating exactly what I needed. His customer service is EXCELLENT, therefore 5 Stars.

My Goldendoodle has way too much energy. Walks don’t do anything for him. He’s a runner. Tow leash tires him out completely. This is my second purchase as my first one was stolen off my bike. Highly recommend.

This is the best bike attachment for taking your dog along....its expensive but worth it..... I have one I have used for 8 years and still going strong

The unit attaches easily and securely to the bike and it allows me to maintain balance on the bike even when my large Alaskan Malamute pulls away from the bike. A couple of issues I have had with the Bike Tow Leash is my dog is able to possibly make contact with the front wheel of the bicycle which could cause him harm and/or I can crash. The second issue is the Bike Tow Leash did mar my carbon frame of my bicycle.

Life-Changing Product!

I purchased a Bike Tow Leash in 2016 (CE) and began using it with my corgi, Murray. He took to it immediately, and it has been a beloved part of our daily ritual ever since. I use it to get him through the neighborhood to the local park, or through the parking lots at trailheads; basically, we use it anywhere we have to share the road with cars. It gives me peace of mind to know that I have complete control of his actions in the midst of unpredictable drivers.

The Bike Tow Leash is thoughtfully designed. The rigid plastic piece prevents Murray from getting entangled in the cranks or the spokes when we're in motion, while the rubber piece and swivel clasp allow Murray to spin around freely and size up our surroundings when we're stopped.

I unclip Murray at the park and on singletracks and we chase each other around for hours. Whenever we encounter another dog, I stop, reach back, unhook the Bike Tow Leash's clasp from my seat rail, and hold it out for him. Murray walks up next to the bike and allows me to clip him back to the Bike Tow Leash with no fear or apprehension.

Murray is only 28lbs.; despite his relatively small size, he's quite capable of pulling me and the bike forward with no assistance on straightaways with little to no elevation change. I'd be very cautious using this product with larger dogs that are easily distracted by cats, bunnies, squirrels, etc. Similarly, make sure your dog goes to the bathroom before hooking him or her into the Bike Tow Leash; when a dog feels the urge to squat, it's pretty irresistible and the subsequent planting can be enough to send a rider over the handlebars if he or she isn't paying attention to the dog.

Notwithstanding these minor hiccups, I'm a true fan of the Bike Tow Leash. Murray and I already had a great relationship, but adding the mountain bike into the mix drastically increased the slate of options I had for burning out all his corgi energy on a daily basis. The Bike Tow Leash is what made this possible.

Was hesitant on spending this much, after a lot of research and reading reviews, we purchased the Dog Tow leash. ZERO REGRET. We have a 10yo Boxer and a 3yo energetic Kelpie, both do great on it without any past bike experience. As well as my parents' 1yo boarder collie (they wanted to see how the dog took to it before purchasing- no issues, they bought one too) Any pulling is corrected for the most part, otherwise my Kelpie just runs a bit faster when excited.
FYI We did have to buy an extra attachment since we both have DISC BRAKES. We got a second attachment for easier switching between our bikes. Mike was awesome over the phone on correcting my shipping price for the attachment and super friendly to talk with! Thank you for creating such a life changing and great quality product!

All in all, we can't imagine not getting this. It's done well with 3 different dogs of a breeds/ages.

Update 5-20-20: still zero regrets. I love going for 1-2 bike rides a week with my Kelpie. It helps to trim his nails down a bit. I did switch to the right side of my bike so he could run in the grass to not wear his paws as much and for easier distancing on park paths. We also have a martingale collar since he didn’t run well with a harness or regular collar on the bike tow.

BEST BIKE TOW LEASH OUT THERE!!! We have been using them almost every day for the past 4 years and absolutely love them!! We have four dogs that get super excited when they see the bike out because they know they are going for a bike ride. I have tried other bike dog leashes but they do not work any where near as good as this product. This product is the best because our dogs pull very hard because of excitement and this product does not break or allow the dog to get in front of front wheel which could hurt them if it did. AWESOME Product!! Best buy out there for sure!!!!

The Bike Tow Leash, in my opinion is a very useful tool to give your dog exercise while riding a bike. The leash attaches very easily to the bike and keeps the dog's head secure and at the right height to safely ride and exercise your dog at the same time.

I bought the bike tow leash for my aussiedoddle 9 years ago. We still use it even though he's getting older. We don't go so fast any more but he loves it and so do I. It's the safest (for me and him) way to bike with my dog! Thanks for a great product.

I have had the Bike Tow Leash for 3 years now. I take my dog for his walks on a mobility scooter with the Tow Leash and my dog can no longer tip me over.

I have not used the leash enough to provide a fully informed review. However everything about the purchase, delivery to my address in South Africa and the few times that I did use it was exceptional. I have a very unruly German Shorthaired Pointer and it is even a pleasure tagging him along the bike on the leash.

A very good product, needs to be thigthen often but stiil mise probably the best bike tow leash out there.

Bike Tow Leash works great. Very secure attachment to the bike and a good distance from the bike for the dog. I have the extender so I can leash both of my Golden Retrievers. Before I ordered the Bike Tow Leash, I worried the dog might be able to pull the back of the bike from under me, but that hasn't been an issue at all. I've had my BTL for over 2 years and highly recommend this product

Works like a dream. Very easy to use. Please be mindful during summer months to make sure your furbaby’s feet stay cool if running on hard surfaces. Enjoy!!!
