Authentic South African biltong
I purchased sliced smoked BBQ biltong and chilli bites. I came across Biltong Chief on Facebook and decided to try it out after a long search for “real” biltong since relocating to Asia.
I gave this product a 4/5 rating because the biltong was slightly under seasoned, I prefer my chilli bites very spicy and the BBQ slices were slightly under salted compared to the chilli bites for my liking. The flavours were overall great.
My package was delivered within a day. A pleasant surprise was the sturdy and functional packaging, I appreciate the attention to detail. A great product overall!

Attracted By Unusual Products, Impressed By The Service
Wanted to try biltong and attracted by their range of frozen seafood offerings. Their delivery calendar doesn't lock you into ordering one weekday before target delivery. Their Springbok friendly vibe is a nice genuine touch.

Good biltong, lacklustre communication
I bought 2 products: the original biltong and the wet chilli chunks.
- The original beef biltong is pretty tasty, a good high protein snack for the work day and I'm interested in the catalogue of variations (springbok etc.).
- The wet chilli chunks aren't very spicy and quite a bit on the tough side, not sure if they're better warmed up; haven't experimented.
Would've been a higher rating but I emailed their nutrition team email 4 months ago asking if I could get the macros of some items but received nothing and just decided to bite the bullet and buy it anyway, where total protein is displayed on the packet - this could've easily been communicated and would've made me an earlier, as well as repeat, customer.
