Dear customer, we are sorry to hear that our product did not meet your expectations. The Long Burn Nestro briquettes contain approx. 3.4% of ash according to an independent test, and this is clearly stated on our website. This is because the briquettes contain bark for long burning. They are designed to release heat slowly and best suit large stoves, as stated on our website. The door should be kept closed if logs have expanded and there is a risk of fire. Wait for the fire to die down and heat to subside before opening the door. Animals should be kept well away when the stove door is open. The ash is not dangerous and can be spread around in the garden once it's cooled down. It makes good fertiliser. We take customer satisfaction seriously and have operated for seven years with thousands of customers served and over 400 positive online reviews although away from Trustpilot. My colleague has spoken with you this morning and we will contact you again to propose a resolution.

Agree about the profiteering. I thought inflation was 10 per cent, not 100 percent! Profiteering, pure and simple.

We are a retailer and buy wood in wholesale markets. Our most popular product the Hotlogs is available for £469 a tonne retail, which compares to around £330 a tonne in January 2022. This is an increase of 42%. Compare that with a 100% increase in gas prices (source: the Office of National Statistics https://www.ons.gov.uk/economy/inflationandpriceindices/timeseries/czda/mm23) and wood briquettes look very competitively priced.

We are a retailer and don't manufacture our products or harvest own timber. We buy from wholesalers. Oak Nestro were previously imported from Eastern Europe. A large part of similar briquettes have now been banned (sanctioned) by the UK government, so there is a massive shortage of product. The wholesale prices have approximately tripled since last year, while transport costs from the place where Oak Nestro were made at least doubled. We recommend our customers to buy British and consider our Hotlogs which while more expensive than old prices, are made locally, ecofriendly and support local manufacturers.

Hit followed by bad miss with Bioglow
My first order with Bioglow was overall a good experience. Product arrived quickly, although not when expected. Placed and paid for a second order only to be told that it couldn't be shipped from Scotland due to a lack of regional stock. To have the same product delivered from England would be an extra 15% on the cost. Lots of reasons and unnecessary, but worryingly familiar, mention of contract law before I asked to cancel the order. Apparently 3-5 days for the funds to reach my account, even though PayPal refunds (how I paid) are usually instant. So I am now no longer a customer. Plenty of other companies to support with my business instead.

Appalling delivery service. Don't use them
I was promised delivery on Monday. I waited in all day. No delivery. On phoning the delivery firm, I was told that the wrong goods had been sent. I have been on the phone all morning trying to get the fault rectified. Still no information. And the company really don't seem to care.

We have been in touch with the courier and the goods sent were in fact correct. Due to a typo by a delivery clerk, this order was delivered one day later than originally scheduled while checks on the goods were made. We have responded to the customer's messages throughout.
We have been operating since 2016 and delivered over 9,000 orders to customers, including numerous repeat customers, over that time. We would welcome the opportunity to serve you in the future.

RUF logs not as good as Nestro Briquettes
This was the first time I ordered the Birch RUF logs - they are OK but not as good as the Nestro Briquettes. The RUF Logs are not compacted anywhere near as well as the Nestro Briquettes which results in an awful lot of sawdust left over. They crumble and create a mess every time you touch them.
Delivery was rapid and the delivery driver was helpful getting the pallet to where I wanted it.
I will stick to the Nestro Briquettes in future

I regularly use RUF briquettes from Bioglow, usually with ordinary logs as well. The product never varies, they produce plenty of heat and little ash and they're good value. Delivery drivers are mostly helpful.

Good service, price and product.
I made contact with Bioglow just before the mad rush of orders began for the season and asked if I could purchase a pallet of Ruf logs and defer the delivery a week as I wouldn't be around for delivery and they were able to do this for me.
I went for the birch Ruf logs and they are much better than the round logs I previously had from another supplier. Easy to store, have a good burning time and put out a good amount of heat.
2 small negatives were some of the packages in the middle of the pallet were torn which made moving a bit of a pain and the courier didn't contact me to say they were coming. I can't mark them down for this though as it's been a good service, price and product. The courier was also really helpful so cheers to him also.
Will definitely be back for more next year.
