Wow wish I had read reviews before ordering. I really thought a brand like this would be good. Ordered two pairs of sandals as I wanted to compare them side by side. Arrived today and found the box labelled as Franca 40 contained a pair of black EVA clogs in 42. Phones to raise it with them to be met with a dismissive, disinterested CSA. Your loss, potentially £200 worth of goods if I’d liked both pairs and been able to try them side by side. Won’t be ordering from their website again. Compare this with Ralph Lauren who I gave slightly critical survey result to following problems with delivery &’return who got straight on to me to offer a solution.

Broke after a month, wouldn't replace!
I bought my son Birkenstocks for school. He's 12 but he really wanted them. After only a month the one of the buckles completely broke off. I spoke with customer service and they said there was nothing they could do! I hadn't even finished paying them off as I had to use afterpay to buy them. Luckily I found a local cobbler and hoping the repair won't end up costing a lot. You would think when you pay $125 for shoes they would last longer than a month.

I’ve worn Birkenstock shoes for years and have generally been very satisfied with the product. Unfortunately, the buckle on my new pair broke after only a few wears, which meant I had to contact customer services for the first time.
That’s when the real disappointment began. I’ve been going back and forth with customer services for over two months just to get a refund. The process has been astonishingly bad — slow, unhelpful, and with no sense that anyone cares about resolving the issue.
It’s deeply frustrating that such a strong product is let down by such poor service. This experience has really put me off buying Birkenstocks again.
Bad quality and permanently stained my feet black
I bought a pair of black Arizona Rivet Suede Leather from the official UK Birkenstock website. Although the shoes are really pretty and comfortable, the buckles are way too loose, making it difficult to keep them on when walking down the stairs. The worst part though is that they stain my feet black! I did my best to remove the stains but they just won't go. The quality is so poor. I left a review following the link I sent but it's not public. DO NOT BUY THIS MODEL (£170)!

I would give 0 stars! Ordered my first pair of Birkenstocks from Office London and got them straight away. Decided to order some more pairs from the official Birkenstock website and what a mistake that was! They clearly do not care about their customers at all which is strange and very disappointing as they are such a big and well known brand! Perhaps they have gotten so big that customers are no longer their priority? I placed my first order on 16/08/25, waited ages and eventually discovered that Evri had damaged my parcel and returned it to Birkenstock! Contacted Birkenstock who did not seem that sorry or bothered and said I would have to wait for the damaged item to be received by them and they would only then refund me! They said they could not even send me a replacement order, I would have to do that myself! Only when I complained did they refund me later that day and because I really wanted the shoes and could not get the particular ones from anywhere else, I had to place another order! Still waiting for this second order to arrive, Evri tracking keeps saying it’s delayed, same as previously! Why on earth do they use such a cheap courier as Evri for really expensive shoes? My order totals almost £250 and I very much doubt I will ever see it! It’s so frustrating and time consuming! I just contacted Birkenstock and they could not care any less! They said they had no idea basically and if they did look into it, it would take longer! ?? What!! I don’t know why they bother with a ‘help chat’ as it’s of no use at all and their staff do not care! I can see there are mostly terrible reviews on here and it looks like Birkenstock pay no attention to these reviews and don’t even bother responding to them!

Broken shoes, terrible customer service
I bought a pair from the professional range 4 months ago. They now have a large split in them. I sent photos to customer service and was told that I would have to return them with just a printout, so I will have to go to the post office myself. Then it will be two weeks while they decide whether to refund me. If I want a replacement I have to reorder and then apply for a refund on delivery! All the while, I will have no shoes for work. Obviously, I won't be ordering again.

The product is good and I love the shoes/sandals and find them very comfortable. What a shame this is totally let down by such a poor on-line shopping experience. They told me the sandals would be delivered, but then, changed the day at the last minute. They did the same thing the next day (causing me to wait in on 3 occasions). Finally they told me they could not be delivered and did not refund my money promptly. I have been told that will take 8 days. Feel they should seriously look at their ability to do online shopping - it is a negative experience.
Shockingly Poor Customer Service from Birkenstock
I received a brand new pair of Birkenstocks as a gift and noticed black marks on the straps before I had even worn them outside. I contacted Birkenstock customer service for advice and was extremely disappointed by the dismissive and unhelpful responses I received.
Instead of offering any constructive support or even suggestions for safe cleaning methods, I was told the cause was “beyond their knowledge,” that the shoes “must have been in perfect condition when I received them,” and that they could not advise me further. When I asked for escalation, I was told by the representative that they were a “senior colleague – over 60 years old” and therefore there was no further route for support.
For a brand with Birkenstock’s reputation, I expected far more professionalism and care. When you spend money on a globally recognised brand, you should be able to rely on helpful aftercare — not generic dismissals and excuses.
I would strongly recommend that anyone purchasing Birkenstocks do so only through a trusted retailer with strong customer service, as Birkenstock themselves appear unwilling to stand behind their products or provide meaningful support.

I ordered some shoes and a bottle of cork sealant. The shoes arrived and fortunately, in view of other reviews, they were the correct size, but they charged me for the bottle of cork sealant and protector, and have not responded to 4 emails from me about refunding the charge.
I am disappointed that such a big company has such a poor customer service, particularly as they charge a lot for their products.
I liked the shoes, but unless I can buy them in a bricks and mortar shop (unlikely where I live) I will not be ordering anything more from them, nor will I recommend them to my friends or relatives.

I would give 0 if I could. I have been a loyal Birkenstock customer for years, but they clearly have no respect for their customers. They use the appalling delivery service Evri (there are plenty of better services), and for a nearly a week now I have received an email every day from Evri telling me the parcel will be delivered between 19h and 21h that day. I have stayed in every evening to receive it. It has never appeared. This isn’t the first time this has happened. Birkenstock have no interest. They sent me a ridiculous AI generated reply saying they weren’t
responsible for Evri and thanking me for being a valued customer. They ARE responsible for getting the shoes I have paid for (including delivery costs) to me, so this is appalling customer service. The shoes suit me - but I won’t be ordering any more.
Still waiting for a refund - it’s been 2 MONTHS
I posted on here on the 07th July to let others know how dreadful ‘customer care’ is for Birkenstock EU. I have still not been refunded for my £100 gift voucher which has never been received. Two weeks ago I provided (again) proof of purchase, invoice provided by them to confirm they took the money and a picture of my bank statement showing the money has gone from my account. It’s now the 17th August and I have still not received my money. I’ve been in touch with my bank. I have never known anything like this from any company I have ever dealt with. I am stunned at how appalling Birkenstock is. I will never buy from this brand ever again. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!
