Worst bus company ever

Worst bus company ever. Our driver was very late, rude and aggressive, driving too fast, he even almost left us behind when leaving a stopover 10 minutes early, making us run and fall in the snow (lol) while watching through the closed doors. Unbelievable. Power and wifi wasn't working either. And all they could offer was a refund of the few euros the ticket cost. Their poor online reputation is well deserved.

REFUNDS ARE NONEXISTENT

After cancelling a ride share, in which the driver tricked me, and after the established checking period. I was told by BlaBlaCar that I would be fully refunded, NEVER HAPPENED !!! Very untrustworthy company !!

Bus never showed up, no help and no reimbursement for necessary train

I booked a BlaBlaCar Bus from Leuven (Belgium) to Cologne (Germany) for 19 October 2025 (booking ref E1QSS2), bought via Omio for €19.99. The bus was scheduled to leave Leuven at 18:50.

I arrived at the correct stop on time and waited, but the bus simply never showed up. There was no information at the stop and I received no SMS, e-mail or app notification about any cancellation, delay or rerouting.

Because I had to be at work the next morning, I had no choice but to buy alternative rail transport the same evening (intercity Leuven–Liège and Eurostar Liège–Cologne) for €99 in order to reach Cologne. I did not claim any hotel or food costs – just the necessary transport.

Customer service acknowledged by e-mail that the bus did not run as scheduled and offered a refund of the bus ticket plus vouchers. However, they refused to reimburse the €99 I had to pay because their service was not performed at all.

For me this is unacceptable. If a bus doesn’t run and passengers are left without information, the company should at least cover the necessary extra costs caused by their no-show.

Bus departure is pushed back by 1.5…

Bus departure is pushed back by 1.5 hours 4 days before departure and then when you need to cancel because of that you only get a voucher of 40% of the value of the ticket. It’s not my mistake that you have to change your transportation plan.

BlaBlaCar used to work flawlessly for…

BlaBlaCar used to work flawlessly for me. After ten years I tried it again. Two requests were rejected. One without any explanation, the other because the ride was supposedly full, even though it still appears as available. I booked a bus instead. That was the end of BlaBlaCar for me.

App reports a fake delay but doesn't count.

I had a bus at 13.34
I check the app and it says the bus will be 20 minutes delayed, will arrive ar 13.48 and leave at 13.58.
Meanwhile I got an email that said it will arrive between 12.59 and 13.04.
I concede I read that wrong and thought it said it would leave at 13.04.
I get to the station late for 13.34 but early for 12.48 or 12.58
Bus is gone.
I track it on the app and it says departure it left at 13.14

No phone number on the app, I left a message, useless.
I found a customer service number in Germany.
She tells me I received an email that the bus would be on time, and yes it has left.
I ask why did the app report 20 minutes delay, she told me not to trust the app. I must trust the communication I receive from BlaBlaCar, i.e. the email I received.
"The app doesn't count".
It did send me a notification.
She got annoyed at me, mentioning the app was irrelevant to her, as if it's somebody else's responsibility.

I didn't take a screenshot, i should have but what difference would it make.
How convenient for them.
The fact the app still says the bus left 20 minutes early, also not their problem.

If I ever take a Blablabus again, I'll make sure to fraud and get my money back.

I wrote to your customer service 4 times before someone said "what app are you talking about? can you tell us more, which I have"
Eventually you gave me my money back, but that's not the point. You never admitted having any responsibility over your own app and the possibility that there could have been a bug and wrong information sent. I sent you the screenshot of a bug which you have not even acknowledged. You just gave me my money because I was angry enough and well-spoken, but you have acknowledged nothing.

Instead of monitoring bad reviews on Trustpilot or Google, fix your app, admit your mistakes, read the emails already sent to your CS. It is typical of bad CS to instead try put off fires on public reviews rather than provide decent service and accountability.
You wasted enough of my time, I will not send you a 6th message, for one of your high turnover employees to answer with a template blaming me.

NOT RELIABLE

Since these people haven't responded to my complaint, I'm going to leave my review.
It was a few months ago now. Waiting for the BUS, and waiting, and waiting and the bus didn't arrive. I was in Biarritz, France, without data, I couldn't go inside the airport for wi fi as the bus could come when I was inside the building... After 45 minutes of anxiety and stress for not loosing my connexion, I heard to a young woman mentioning that she had received a text saying the bus will be late... later.
Obviously, the bus had to drive very fast, dangerous, to reach the next stop... in the end, I didn't miss my other bus miraculously. DO NOT USE THIS BUS, IS SHIT...

I’m writing this review mainly to…

I’m writing this review mainly to balance out the other low ratings and give some perspective, as my experience was fine. I travelled 8½ hours from Lisbon (Portugal) to Santiago de Compostela (Spain). The bus was comfortable and fairly clean, it wasn’t full so I had both seats to myself, and it arrived on time, and even 10 minutes early.

The bathroom, however, had no toilet paper or hand soap, which was disappointing. We didn’t make any stops for a toilet break along the way, so make sure to bring some paper and something to clean your hands with!

Considering the low price, I’d rate my trip 3/5, it got me safely to my destination, the bus was clean, but the bathroom facilities really needs improvement.

Smooth ride from Brussels to Paris

Smooth ride from Brussels to Paris. The driver was friendly and spoke different languages. This was my first BlaBlaCar bus experience and I am hoping the next ones will be similar or greater :)

Never turned up, refuse to refund.

Booked a 6.05am bus from Bordeaux to San Sebastián. It never arrived while we were standing there till about 7.10am. There was no information of its whereabouts or any cancellation or delay. Multiple passengers were waiting for it but had no information. There was no BlaBlaCar member of staff to help. We were forces to get a different bus with a different company.

They are now refusing to give us a refund on our journey and instead a useless voucher for 25% of the cost as we will never use their service again.

My two friends and I rode BlaBlaCarBus from Santiago de Compostela to Porto. We had a perfectly great experience. Completely opposite from these negative reviews I see here and there. The driver was very nice and helpful. Bus comfortable. Punctual. All in all it was a great experience for us.

Unable to receive refund for service not delivered

The bus journey was fine, but the bus didn't have a toilet or charging points, despite what they advertised. Not just that, but we paid extra for reserved seats. This seems to have been a scam, as there were no reservations, no seat numbers, and the driver said people could sit anywhere. We have been offered a voucher which is useless to me and they have refused a refund - despite never being in a position to offer the service they charged for!

The amount of money isn't great, but it's warning for others that you won't get a refund if things go wrong.

On the plus side, the bus arrived on time!

Cheating on their customers

The worst experience with a bus company we ever had. And looks like they simply cheat on their customers.
So, what they do - they sell you a more expensive ticket for more convenient bus and then just rebook you on a cheaper one without any refund for the difference in price.
I booked a ride a night before my kid had to travel with her Gandmum, and there were 2 options for the same route: a one for 100 euro for 2 pax arriving earlier in the evening and also with a bit shorter travel time, and one - late in the evening, 54 euro. I intentionally bought the first option as there was a kid and senior travelling. Next morning just 1 hour before estimated departure time I got an email that my trip was changed to the later one (the one which costed almost half of it). And when i requested a refund for that (as i could have booked it myself and even save money!), they only claimed that they were so kind to rebook me to another bus free of charge, and since i travelled - no refund is possible. While that was there issue of cancelling the earlier bus!

(AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE, JUST USE FLIXBUS) Wrong communicated Bus stop (won't admit / issue refund)

I booked a bus for my Dad to go from Utrecht to Bordeaux. We were there since 22:20 and did not move until 23:00 (when I saw on the app that the bus departed). We did spot the bus (1698) passing by the station but he never stopped. In that station there was a notice that said that this station was moved to C8 (for Flixbus only). However, the ticket and email both stated that the bus would arrive at Jaarbeursplein 24, so we stayed there. The communication is horrendous (wrong in both the email and ticket) but they would not admit it / issue a refund since we were only a couple of passengers. The response from support is that the bus left from "Utrecht", that is very vague and not a station.

Maybe it did leave from Utrecht but definitely not from Jaarbeursplein 24 as we were physically there for 40 minutes. This was 100 euros trip + having to stay an additional night in NL + having to book an alternative last minute.

EDIT (21/10/2025): I did file another complaint after the reply below from the customer support. I got the same response from someone that does not even bother to read the description well. I have photos of both bus platforms, a photo of where current BlaBlaCar buses stop and my ticket showing that the platform stated there is different from the one used by BlaBlaCar these days. I will file a complaint with the dutch Consumer Protection Agency

I was scammed by one of their drivers

I was scammed by one of their drivers. They have offered me a €90 voucher which I can’t use but won’t transfer me the money I am owed.

They clearly have no monitoring of their drivers practices, and are now actively ignoring my correspondence regarding a scam perpetrated by their driver. It is a shocking corporate attitude.

They’ve now just replied below with a generic reply despite the fact they know full well about the situation.

Avoid! 45 mins late and terrible customer service

Booked the BlaBlaBus from Biarritz Airport to San Sebastián. It arrived at the airport more than 30 minutes late, causing me to miss my connection in San Sebastián. BlaBlaBus agreed they owed me a partial refund but would only issue it as a voucher, which I can't use because I'm already back home in the US. And even if I wasn't, I would not trust them to get me to my destination on time! Avoid!

Bus late for 4hours, not even full refund

Bought a ticket for a bus, it was late 4hours so we took another one. Requested a refund for the ticket, that costed me 21,99 euros and refund I got was 19,99 euros. I attached the price I paid to them but they do not care. Overall just don’t even try to use their services. The other bus ticket was 12 euros, their markup is just insane

Bus never showed up

Bus never showed up and when we asked blablacar drivers of other destinations they had no idea of our bus, they were generally very indifferent and not helpful at all and I had to find a way to go back home last minute. Very unreliable do not recommend

Untrustworthy platform

Drivers lack commitment and responsibility, constantly arriving late, canceling rides last minute, and often treating passengers poorly. And BlaBlacar isn't doing much to punish bad drivers. The platform doesn't allow you to review drivers who at the last minute cancel rides, so the score given to drivers is not trustworthy at all, it is the perfect platform for irresponsible drivers. Very disappointed with the service.
