N.A.Robson Ltd / Blastsparesdirect.com is a 3 generation company. Started back in 1943 by Norman Albert Robson (NAR). The Company started off in the construction / plant hire business and overtime developed and expanded into hiring Air compressors, which paved the way into the abrasive blast cleaning (Sandblasting) industry in the 1960's / 70's. We have a full in house blasting service that we operate with 2 large blast rooms and 6 Blast cabinets. Ian Robson then moved the company forward in the development of many different abrasive blasting machines & products. In 1988 partnered with Schmidt manufacturing, to make the Accustrip Soft abrasive brand and introduce this product to the UK & European market. He also helped with the development of many abrasive valves. By 1993 it had developed and manufactured its own range of blasting equipment, nozzles and SOFT Abrasives systems with the ECOSTRIP brand name. The company still manufactures and develops many products for the blast cleaning industry worldwide. In the early 2000's we became the European distributor for Sponge Jet Inc. Sponge blasting is a 90-95% dustless blasting process in open blasting. We now manufacture our own range of Sponge media and machinery under our Spongerite name, which is fast becoming the leader in sponge blasting for equipment and sponge media. DJ Robson came into the company in 2003 and started off on the shop floor, blasting and learning the products & taking the company to the next chapter. During this time the industry has changed and the company has adapted & moved forward to become a leading manufacture and supplier of abrasive blast cleaning equipment and abrasive media. We are still making new in roads in the industry with new products, Valves and revolutionary Nozzles which we bring to market all the time and still to this day have a full hire fleet of mobile road compressors and Blasting equipment.
