👉 Square failed my customer
👉 Square failed my customer. Then they failed me — a disabled veteran small business owner.
On Aug 9, 2025, Square’s app displayed a $25 Visa payment as approved and even prompted for a receipt. After the customer left, the app threw an error and the transaction vanished.
I reported this immediately. Instead of investigating, Square closed the case, citing identity issues — even though later agents verified the same details without issue.
When I tried to record my support call for accountability, I was told I could not. When I asked if Square was recording me, I was told they could.
Issues:
❌ Misrepresented “approved” payment
❌ Case closed without proper investigation
❌ Double standard on recording — they can, merchants can’t
❌ No transparency in a regulated payment system
As a disabled veteran and small business owner, I expect fairness and accountability from companies handling my customers’ money. Instead, Square and Block left me carrying the cost of their system’s failure.
