What a wonderful experience, from he moment we were welcomed to the moment we left, it was amazing. Matt was an excellent tour guide and extremely knowledgeable and open to any topic. Our good friends joined us from NJ and my husband and I came in from Ohio. Blue Hawaiian was recommended by our dear friends and it did not disappoint. Breathtakingly beautiful and an experience that will never be forgotten.
Mahalo Nui Loa!
Worst experience of our honeymoon! Scam and Fraud! Buyer beware! We literally had to walk out without even flying. When we booked directly on the phone with Blue Hawaiian (Kayla took our call and money), she said that because I am 6’4” and 250 pounds there would be an extra fee for being “fat.” (Note: I actually have a football player build.) We booked directly because we know companies have to pay commissions to concierge but that didn’t help us at all (even though they were making $100-150 in extra profit vs. if we booked with a concierge). Kayla said not to worry though that I would get the front seat for paying the extra ~$150 on top of the $400 we already paid. When we go into pay, we encounter absolutely awful customer service staff, Jace, Klani, and Maile. They said that since there were no notes that Kayla gave me the front seat that they wouldn’t honor it and that I would mess everything up if they did. We had to argue with them for 20 minutes to get them to give us a refund as they claimed we were stuck with what we bought. There was no manager available to speak to today (and it was 1PM in the afternoon when this transpired). What company doesn’t have a manager? We liked all the positive reviews and maybe the flying experience is good, but I wouldn’t put up with such rude, thoughtless customer service ever. I will take my $800 to a more professional reputable company. I am a business school MBA professor and attorney; I study customer service for a living. Rarely, out of thousands of cases worldwide have I seen a worst case of customer mistreat. We will be filing a Better Business Bureau complaint and sharing this with a huge consortium of travel advisors with whom I consult. Worst of all my spouse is crushed as this was to be the highlight of the honeymoon!
I purchased 3 tickets 6 months ago for a helicopter trip provided by Blue Hawaiian. I was later informed I would need to pay an additional fee of $170 because of my weight. I requested the fee be waived, which blue hawaiian agreed to. On the day of the flight they demanded the fee anyways. I refused and they would not refund me. I believe they breeched our agreement. Adding a last minute fee, they had already waived, seems very unethical. Seems they are more interested in $$, than the customer experience.
