We, a group of 12 friends just returned after touring the beautiful Sri Lanka for 10D/9N, loaded with wonderful memories to be cherished forever.

Thanks to Blue Lanka, especially Hashini, for the wonderful planning, coordination and execution which was really great from the beginning to the end of the trip. Everything was well planned, hotels were comfortable and all arrangements were handled professionally. Her coordination and quick responses made a big difference for our tailor-made plan.

Our tour guide Anton Bruce was smart, friendly, professional and flexible with our needs and made sure every day of the tour was enjoyable and comfortable. Burce made sure that we covered every place as per the plan finalised.

We really appreciate our van driver Lahiru & his assistant Buddhika for the smooth drive around the country. He was very careful while driving even in difficult and narrow hilly & winding roads, which made use relax during the long drives.

We zeroed in on Blue Lanka for this tour after reading the large number of very positive reviews and now after our tour, I can certainly recommend to go with Blue Lanka for a reliable, stress-free & no surprise tour of Sri Lanka.

We recently came back from a 16 night, bespoke tour around Sri Lanka booked through Blue Lanka.

Buddhi worked with us to create our perfect itinerary including visits to UNESCO World Heritage sites, Little England and Tea Country, as well as jeep safaris to spot wildlife and a few days of relaxation at the end of our trip. Communication with Buddhi was fantastic and she recommended the most fabulous hotels to stay in on our trip.

Our driver and tour guide Nuwan was excellent. Nuwan had a great eye for spotting wildlife, was extremely knowledgeable about all things Sri Lanka yet gave us enough space that we could enjoy the holiday together as a couple, and very friendly. We never had to wait for Nuwan and liked that he was adaptable to our needs each day, making additional stops on the way to help us better understand Sri Lanka and see special sites. We could tell that Nuwan was very experienced as a tour guide as he had everything organised ahead of time and made calls to ensure other vendors were prepared. He also understood what we would want out of the tour as a younger couple and made plans to reflect that.

During our holiday, my partner proposed, and my now fiancée told me Nuwan was instrumental in making my partners plans come to life. It was a dream proposal and I can’t thank Nuwan enough for helping to make it happen.

Nuwan was a fantastic tour guide and we can’t praise him enough. We will definitely recommend him and Blue Lanka to our friends and family when visiting Sri Lanka and will seek him out when we visit the north!

I don't even know where to start. I had the most amazing time in Sri Lanka.

I sketched elephants bathing in a river in Pinnawala, climbed up a mountain to visit the Dambulla Cave Temple - the most breathtaking place my eyes have ever seen and watched the traditional dancing show in Kandy....

The whole experience was amazing, but the thing that made it perfect was being accompanied by such lovely people, for that I want to personally thank our guide Dhanuskha and our driver Madushan from Blue Lanka for showing us their beautiful country.

Blue Lanka worked with us to create a two week tour. Buddhi took time to listen to our requests and responded quickly to our emails. The service was friendly and professional. The end result was a fabulous adventure in beautiful Sri Lanka.
When we were there, we were guided capably by Dilan and were lucky to have a wonderful driver in Jayson. They were our day-to-day contact and they worked tirelessly to ensure that our trip was smooth and enjoyable. I see it as two parts: the office arranges the trip and the guide and driver facilitate, with their valuable insights to the itinerary that has been created.
I would highly recommend using Blue Lanka to arrange your trip and I would also say that doing your own pre-planning research is invaluable. That way you get the trip you want but can leave the arrangements and practicalities to Blue Lanka.

Wow, what is there to say about our trip to Sri Lanka and the exceptional service we had from the Blue Lanka team.

It started during the planning phase when we linked in with Yuresha to agree the route, hotels and sites to visit on our 10 day visit. She was helpful, interested and advised on what we could and should see. The communication throughout was excellent including a couple of WhatsApp calls to get it all finalised. Payment was through a $ portal in two equal halves. I was also able to arrange two surprises.

We landed at a god early time, 2.30am, and there to meet us where our driver Madushan and our guide Dhanuskha. They were happy, smiley and gave us each a gift to celebrate my son's birthday. They took us straight to our first hotel in Colombo and agreed to pick us up the following day at 8am.

Throughout the trip Dhanuskha was informative, discussing the impact of the Empire, successive governments and the changes in the last year. We discussed the impact of the Nov 25 cyclone and he gave us detailed briefings on what we were going to see that day.

Madushan had the tricky task of getting us around the island on time. There is a lot of driving as Sri Lanka is big and mountainous, and we had some very 'interesting' encounters with the local dogs and wildlife.

Looking back the whole trip was beyond our hopes and expectations. The highlights were:
climbing Lion's rock,
Visit to Polonnaruwa Ancient City on a holy day
Kandy city and Sacred Tooth Temple
Sinharaja Rain Forest stay, what a drive!
Galle city.

We were a party of 5 and my son's birthday was whilst we were there. Also my wife and i are celebrating a significant wedding anniversary this year. Yuresha arranged a birthday cake and then a celebration cake for us at two of the hotels for no cost. This reflects their help and consideration to us on our trip.

The troubles in the Middle East kicked off when we were there and as we were expecting to fly through Qatar had to make some very quick alternative flights through Singapore.

The Blue Lanka team got us an additional night in Galle and then kept Dhanuskha and Madushan with us until we were safely at the airport.

I cannot do justice to the country or the people and would strongly recommend that when the world returns to a sense of normality you visit and use Blue Lanka to organise it all.

My final thought is a huge thankyou to Dhanuskha and Madushan for taking the time to show us their beautiful country.

It is uncertain times for them and I hope I have been able to accurately reflect our trip.

We had a fantastic 18 day tailor made tour of Sri Lanka which was organised by the wonderful Yuresha from Blue Lanka. From the start she listened to what we wanted and created a fantastic trip. Our guide/driver was Sanjeewa who was also absolutely amazing, his professionalism and kindness made our trip so enjoyable especially his love of nature which brought to life our nature trails and safaris. We recently returned from a trip to Sri Lanka that was very well organized and truly a great experience for our group.
Our holiday started with a sightseeing tour around the island, followed by a few relaxing days at the beach. We were a group of six and had our own private guide and driver throughout the trip. They were always punctual, helpful, and made sure everything went smoothly. It was really comfortable having dedicated people taking care of us during the whole journey.
The entire trip was arranged by the agency via email. Communication was excellent – I always received quick replies and never had to wait long for any information. The itinerary was not taken from a ready-made offer; it was fully customized according to my preferences. They really listened to what I wanted and prepared a program that suited us perfectly.
Our guide was with us all the time and handled all communication with local people, which made everything much easier and more comfortable for us.

Our driver was great – very professional and drove us safely at all times. The car was comfortable and well-suited for longer distances. All entrance tickets were included in the price, so we didn’t have to worry about organizing anything ourselves. Everything was arranged in advance, which made the trip stress-free and very enjoyable.
Overall, it was a great experience and a really well-prepared trip. We are very happy with how everything was organized and would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking for a personalized and smoothly managed holiday.

We truly enjoyed our trip. The tour guide, Manas was fantastic — informative, patient, and very engaging with the group. He was very attentive to us as a group, and on an individual basis. Manas is a genuinely nice person, very passionate about his work and it was evident that he thoroughly enjoyed interacting with us. Prinyank was attentive and supportive, making sure everyone was comfortable and on schedule. Lucky, the driver did an amazing job navigating safely and smoothly.
Everything was well organized, and the teamwork between the guide, helper, and driver made the whole experience seamless and enjoyable. Highly recommend!

We did a 7-day private tour of Sri Lanka with Blue Lanka Tours and couldn’t have imagined a better way to experience the country.

Everything was perfectly organised from start to finish. Communication was excellent, the itinerary ran smoothly, and we felt completely looked after the entire time. A special highlight was when they arranged a birthday cake for my mom during the trip — such a thoughtful touch.

Our driver and guide, Thushara Udayanga, was outstanding: knowledgeable, professional, attentive, and always punctual. We felt safe and well cared for throughout the journey.

The mountain scenery and the train ride over the Nine Arches Bridge were unforgettable.

We had a well planned tour which covered everything we wanted to see and discover. Yuresha was absolutely great in the planning and execution of the plan. She also took the time to check in on us on a regular basis . The driver Imran was also amazing and ensured that we were safe and comfortable. He also took us to see things we asked of him . Blue Lanka was really great and will certainly recommend them to my friends or anyone wanting to travel to Sri Lanka

I am leaving this review about my experience with Blu Lanka with a heavy heart. I contacted this agency after reading numerous positive reviews, but unfortunately, my experience was nothing like what others have described.

I planned a 13-day family trip and transferred the advance payment in AUD. My mistake was not confirming in advance what exchange rate would be applied—I trusted the agency to be fair and transparent, which turned out to be a serious error. They applied an exchange rate of AUD 1 = USD 0.5383 (21/05/2025), which is almost 0.10 lower than the actual market rate. In fact, at no point in 2025 did the exchange rate drop to the level they applied. I was appalled by this practice.

After extensive discussions, I realised that this agency cannot be trusted. However, since half of the payment had already been made, I had no option but to proceed with the package.

I clearly informed the agency that I was travelling with childrens and expected an itinerary tailored accordingly. Instead, what was provided was a very basic and uninspired package with 3rd class train tickets in a crowded train with no seats.

Thankfully, our guide Danushka (freelancer) and driver Maturanka were absolutely amazing. Danushka transformed Blu Lanka’s ordinary itinerary into something special. He was prompt, knowledgeable, and proactive—suggesting meaningful changes and add-ons such as safaris and village tours etc. Both Danushka and Maturanka played a huge role in making our holiday memorable. Without them, the trip could have been a disaster.

If you are planning a holiday with Blu Lanka, please be extremely cautious. Clarify every detail in advance and do not rely on trust alone.

We booked a custom 13-night itinerary, and from the very beginning the process was incredibly easy. The consultants were so helpful, accommodating, and responsive, with fast replies and thoughtful recommendations. They were far more flexible, reasonable, and efficient than other tour companies we considered, which made the whole planning process completely stress-free.

The tour company even took note of our anniversary celebration and surprised us with a beautiful cake, which was such a thoughtful and memorable touch and really made us feel cared for.

Our driver, Terrance, was absolutely 5-star. He was always punctual, spoke excellent English, and was consistently positive, friendly, and professional. He was extremely knowledgeable, very helpful throughout the trip, and always accommodating and flexible to our needs, which made a huge difference to our overall experience.

Most of the hotels were clean and comfortable, with great staff and service. A small thing to note is that some hotels were not centrally located, so you would need a driver or transport to head out for dinner or into town.

Sri Lanka is a beautiful country with so much to see, and planning this trip through Blue Lanka was well worth it. It was so nice to have a completely seamless holiday, with transport organised the entire way and someone reliable to handle all the tricky parts without wasting time. Their local knowledge and contacts gave us experiences we simply wouldn’t have had otherwise.

One note for future travellers: I wouldn’t recommend adding Yala Safari. It was extremely busy with too many vehicles and long queues, and the safari driver there was not as good as the first safari we did at Kaudulla Eco Park near Sigiriya, which was an amazing experience and far more enjoyable overall.

Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone traveling to Sri Lanka.

With only 1 day in Colombo, we wanted to make the most of our limited time and Yuresha helped us put together a day trip that focused on the highlights, plus a few custom additions we had found on our own that we wanted to work in.
