A great product ruined, with a software update

This company has just ruined what was a great product with a software update. Beware of buying their devices now. Particularly if you see a review saying how great the music player app is. It used to be, but now it's just as awful as most of the others out there. Sadly I am going to have to consider Sonos again. This is a shame because Sonos doesn't support their hardware for very long.

Since the v 4 update, the play queue seems to be broken or the functionality has been removed. I was about to sell my Sonos system and upgrade with a few Blusound devices but since the update, I am considering just ditching my Node 2i. The best thing about it used to be the play queue which used to remember everything you had played going back months and you could create playlists with it. Now the play queue just gets obliterated each time you select a song or album. TRULY AWFUL and wastes an inordinate amount of time having to rebuild play queues. Also, the fact there is no history or that history gets wiped out so easily is hideous. I hate my Bluesound now.

Poor service, poor Node software and not recommended.

I bought a Node and a Node X in May 2023, directly from Bluesound. Bugs in the Node X with the Subwoofer Out software so I didn’t even open the Node. I sent both units back under the 30-day money-back guarantee. I’ve been waiting almost a month for my refund. I have proof that the Returns were delivered to them. Not impressed at all.

Update 4th July 2023.
I loathe this company. Today I received an email from Bluesound saying they have refunded me except £40. I wrote to them and asked why. They said it was because I did not tell them why I was returning the Node X. I did tell them in May, before they authorised the Return on 7th June 2023.
I have had to write back and forth to them today, pointing out the date of my email and sending them copies. This evening they apologised and have said they will refund me the £40. What a hassle.

I had to remind and chase up Bluesound several times to refund me.

I cannot recommend this company. Their replies take ages and they tried to con me out of £40. Ludicrous.
Buyer beware.

Bluesound FML

Bluesound FML
Getting this online and working, over time, is hopeless. Unstable crap full of bugs. Soon the soundbar, flex, sub and powernode will go straight to the trash. Selling this stuff will just give me a headache.
HiFi klubben should be ashamed for selling it.

Vault 2 - Inferior Materials

I purchased a Bluesound Vault 2 a few years ago and have been happy with its performance; however, I noticed the rubberized material the unit is incased in has started deteriorating. It is slowly becoming sticky and shiny. This attracts dust and lint, and it looks terrible now. My unit sat on a shelf in a climate controlled room with at least two feet of open space on all sides, so this problem is not due to a harsh environment. I contacted Bluesound about this and they told me it was a known issue they feel has been resolved in later models, but they made no attempt to rectify the issue with my unit. I paid a considerable amount for that item and I don't feel it unreasonable to expect it would be constructed of materials that would last more than a few years. As a result, they lost me as a customer.

I bought the PowerNode (N100). It worked until an update bricked it (permanent red light). Now, I have to pay for repairs since BlueSound is refusing to cover the cost. I believe that you should pay when you break something, hence, I consider this an extremally bad experience.

Bluesound don’t care about their customers. AVOID!

The Bluesound Node might sound good when it works, but you are screwed when it fails to work. Spend your money elsewhere!!

After some careful research, I purchased a Bluesound Node about 6 months ago. Initially I was very happy with its performance and it’s connectivity…

It all went wrong when the latest firmware revision came along. My Node will longer connect to my network drive, meaning I am now unable to listen to my own music collection.

A search on the internet reveals that I’m not alone. Many owners have suffered similar results - mainly if they own older NAS units.

So I contacted Bluesound support. My hopes were dashed very quickly. The support guy mentioned a further revision being developed, but couldn’t offer any more help and closed my case.

I waited a few weeks. No firmware revision yet, so I contacted Bluesound support again. This time I was told that there would be no solution and I have to sort the problem myself. He closed my case - effectively saying “We don’t care. Go away”.

The only solution I have is to purchase a new NAS - probably £400 or more. That isn’t happening.

I’m off to the retailer to return my Node. I hope I can get a refund. It is now pretty useless tbh.

My advice - don’t be blinded by all the positive reviews of this company’s offerings. They are a bunch of charlatans and you will do well to avoid them. Spend wisely - you will need product support at some point - once this lot have your money, you are screwed. You have been warned!

Do NOT buy BlueSound!!!! Terrible Experience!

This is a follow-up to your previous request #263672 "Hello guys,

So…this has gone on long enough. My ..."

So Nishchal assured me on Friday, March 18, that this ticket would remain open until items were resolved. IT IS NOW CLOSED AND SAYS SOLVED!!!! IT IS NOT SOLVED. I sent two messages on Saturday and one on Monday regarding the issues I am still experiencing, and there has been no response. But, the ticket was closed (am not even able to respond by clicking "no, I'm not satisfied").

I HAVE TRULY HAD ENOUGH!!!! I am boxing up your equipment this weekend and will sue your company & Lenbrook for my money back. YOUR COMPANY HAS NO SCRUPLES OR CONSCIENCE and your products are completely unready for consumer consumption.

I will be very glad to take you to court, to seeks costs and attorneys fees, and to let the world know about the absolute and complete inadequacies or your products and the COMPLETE and TOTAL INCOMPETENCE of technical support AND UNBELIEVABLE DISREGARD for customer service/satisfaction.

You guys do not deserve to be in business.

Bluesound equipment - Flaky!

Bluesound equipment not for the faint-hearted or those of us without an IT degree. Mis-sold a Powernode and Pulse speaker by Audio T in Reading who claimed they had no problems with previous sales. Have had to key in the broadband password in excess of forty times and then the equipment was not found by my phone or tablet. Flaky at the best of times, the items take it in turns to flash and disappear from the network. Bluesound have failed to respond to my queries.

DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY! DO NOT BUY!!

When my system works, two Pulse speakers and 2 mini Pulse speakers, it sounds wonderful. But in the past two years I’ve owned them, they all work maybe only 30 days. The speakers go out and the app claims they don’t exist. Sometimes two work but not the other two. Sometimes only one work. The app is ridiculous. It doesn’t recognize the speaker and claims it can’t find the network even as all my other electronics have no problem. I’ve written and spoke to Bluesound so many times I can’t even count. Mostly I hear nothing back. The one time they got back to me and took me through hooking all four speakers up, it took about 2 hours before we got them to work. However days later none worked. I repeated the process but couldn’t get them to work. As I write this only one speaker will work and the app claim no network is available. When I enter my network manually, it says I was successful but then upon checking it says that no network is found. Beyond frustrating. After spending hundreds of dollars for this system, I have no music to listen to.
I HATE THIS SYSTEM! TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY! DO NOT BUY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!

NAD and Bluesound Zero Support

Bought a NAD C275BEE Power Amplifier together with a Bluesound Vault 2 approx 5 years ago in Denmark. The amp developed a fault and ceased working. NAD seem uninterested in repairing the amplifier. They operate via Sevenoaks Hi Fi in the UK and their repair service is simply closed due to CV19. I took the amp to my local repair shop and they diagnosed the fault but NAD will not supply them with spare parts! They said to take it to Sevenoaks Hi-Fi but as previously stated they are closed and not accepting repairs. So, I have a £1,000 power amp that does not work and NAD are just not interested in fixing. I will NEVER buy NAD or Bluesound again as the back up is terrible.

Don’t buy direct if in UK

I love Bluesound products but when I bought a Pulse mini 2i from their website recently I was held responsible for paying import charges (amounting to £116), when it was not at all clear on their direct UK sales website that the product would be imported. In fact the website advertises that the price is fully inclusive of VAT, which seems to me a pretty clear case of misleading information. I finally found a way to raise this with their distributor (they don’t seem to have any direct sales customer service), who refused to countenance a refund of the difference - in spite of the fact that if I had bought it at the same price from a third party dealer in the uk, bluesound would have been responsible for the import costs (in that they would have ended up making much less of a profit on the product).
