The entire application process was transparent, incredibly fast, and highly respectful from the very beginning.
The interviews with Marie weren't stiff, robotic Q&A sessions, but rather genuine conversations on equal footing. Alongside professional qualifications, a huge emphasis was placed on whether we would vibe well on a human level.
There was a clearly structured onboarding plan for my first few weeks and I was welcomed with open arms and felt like part of the group on day one.
I highly recommend Blu to anyone looking for a career move!

Since my initial review, Mandy van Paridon from Blu Selection reached out.
Her email was professional and kind, but it contained a startling admission that every candidate needs to hear:
The agency has effectively stopped placing candidates with Teleperformance.
The recruiter stated that TP’s standards regarding salary and accommodation no longer meet the agency's requirements, and they are distancing themselves from the BPO industry as a whole. While I appreciate this shift, it raises a massive red flag: Why was I, as a senior professional, used as a guinea pig for an "opportunity" that they now admit was below standard?
1. The Request to Delete
The primary goal of their "kind" email was a request to reconsider (delete) my review. I am refusing. If the agency has truly changed its policy because of the toxic conditions I described, then my review serves as the necessary evidence for why that change had to happen.
2. The Cost of Inexperience
The recruiter admitted she was "new" at the time and relied on the BPO’s marketing. However, she has since been promoted to "Senior Recruiter." Her career grew through these placements, while I was left to navigate a "survival battle" in Lisbon involving shared housing with addicts and dangerous living conditions (including messing with rat poison!).
3. Financial Disparity
While the agency markets these as "adventures," the financial reality is predatory. Dutch-speaking roles often carried €3,000 signing bonuses that went straight to the agency as commission. The candidate is left with a "private insurance" card that is actually a high-cost discount card (Allianz) and a salary that barely covers groceries in a hostile local market.
Yes, the "welcoming atmosphere" is a myth; the local population is understandably hostile toward the BPO workers and migrants replacing them.
4. The Last Resort
The agency pitched this as a career move, but these BPOs are the absolute endpoint of the job market - employing those who cannot find work elsewhere. Placing a senior professional in such an environment is a professional insult.
Conclusion:
I am maintaining my 1-star rating. It is good that the agency is finally backing away from these BPO traps, but a polite email and a "change in policy" do not undo the damage already done. My review stays up as a permanent warning: do not let a "kind" recruiter lure you into a situation they haven't even verified themselves.
