My experience at the body clinic was very unpleasant and dissatisfying
My experience at the body clinic was very unpleasant. From the moment I arrived, I sensed an atmosphere that felt more transactional than compassionate. Although the doctor (Hugo) greeted me with a smile, it lacked warmth and genuine welcome. I have minimal acne scars on my cheeks specifically, just two small ones and I was hopeful for a thoughtful, personalized approach. Instead, I felt as though I was simply another appointment on a busy schedule.
When I asked about the price, I stated that I thought it was substantial considering it only concerned two small acne scars. The doctor's response to my statement came with an undertone that suggested I should feel grateful for the service (“Yeah, you’re paying for the service!). This left me feeling belittled and pressured, as if my concerns were secondary to the transaction. I remember asking about the possibility of booking an appointment for another time. The doctor mentioned that "I already booked a consultation and a treatment on the system", adding as well that he has a busy schedule. This pressured me to make a hasty decision to proceed on the spot.
Thereafter, the doctor put the numbing creme on my cheeks and informed me that the numbing cream would take 30 minutes to be absorbed. However, I was called back in under 10 minutes, which felt rushed and impersonal. The doctor injected filler into my cheeks without asking further open-ended questions about my other concerns, particularly regarding the acne scars on my temple area (which also needed treatment). This oversight made me feel invisible, my specific needs went unrecognized, and I couldn’t help but feel that the encounter was more about completing a task than providing care.
After the procedure, as the bruising subsided, I was disheartened to see no noticeable improvement. The experience left me reflecting on how I felt more like a transaction than a patient deserving of attention and care. I invested not only my money but my hope for improvement, and instead, I came away feeling rushed and unsatisfied.
