Premium Branding Meets Shoddy Construction: The Bolia Noora Story
The Bolia Noora sofa is a textbook example of form completely sacrificing function. For a “premium” product costing over €7,000 after tremendous discounts, the workmanship is shockingly poor: one leg snapped during basic installation, the provided screws barely engage the frame, and the wooden structure underneath is visibly cracked from missing pilot holes. Instead of receiving a flagship piece of Scandinavian design, we got something that feels like a rushed, poorly inspected assembly‑line job, where the first few hours of ownership required DIY structural repairs just to sit on it safely. At the store it looks marvelous though.
On top of the physical defects, Bolia’s post‑sale support is both dismissive and impractical. The company refuses to address the broader risk of hidden damage, will not offer local inspection in Spain, and expects customers to accept replacing only a single module while potentially living with an entire sofa that may be compromised. The lack of on‑site service, combined with an insistence on a 10‑year warranty that excludes “wear and tear” while ignoring the fact that the sofa arrived broken in the first place, makes the purchase feel less like a luxury investment and more like a high‑risk gamble.
