I recently had the pleasure of visiting this high-end salon after being invited in as a model by Indie, a trainee stylist specialising on this occasion in short hair styling, pixie cut. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and at ease.

Indie introduced me to her mentor, Mel, who is clearly an exceptionally skilled and highly professional hairdresser. Mel carried out my cut and blow dry as part of a “show and tell” session, guiding Indie through each step with clarity, confidence, and genuine passion for her craft.

I can honestly say this is one of the best haircuts I’ve had in a very very long time. Mel was incredibly articulate and informative throughout, taking the time to explain techniques and ensure both Indie and I felt comfortable at every stage.

It’s evident that Indie is learning from a fantastic mentor, and I have no doubt she has a very bright future ahead in the industry.

A truly wonderful experience from start to finish — thank you both!

I wish I would have checked the reviews here before wasting my time and money. Very disappointing service and cut. The stylist didn’t seem to understand what I wanted even though I showed her a photo of the same cut because I’d had it before and because there was no heat or products used I came out with very frizzy hair. Won’t be returning.

Awful salon! Unless you already have a trusted stylist at this hairdressers, I would not recommend, risking your hard earned money at this place. They destroyed my hair with bleach, I spent the whole time sat there with them “trying to fix it”. Which they did not. The staff are unprofessional and don’t follow up with complaints. They will just ignore your emails when trying to rectify the situation. Disgusting company that is happy to overcharge, steal your money and ignore you after the fact. Don’t risk it!

Do not go to this salon as they don’t keep the privacy of your personal information.
I went to the salon today to discuss a breaching of my privacy by the receptionist. The salon manager was very rude with me and she didn’t want to help me at all in my concerns or to satisfy me .

I've been having my hair cut and coloured at Bonimini for years. It used to be a brilliant salon - you felt looked after and treated as soon as you walked through the door, from the smiling, helpful receptionist through to the choice of magazines, great coffee and of course, great stylists and hairdressers. At some point, they've got a bit complacent. For me, it hasn't been the same since covid where I felt they treated their loyal customers badly - cutting everything good about the experience out, but charging the same didn't feel right. I've hung on in there though and carried on going. Today marked a turning point for me. The hairdresser was non-communicative, she was so rough with my hair when pulling the foils out and washing my hair it brought tears to my eyes. The water kept switching from boiling hot to freezing cold. You usually get a head massage - nothing today. I left with soaking wet hair, looking worse than when I came in, but £120 less well off. It isn't cheap! There used to be a loyalty scheme, but it seems this has been quietly dropped. It was a poor experience and I think enough is enough now...it's time to go elsewhere.

I came in for a cut and though the cut was what I wanted, I was charged extra for a 'restyle' because the stylist spent 15 minutes more on my hair (I wasn't told this prior or asked if this was ok or given any other option) Something didn't feel right. I paid and left, felt rushed and realised I had left my favourite silver hoop earrings because I took them off to be comfortable. I messaged them straight away and they said they would keep them for me to pick up. I returned to the salon 2 weeks later (busy mom - this salon is at the other side of town from me) just to find out my earrings were gone/lost (stolen?). No real apology, nothing. Very unsympathetic, rude. AVOID.

Really unprofessional roots job done by the manager Sam.
No apologies.
No attempt at refund (they don't do them apparently?)
They don't acknowledge when they have perhaps made a mistake?
Bad/unprofessional communication.
Have waited for month for n proper response (endless emails with pictures of the bad and expensive job) but no conclusion.
Some of the stylists are renowned for being very good here (and I'm sure they are) but not this one!

I love my cut and colour by Kirby, one of the stylists at Bonomini. He layered my unruly hair and put in beautiful highlights - four different colours - and it looks terrific. He took an amazing amount of trouble to get it right. It was a bonus that Kirby was fun to talk to and that the products they use in the salon are fabulous. I will be going back regularly. Highly recommended.

I have high expectations when it comes to hair stylists. After all, a decent colour & hair style can cost quite a lot. I noticed Kat when visiting Bonomini on previous occasions. In particular, I noticed her energy and passion. I saw how happy her clients seemed to be with the end result. I decided I wanted to book an appointment with her & today has my first colour & hair cut with Kat.

As I’d witnessed with her other clients, I was delighted with the results. Thankyou Kat. I feel great & absolutely love the colour & style.

I booked a senior director cut and finish which costs £60 for a shoulder length bob style, and the result is more than disappointing. Patchy ends, unevenness throughout, sides of hair completely jagged. Wish I could share photos here to show how basic the cut should be and how bad it turned out. I would have imagined that a decent bob cut is one of the basics any competent hairdresser should be able to deliver. This bad experience shows that even a senior director at Bonomini can't do haircuts. Avoid this salon.

Hi Guys this is genuine feedback about miracle stylist at Bonomini Katina dimitrou Taylor Been going there for past 2 years such a Gem stylist never let me down say for cut or even colouring my hairs she explains v well n listens to understand need and provide fabulous results Highly Recommend

I had a great experience, i am more than glad to have found this super talented hairstylist and salon. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Katina was lovely and exceptionally good at her job. She really listened to what i wanted and gave me the best results from what i expected. She explained me everything and delivered what she promised. Can not thank her enough for such a fab job. Definitely i would not go anywhere else now, love these guys they have an excellent customer service and would highly recommend to anyone that wants a change in hair. katina and bonomini thank you so much for everything, would be back really soon!! xx

So disappointed for my daughter with her experience at this hair salon.
She wanted her hair coloured for her Christmas present from us, and chose this salon after a lot of research. It was on the expensive side, but we wanted her to be happy with the results and her present.
She had it done just before coming home for Christmas.
She went in and had a chat and they said all the right things. She really believed they understood what she wanted.
The results said otherwise. Even the cut she had was wonky. The colour was very yellow and very unnatural looking. She went back the next day, the day she was travelling home. They agreed mistakes had been made and re-did some of it. But she was VERY clearly told any further work would be charged for.
She was still very unhappy with the results but didn’t want to cost us any more and she was coming home.
When she got home she was so upset we agreed to pay for her to have it corrected, but as she was now 3 hrs away from this salon AND because she had lost faith and confidence in them AND because she’d been told it would be chargeable, she had it done at a salon we trusted here as we believed we would have to pay either way. She spent 4 hours getting it sorted.
She is now really happy with her hair and if very much reflects the images she showed both salons.

I contacted this salon to complain. I would like some sort of refund for what o have had to pay out to have this put right.

I was told that she wouldn’t have been told there was further charges and the only thing they could do is see her again and re-do it.

I do not appreciate them suggesting my daughter was lying.

She doesn’t want them touching her hair again. They didn’t spend much time correcting it the day after and she doesn’t believe they are capable.

I resent the tone and attitude of the salon.

This situation could have been corrected had they just accepted mistakes had been made, that her coming back in was not an option, and offering a goodwill gesture towards the costs I have incurred.

I would not have felt the need to complain publicly.

Instead they have been nothing but rude and unsympathetic, and made me so much more angry and resentful towards them.

My advice is avoid this salon. There are much nicer places to get your hair done where they treat you with the respect you deserve as a customer.

Have been going here for over a year now and it’s the best my hair has ever looked! I get compliments every time I have my colour done. Just went for the chop again and I love it. Have been seeing Kat since I first changed salons and she is pretty amazing.

Visited Bonomini between Apr - Sept 2017. MOST EXPENSIVE WAY TO RUIN MY HAIR!!!!
Long story short - I was honest about the henna on my hair from the initial consultation, but was given assurances that they could help. I spent 4 months and nearly £400, to have my hair bleached, and cleansed, and bleached and cleansed...with red roots. Not a single hair on my head is without a split end and my hair is RUINED. Am 32 years old, and am depressed about my hair = red roots (requested no red in my hair), bleached ends (made it clear that I didn't want to be blonde), and green / blue running through it all from the henna (which they assured me they would deal with and all would be fine).

I can't leave home, be at work, or socialise, without ANY confidence. My hair is an awful colour, in a horrendous state, and I am short of about £400 (half my savings!).

Cannot recommend enough that people NOT go to this salon. I was robbed. Lied to. And made to feel like a nuisance and a liar.

So depressed.

I have had the WORST experience with Bonomini and I feel it only right to warn anyone who might be thinking of having their hair done here. Just DON'T! There are so many better places in Bristol. I went in just over 10 days ago as I had a 50% of discount through a friend. If I'd known my hair would eventually cost me £220 I would have gone back to my all time favourite hairdressers, AKA Hair on Gloucester Road. At my initial appointment, I showed the hairdresser a photo of the blonde bob I wanted. It really was a straightforward job as it only required lightening my roots as my hair was beautifully blonde the other three quarters of the length, and I required a cut. The hairdresser ended up making my hair BRIGHT orange for which she charged me over £70. She knew that my hair was awfully orange herself and said I needed to come back in to have it redone as she didn't have time then. She wasn't working the next day so I had to make it for a week later. I came in to the next appointment so concerned that she was going to mess my hair up more. I asked if we should make the roots darker, in a ombre/balayage effect. She said no, she needed to bleach the roots again and all would be well. All was NOT well. This time I left with my whole head of hair, pee yellow. I was so embarrassed that I had to keep my hair covered for all my meetings and appointments. My friends and family were mortified at what had been done to my hair. AND! She charged me a further £104 for it! I wrote an email to Bonomini and was invited in for a consultation and a treatment as now my hair was also breaking. The specialist colourist booked me in for that Saturday to fix the mess - 'free of charge'. Again, I came in nervous about what would happen. A second opinion from another senior stylist and it was agreed I had no choice but to stay yellow or go darker because my hair was so damaged I couldn't bleach it again. Really this was no option at all, I had to go darker as I couldn't face another day with the yellow on my head. So now I have very dark hair, in my opinion much too dark for my face and not at all what I want my hair to look like. I was also charged a further £30 plus for the pleasure of a proper blow-dry. That's over £200 for hair I absolutely hate. I'm due to compete in a fitness comp early next year and my hair will be nothing like I wanted it for such an important event in my fitness career. I'm absolutely devastated and so out of pocket that I cannot justify going back to my usual hairdresser to have it fixed. It is one thing messing my hairstyle up and leaving me with weak, damaged hair and altogether something else that I should be the one carrying the cost of the total incompetence. This review will be posted on every site that I can find to review this company on. Never have I ever felt so compelled to voice my experience of a business. BEWARE PEOPLE!!! AVOID! I suggest Essentials on Park Row and AKA Hair on Gloucester Road where they'll make you look and feel fabulous.
