My Honest Review of Boostly
I've been running my vacation rental for a 5 years, and I want to share my honest take on Boostly, because it's genuinely changed how I think about hosting.
What stands out most is that Boostly doesn't just hand you generic advice. They give you real, practical tools and strategies for becoming a better host, the kind of things that actually move the needle on guest experience and bookings. From guest communication templates to pricing insights to books and marketing tips, everything feels built by people who actually understand the day-to-day reality of running a short-term rental, not just theory from someone who's never hosted.
The part I appreciate most, though, is their focus on helping hosts build direct bookings and reduce reliance on the big online travel agencies. Airbnb, Booking and VRBO, take a real cut of every booking, and they control so much of how travelers find you. Boostly's approach is about taking some of that control back: building your own brand, your own website, your own guest relationships, so people come back to book with you directly instead of going through a third party every time.
That shift matters. When you're not paying OTA fees on every reservation, you can offer guests a better price while still earning more yourself. It's a genuine win-win: travelers get a fantastic stay at a fair rate, and I get to keep more of what I earn instead of handing a chunk to a platform.
Is it a magic fix? No. Building direct bookings takes real work, and Boostly is upfront about that. It's not a "set it and forget it" solution. But the tools, community, and guidance they provide have given me a clear, honest path forward, and I feel like a stronger, more capable host because of it.
If you're a vacation rental host looking to stand out, get found by the right travelers, and stop leaning so heavily on the OTA's, I'd genuinely recommend giving Boostly a look.!

The October before Covid hit, six years ago, I was struggling with the marketing for our cottages.
I joined Boostly. It wasn’t cheap, I’ll admit — but looking back, it was one of the best decisions I ever made.
Yes, I learned about the “dark art” of marketing, but I gained something far more valuable too: a community. In many ways, a family.
Then Covid hit.
If I’m being truthful, I found myself in a pretty dark place. Like so many of us in hospitality, I didn’t know what the future held for our business.
But the Boostly community was there.
Every single day, Mark went live. Every single day, he showed up, kept in touch with his clients, shared advice, answered questions and, perhaps without even realising it, gave many of us a reason to keep looking forward.
That mattered.
Boostly is more than a company. It’s a community — and like any community, you get the most from it when you put something into it too.
I can genuinely say that Boostly helped keep us going through Covid, both from a business point of view and, for me personally, through some difficult days.
Six years later, I can look back and say that joining Boostly was one of the best decisions I ever made for our business.
If you’re thinking about joining, my advice is simple: do it.
But don’t expect someone else to magically transform your business. Learn, get involved, ask questions, contribute to the community and, most importantly, put the work in.
Do that, and you might just look back six years from now and feel exactly the same way I do.
Boostly Rocks…..❤️❤️

Very good content to help us keep up.
FOR THE FUTURE, I suggest additional focus on:
1: Brand VISIBILITY thru AI, including where is AI sourcing its data?
2. Paid ads via AI

I wholeheartedly recommend Boostly to anyone looking to increase direct bookings and grow your business.
Its been a great experience working with them for our new website. The process is thorough, organized, the team is helpful + they listened to all of my input from start to finish.
What I’ve found to be really valuable is all the practical advice on marketing and growing direct bookings. It’s clear they understand the vacation rental industry and can genuinely help hosts build a stronger business, so much more than just building a nice website. There’s training videos, community, zoom calls, always something fresh and useful. Lots of cutting edge tools at your fingertips, and the resources to learn about using everything. I can’t overstate the importance here , we’ve already seen results and haven’t even scratched the surface yet of what’s available within the CRM.
Thank you to Mark, Anthony, Projects team and the whole Boostly organization. ❤️
Very good - highly recommended.

When I joined Boostly, I thought I was getting a website for direct bookings. Little did I know that I was also gaining access to a dedicated team that was always ready to fix any problem and help me get the most from my site.
Honestly, I don't know what I would do without Mark and the team.

Terrible websites, hidden fees and untrustworthy overall... AVOID.
I genuinely cannot understand how this company has so many 5-star reviews because my experience was the complete opposite.
From the sales call, I feel I was sold a completely different product to what I actually received. I was promised a premium website suitable for a luxury brand. Instead, what I got was a very basic, generic website. I provided detailed instructions and branding, yet most of it was ignored. Honestly, I've seen AI tools like Claude and website builders like Loveable produce better websites in minutes. For something costing over £3,000, the quality wasn't worth a fraction of the price.
The biggest issue is the monthly subscription. It was presented as a hosting, maintenance and optimisation fee, making it sound like an additional service. What wasn't clearly explained is that the website is entirely dependent on paying this fee every month. I believed the £3,000 was to build and own my website, with the monthly fee covering optional support. In reality, the upfront payment is simply the cost of entering an ongoing subscription. They even attempted to take the monthly payment before my website was live.
Overall, this has been a complete waste of money. In my experience, the sales pitch and the product are two completely different things. Save yourself thousands of pounds and hire an independent web designer instead—you'll almost certainly end up with a better website, better communication, and far better value for your money.

I’ve had the same experience as other reviewers here — paid a significant upfront fee for a Boostly direct booking website, and it’s produced zero bookings since it went live. The booking button has been broken, there’s a recurring background music bug that keeps reappearing after “fixes,” and I was pushed into an additional unexpected cost that was never part of the original pitch.
Zero bookings, broken site, and unmet promises
Like others have noted, the sales process was heavy-handed, and the promised increase in direct bookings simply hasn’t materialized. Support is responsive but the underlying issues never get resolved — just patched temporarily. I would not recommend this to other STR hosts based on my experience.
In addition promises were made if the site doesn’t receive 65% direct bookings you receive your money back. Mark doesn’t respond to emails when asked about refund.

Boostly transformed how we manage Blooming Inn! Their direct booking platform broke our reliance on high commission fees. Our gorgeous new website is incredibly intuitive, and their fantastic marketing training helped us secure more direct guest bookings than ever. Partnering with Boostly was the absolute best decision for our business.

We’ve had nothing but success with our experiences with Boostly. The web designers were amazing and responsive; Mark Simpson has been helpful and our business has benefited greatly (and profitably) from working with him!

Mark, it’s been years. I paid Boostly approximately $3,000 for a website. Despite countless emails, direct messages, payment receipts, and refund requests, I have never received a website, a design, a draft, or any completed work. I no longer want the service—I want my money back. Please do the right thing and issue my refund immediately

So far, this has been the most disappointing business relationship I’ve had in almost a decade of running multiple Str properties.
They were heavy handed on the initial sales pitch and pushed me to sign a contract on the spot. Their pitch was that if I took the time to read it and call them back, then I’d need to pay their inflated full price.
I’ve tried to engage with them on multiple occasions and the most recent response I got from them was that they would penalize ME if I didn’t get an onboarding form to them within 72 hours. They said it’s in the contract. Probably is but that’s not how I treat my partners. I guess the point is that’s how they DO.
I’ll update this one way or the other at the end of the year but early returns are deeply disturbing
