Good prepared food

Living in London, I had never heard of Booths but did an Amazon Fresh order last week which included a curry from them, which I thought was pretty good when I ate it. Nice to see only real ingredients in it rather than the usual chemicals. Would have given it 5 stars except that it was described as for two people - maybe if neither of them is very hungry! Will be using them again.

This is the 4th/5th year we have…

This is the 4th/5th year we have ordered our Christmas day food from Booths in Penwortham, absolutely everything was superb, the Turkey Crown was easily the best one we had cooked, it was beautifully succulent, I may take a little of the credit for that!!.. Thank you again Booths...... No out of date or gone off turkey here.... Buy Booths, get quality.

Overprice tasteless food- wont be back

Overprice tasteless food- wont be back. I spent 120.00 on party food for Christmas day - result was tasteless rubbery chicken - 7 small pieces for 7.00, pakoras without a hint of spice, same for bajis and samosas, veg tart where pastry welded to the tray after 10 mins in oven, dry focaccia bread, cheap nasty prawns, dry brie and cranberry parcels. cheap disgusting cheesecake etc etc etc - save your money and try Aldi, half price and far better quality

Did a Christmas food to order a month…

Did a Christmas food to order a month in advance. On collecting my order at 1.30pm on Christmas Eve, was devastated to see my whisky and orange gammon substituted for a plain piece of gammon and a jar of cheap marmalade! Too late to go looking elsewhere at that time Xmas eve. Wow, they didn't give me what I ordered and they then decided to charge me an extra £5 for the substituted item. Not happy at all. They did deduct the extra £5 from my £149 bill. Rang customer services after getting home. Someone took details and said they would contact me shortly. Still waiting.
Will never ever go to booths again.

Booths in Ripon it’s like going home

Booths in Ripon it’s like going home. All the staff are friendly and willing to help. In fact more than willing. In particular I commend Melly for excellent communication skills, a friendly face at all times and Steve the booze man again excellent communication and such a wealth of information about various beverages. This is not limited to more mature people as the young ones are brilliant and obviously follow good leadership. Well done to all those giving us a fantastic service in what has been a most difficult year

Absolutely atrocious customer service

Absolutely atrocious customer service. I went in to Booths Barrowford to look at some plants which were placed near to the entrance. Most of the produce were barely able to stand up and hanging off the edge of the display. I attempted to look at a plant in the centre of the display as I couldn't tell if it was potted or not due to the way the store had jam packed everything. As I was about to lean over to look, the top of my coat clipped the edge of one of the plants which was hanging off the side, the plant subsequently fell on the floor to which I apologised to the doorman who hadn't even seen it happen. If the display hadn't been so badly put up and packed this would not have occurred. The plant wasn't damaged apart from afew dropped leaves. I was then told I had to pay for the item, to which I advised if the display had been correctly put up instead of hanging off the edges where consumers walk with trolleys this would not have occurred. I'm appalled someone who didn't see what happened spoke to me in this manner. How are consumers meant to see items when they display produce so close together.
Afew weeks ago I went in and was informed I had to wear a face covering, despite being asthmatic and not being able to. I was told by a staff member I wasn't allowed in unless I wore one. I then attended the cafe approximately 5 weeks ago and initially put my tray at a table in the centre, one of the customers sitting near a window table went out and before I'd sat down i decided to move my tray and sit at the window seat. As soon as I'd sat, the girl on duty came over complaining she needed to clean the other table where my tray had been placed and then went on to say I should not have moved and how inconvenient it was that she had to sanitise another table. I explained, I'd only placed my tray there and hadn't been seated.
I cannot believe some of these staff are employed in a customer service role. I was really upset by the initial staff members remarks, never mind being reprimanded by a 15 year old. I spend a fortune in this store but won't be any longer. My understanding was that retail staff are supposed to encourage and keep customers not push them away.Honestly, I don't know how they keep customers.

friendly staff.

Barrowford store is only small, but I like how they are still sanitising trolleys, and have sanitiser at the entrance. Mostly customers wear masks and although there is not a huge amount of room to move about, customers are considerate and ‘pass with care and quickly. I like the quality of the produce on offer...so much so I’ve put in an order for Christmas...never done that before.

Booths in Ulverston

Visited booths for a hot butty and a coffee, outstanding. I have lung disease and so I need to be carful. I spoke to Nathan (who needs a pay rise btw) on the way in and he explained the ‘rules’ and helped with where I should go to get my food. Not many supermarkets doing this stuff, no one on the doors at Tesco, Aldi, even my local co-op! Well worth a visit, safe, welcoming and bloody good food!

Booths Lytham store

Booths Lytham store

Just popped into the store this afternoon. The young man on the door saw us parking and as we were in a disabled spot he immediately came over with a clean trolley to enable my husband to walk. Well done and thank you for your thoughtfulness. 👏👏

Ready meals disaster

Bought to ready meals for ages parent on her request. Lancashire beef hot pot. And chicken casserole.
1. Beef hotpot inedible due to over seasoning and flavouring nasty.
2. Chicken casserole better taste wise but littered with sharp bone fragments she has badly scratched her esophagus. In considerable pain .

Ready meals from any supermarket now off the menu permanently.

Booths Garstang, distancing safety concerns today

My first visit to Booths since March, I had heard their safety arrangements re covid 19 were good - not my experience on this visit. Customers were shopping in all directions and passing very closely, even staff just brushing past. Felt a lack of organisation, people not distancing to queue or pay, not using the markings, the assistant who handed back my change touched my hand rather than drop the coins into it. As you enter and leave its via the same doors and so there is close passing by. I wanted to sanitise my hands on enter/leaving but the only sanitiser was by the trolleys where other people were so I didnt. Another customer was by my shoulder as I left, people just milling around all near the entrance. In general I didnt feel safe, cut my visit short and was relieved to get out.

Thought I would pop into our local…

Thought I would pop into our local booths for a few bits, no social distancing in store by members of the public or staff. I suffer from anxiety’s, it’s not a crime but something I live with. Got to the checkout, unfortunately my toes were over the yellow line so I was informed to step back and given a lecture as to why, just what needed. Thing is, you can’t do right for doing wrong. I hadn’t realised that my foot was slightly over the line, why did she have to make a big deal of it. None of the shops are consistent with their rules and the staff are quick to bark at you if you put a foot wrong, pardon the pun, which I informed her of, she kept going on and on how this is her job, by this time a que is forming behind me and I became increasingly anxious the more she justified herself because now everybody was looking, seriously, I am still shaking. Staff need to realise that it all gets a bit much for some of us trying to go about as normal as we can, rules for this and that, stand here, don’t stand there. She did ask if I wanted to speak to her supervisor, at this point I just want to get out of there before I fold into a heap and I told her so. Thanks for that booths, won’t be back in a hurry for another lecture and showing up.

Rude staff and non social distancing by staff.

Booths Penwortham. Rude woman on the door enforcing 1 person per household. We are temporarily without a car and needed 2 to carry the shopping, and also helping sheilding vulnerable neighbour. Quizzed like criminals. Last week I also shopped there and a tall member of staff pushed up behind me and reached over me to stock the shelf. I complained by phone and was told he had learning difficulties. I pointed out that he could still transmit coronavirus, and they are responsible for his and my health and safety. TODAY THE SAME PERSON PASSED ME TWICE WITHIN 50CM!!!!

COVID-19 guidelines

I went to one of your supermarkets yesterday and needless to say I am rather disappointed of some of the COVID-19 rules implemented. I have been denied entrance in the shop at the same time with my partner which I do not want to begin to list reasons why sometimes, even during these strange times, we do actually need to go shopping with another member of the household. We were then told that if we both wish to go in, we both need one trolley each, to which you have a one out one in person system even though on your guideline clearly states 'one person per household where possible' therefore exceptions can be made and I am fully aware of not wanting to overcrowd the premises!
Rather embarrassed to stay and argue with the member of staff in charge of letting us in and cleaning the trolleys ( by the way, I am not implying he was rude!) I decided to hold back and wait for another person to exit so then I can have my own trolley and then also go in. However, when you are in the shop, some customers forget to really bare in mind social distancing rules and be considerate that others have to shop too - so there is not much point in forcing same household customers to go in separate, with their own trolley if when inside the shop social distancing rules are not strictly reinforced by the company.
The most frustrating thing was to see people basically bumping into friends/acquaintances probably for the first time since lockdown and then stop to chitchat, once again ignoring that we still need to respect social distancing rules. And from what I have noticed, no member of staff was trying to break such gatherings. Needless to say this actually affects those who are queuing outside the shop. If you ask me, that's where as a company you should really be strict with!
