Outstanding Service Archie

First time we have used the store, we were greeted by Archie on arrival, we told him what we were looking for and he was throughly knowledgeable and so helpful because of this we purchased the Pioneer XDJ-RX3 and speakers 7/3/26 Highly recommend.

What can I say BRAVO!!

What can I say , Joe and Archie , both fantastic customer service .
Over the phone, e mail and in shop purchase.
Answered all my questions, and able to give me a great trade in deal for my old gear!

Highly recommend this company , no pushy sales talk, nice relaxed atmosphere , shop is superb , free to try out all dj gear .

"Warning”: Predatory fees, dishonesty, and lack of respect for female DJs

I am a legitimate customer of Bop DJ Leeds. My review is based on a real sequence of events which the company’s Head of Customer Service, has already acknowledged in writing and via attempted phone calls to me.

Evidence of my customer experience:

• The Invoice: I was sent an official invoice for a unit that was £60 less than the fi

• The "B-Stock" Issue: On my first visit, I was told a unit was "B-Stock," but the invoice then listed it as "Pre-owned." The staff


"I am writing this to warn the DJ community—specifically female artists—about the predatory and discriminatory practices at Bop DJ Leeds. This has been a three-week pattern of dishonesty and gender-based gatekeeping.

The most serious issue is the deception regarding the equipment's condition and hidden fees. I originally went in to buy a brand-new controller, but the store refused to include any basics like leads or a cover. Because the price was tallying up so high, they mentioned 'B-stock' as a cheaper option. I was led to believe it was a display model, but the invoice stated 'Pre-owned,' which carries ZERO Pioneer protection and only shop warranty.

Furthermore, when I asked for a professional walkthrough of the XDJ-RX3 to understand the upgrade from my Pioneer 400s, the staff weren't prepared to actually talk me through the gear. Instead, they sneakily added a 'training course' fee to my invoice—a service I never agreed to and was never told would cost extra. They expected me to pay thousands of pounds in full without even being allowed to test or see the product first.

The store even called me to admit an 'error' on their paperwork, yet conveniently 'couldn't' call me to say the unit had been sold—despite knowing I was arriving at hi 3:00 PM today. They claimed it sold at 2:45 PM, just 15 minutes before I arrived, yet the exact same units are still listed on their website with the same photos from three weeks ago.

To top it off, they tried to devalue my trade-in gear. In a phone call yesterday, they dismissed my Pioneer Serato controller as 'too old' (despite retailing for £100 elsewhere), but offered an insulting £150 for my Pioneer 400 Limited Edition collector's items.

As a woman of color walking into that shop alone, I was treated with a complete lack of respect. I am certain that if I had been accompanied by a man, I would have been treated as a professional. Bop DJ Leeds lacks professional integrity and respects neither the craft nor the diversity of the DJ community.

While you claim your review found "no issues with processes," I would like to highlight the following points:

1. Timing and Transparency: I arrived specifically to view equipment that your team knew I was interested in, only to be told it had been sold 15 minutes prior to my arrival. Allowing a customer to travel under these circumstances is a clear failure in service.

2. Pricing Discrepancy: Your review claims no issues with pricing, yet the images and emails I provided clearly show I was quoted [Insert Original Price] while being charged [Insert Higher Price]. Your response completely ignores this documented evidence.

3. Dismissive Service: When I asked for a demonstration of the equipment available, I was met with a dismissive attitude. Instead of the technical support I requested, the staff member pushed a "learning packet" sales pitch. This was not a "gap in communication"; it was a lack of professional respect for my requirements as a buyer.

4. Lack of Accountability: I note that your email does not contain a sincere apology for these errors. Instead, you have offered a "sorry you felt that way" statement, while simultaneously claiming your processes were perfect. Stating that your findings "do not invalidate how it felt" is hollow when the physical evidence (emails and images) proves that the service failure was factual, not just a matter of "feeling."

If your review was truly thorough, it would have addressed the specific timestamps and pricing in the evidence I provided. I am not looking for an acknowledgement of my "feelings," but a formal apology for the misinformation and a resolution to the financial discrepancy.

Before I consider a direct conversation, I require a written proposal on how you intend to rectify the pricing error and the time wasted due to your store's misinformation.

We carried out a full internal review, including speaking with multiple members of our store and leadership team and reviewing all available information, including pricing and product details, and the communication around your purchase and visiting time, to ensure we properly understood what happened and where we could improve.

In reviewing the timeline, we’d like to offer some additional context from our investigation. During your first visit, a member of our store team spent time with you discussing the XDJ RX3, talking through its features and allowing you time to explore the unit for yourself. They followed this up with an email summarising the options you had discussed in store.

An optional DJ course appeared on an early quote because the team member believed it might be of interest after your discussion with them. This was removed once clarified and was never charged. Once your requirements were confirmed, the invoice issued reflected the agreed quote, and no additional or unexpected charges were applied.

That said, we recognise that the experience did not feel clear or supportive from your perspective, and we regret that this led to frustration and disappointment.

The unit you were interested in had regrettably sold shortly before your return visit. We appreciate how frustrating this was, particularly given the time and effort involved in visiting the store. Being a small business, pre owned listings can remain visible online for a short period after a sale due to manual stock updates. We recognise how this contributed to your frustration and are sorry for the way this appeared from your perspective.

Although our review did not identify evidence of any discriminatory behaviour, we want to be absolutely clear that your feedback and review of your experience are incredibly important to us. We recognise that our communication and handling of the situation did not meet the standard we strive for, particularly in how clearly expectations were set and managed. This feedback has already prompted reflection and action internally.

We are proud to support female DJs and artists of all backgrounds, and creating an inclusive, welcoming environment is extremely important to us. Any experience that leaves a customer feeling dismissed or undermined is taken seriously, and your comments have been used to reinforce expectations around communication, respect, and customer care.

Delivery to wrong address bop dj knew this but didn't contact me. After getting in touch with them I found out and asked for it to be sent again quickly as was needed for a job. Was told they would be in touch by email heard nothing don't no if I'm getting stuff or not
