I began studying with Juliana a little over a year ago, and I can honestly say I’m lucky to have found her.

When I first started, my goal was to take my Portuguese from almost zero to a conversational level, allowing me to work alongside Portuguese speakers with confidence. Academically, Juliana took the time to understand my level and create a structured progression plan using her teaching methods and materials.

Having used other language tutors in the past, what I really admired was the time Juliana spent understanding how I learn, rather than sticking to the same basic lesson structure for every student. On top of this, I have a constantly changing work schedule, and Juliana always worked hard to make sure we could fit lessons in. Without that flexibility, I wouldn't have had the contact time needed to reach the level I'm at today.

Alongside the language itself, Juliana introduced me to lots of cultural references and fascinating topics about Brazil, which made every lesson more engaging and helped me understand the language in its cultural context as well.

Ultimately, Juliana has taken my Portuguese from almost zero to a level that has allowed me to work alongside Brazilian film crews, conduct interviews, film scenes, and stay engaged with the language and the team throughout productions.

On top of all this, Juliana is one of the kindest people you'll meet. I couldn't recommend her enough. If you're thinking about giving Portuguese a go, don't hesitate to reach out to her.

Juliana is an excellent teacher. I have been learning Portuguese with her for a year and a half and she has played a major role in my progression. Whether it's tailoring specific classes based on questions I have, or going over her own prepared material, I always leave class having learned something new.

Her professionalism extends outside of teaching as well; always well prepared for class and very accommodating with any conflicts that come up in my own schedule.

I have been studying with Juliana for around 18 months now and my Portugese has gone from knowing a couple of words to being able to hold a conversation and feel comfortable expressing myself thanks to Juliana's way of teaching.

The lessons are superbly structured yet very relaxed at the same time with good development of grammar and vocabulary through conversation, building on early lessons.
The lessons are extremely enjoyable and I feel I develop each time. Juliana has developed excellent materials to study with to be able to develop even further in between lessons with easy to follow explanations and quizzes.
Juliana is extremely engaging, supportive and I highly reccomend if you really want to develop your Portugese!

I've been taking classes with Bora to stay in touch with Portuguese when I'm outside of Brazil. I like how it's very organized. Ju is a great teacher and I hope to continue taking classes.

Julianna is an absolute pleasure to work with. I've learned more than I ever thought I would in just a year and a half. I've exceeded my goal of having everyday conversations. I'm able to discuss concepts like philosophy, literature, art and more.
