Professional approach of Philippa was outstanding.
She kept us informed from day one.

Communication with agents. Speed of response to email. Agents provide the buyer with all the necessary information needed about prices and boats.

This company is awful.
And now trying to gaslight me.
Your response on trustpilot is full of lies
Even the skipper said communication from Borrow a boat was terrible.
We were not offered complimentary anything
We asked for 2 SUPs and 2 snorkeling sets
1 SUP was given on the 2nd day as he only had 1 and 2 would not have fit on the boat.
It wasn't inflated enough so couldn't be used. We had to wait for Ivan to return with the pump and inflate on a beach in 33 degree heat.
1 snorkeling set is not safe or recommended for use so we didn't use.
no one waited six hours for us whilst we went to the beach. We went to the beach because he refused to sail.
He told us to go to the beach.
And he repeatedly said he was hanging around the marina and didn’t live far if we needed anything.
Check in had been completed.
I was unaware of the deposit and cash payments as this info had been sent in attachment which I hadn't seen.
This was sorted though, with little help from yourselves
The complimentary drive to Krka! What???
This was never meant to be complimentary. He had every intention of charging us for that and we had already paid for his time in the skipper fee.
This is also where he drove well over the speed limit whilst using his mobile phone. This journey was the last straw for us. We had to leave after this as we no longer felt safe.
He was very rude and aggressive chucking his mobile phone across the car and tutting when I repeatedly had to ask him to slow down.
I have no idea what behaviour was deemed unsafe when sailing.
We went out for 30 mins in calm water. Ivan told us we were fine to sit out on deck. I asked if we needed life jackets, he said no.
Everyone was fine.
The next day we were told to sit inside, which we did
We played uno it was that calm
Please stop trying to make out the issues were mine.
Ivan did not charge for petrol because he knew he'd let us down.
You And the charter company/ Ivan are no longer responding to me and have blocked me on social media.
I really wanted to resolve this amicably and be compensated for our extra expenses of new accommodation and boat trips so we could actually sail.
We had contact with Mariachiara about chartering a boat. She was very hands on and provided us with an offer that suited our needs.
I’m an early investor in the company and it never ceases to amaze me how many times they go cap in hand trying to raise more money simply to keep operating as a business. My review in trustpilot is about the company and deserves to be here. I truly hope the latest capital raising is successful but wonder how many more times they can do this.
Nataila was super helpful when sorting out a boat.

For our first-ever stay in boating holiday, we chose to work with the team at Borrow a Boat following extensive research. Eray from the team provided outstanding support throughout the entire boat rental process. He worked closely with us every step of the way to ensure we found the perfect boat that matched our group’s needs and preferences. We’re truly grateful for his dedication, professionalism, and attentive service.

Eray did a perfect job.
We've been looking at chartering a gulet in Turkey for some months and dealt with multiple brokers. Without question, Eray at Borrow A Boat was far and away the most helpful and supportive as we progressed through the too many options available.
I highly recommend using Eray for you next Med charter.

Borrow A Boat is a professional company that I am extremely satisfied with all the services they provided during my boat hire this summer. Their representative Eray Ozkan supported and supervised us throughout the way, he is extremely helpful, knowledgeable and very responsive and created a huge difference for us on finding the ideal boat within our target price and on making the decision to use Borrow A Boat. Thank you very much Eray and borrow a boat family, looking forward to our holiday!!

Really terrible service from the team at borrow a boat, would definitely NOT recommend chartering with them, had lots of problems on our charter, boat was not safe or useable, had to spend the majority of the holiday talking to the base as borrow a boats team wouldn’t help and washed their hands of any issues and quote - “Borrow A Boat is not a party to the contract between you and the Charter Company.” + “We are not responsible for the performance of the Charter Company or for the condition of the Boat.” + “Any claims relating to the charter must be directed to the Charter Company.” Which means you are totally exposed if you get a bad one! We had to exit early - Stay well clear, history repeats its self as well as we are very keen to give second chances however, the first time we chartered in Croatia the boat wasn’t even available so had to change from a mono hull to a cat causing delay and real inconvenience. Please don’t work with these guys!
Just a follow up to respond to the below so everyone is aware of the honest position, it was a 2024 52’ monohull, in Sardinia, when we got there, it wasn’t the boat we chartered, similar make model, but not the actual boat.
I had arranged as part of the booking to take a larger higher powered rib, and was then told it couldn’t be done, lucky we managed to charter one for the week in the marina.
The boat wasn’t ready for early departure and none of the provisions where pre ordered were onboard or gas or linens. We organised the captain and crew through borrow a boat, both where changed personal at a late date after doing some pre trip organising, and came at extra expense than advertised, they didn’t know the boat, area or the base. A lot of equipment was missing from the boat such as day bed cushions, glasses and towels so we had to buy these.
The boat was faulty, just pretty dangerous, hadn’t been maintained well, we had 2 out of 3 water tanks that where working, where never informed on handover, so we only had >100l of water onboard, which wasn’t enough for showers. There was no spare gas canister and this ran out the 1st day, getting a compatible one was a real challenge! We had water egress into the battery area due to another tank failing which was pretty dangerous and on day 5 the engine failed so we left the boat early for safety reasons and the captain and stew where both pretty miffed as they felt that they couldn't do there job.
Its life, no problems from our side, just would be nice to have some traction around a refund to cover the hassle factor - However, borrow a boat just want to wash their hands of this, not our fault, not our boat, cant help you – We where never introduced to the base, I don’t have any details or contact names or numbers, (Until yesterday - The power of Trust Pilot hey!) borrow a boat suggested we negotiate for a refund ourselves in person, but we didn’t join the boat back to the marina as we left early (We did this as we had no knowlege of if or when the boat was going to be fixed, we where in Corsica could have been days - Base wouldnt advise a time and we would have missed out flights so chartered a rib back to Sardina). Out of pocket honest expenses directly linked to the boat failing +5K EURO, the base offered 2.5K EURO and asked to sign a disclaimer / waiver that we wouldn’t claim on insurance. Their insurance broker (The bases) advised us that we should have loss of holiday from the base (2.5K EURO and out of pocket through insurance) – We have done nothing to take legal action? Just advised we would like it settled in 14 days as its been two months of not much communication, nobody answering phone calls, or getting in touch with us to follow up, help make right or even apologise. However none of this really matters, its a principle point, hold myself in very good moral standings! Its that they are chartering without vetting possible unsafe boats, not checking the quality and then dont hold any power in a relationship with the bases or owners as well as not having any integrety or commitment to help you when it doesn’t go to plan, will just be taking a margin and leaving you to it, not a fab service business, as advised, great when it goes right, when it doesn’t your high and dry – navigate at your own risk as borrow a boat certainly wont help.

Booked a boat that was not available and told to reauthorise for a more expensive alternative charged for 2 boats no credit after 1 month finally they refunded with a 100 credit note - however this took me about 20 emails exchanged as the bank fees and conversion rate shorted me 164 CHF - all good now but be careful to be sure the actual boat you want is available before allowing them to charge
The team took extra mile to find a suitable boat for 8-10 people which was not available initially. From the beginning till end , the team were responsive and timely updated the status and moreover ensured the appropriateness of the request . Highly appreciated the timely service . Thank you !

@Nizar is the best agent ever ! He was able to find us the right Boat almost last minute when just few were still available. He was very supportive and reactive throughout the whole process. In less than a week we were able to seal the deal and get our reservation secured.

Nizar has been very helpful up to this point. I’ve yet to pick up the boat, so I will review fully in the next couple of weeks

Nizar was the best person we could have asked for to help us find the right boat for our family trip in Italy. It was a complex search — we changed locations and, just when we were ready to book a boat, it had already been rented. Nizar was always available, regardless of holidays, weekends, or time of day. A human, direct, and concise contact. It was a long search, but thanks to him, we found the perfect boat for our vacation
