Hired demolition hammer to break up…
Hired demolition hammer to break up concrete drive. First day, breaker started slowing down and then stopping. Called a Brandon and suggested I take it back, when I asked if someone could come out with new breaker I was refused as they were too busy. After a while breaker working again so continued for rest of day. Second day, same again. This time called and returned, was given much smaller breaker without offer of cheaper rate. When explained problem technician in yard said, “yeah, it’s been doing that, changed switch but guess that’s not it”. Staff in yard good, disappointed in management who couldn’t offer same swap or send someone out, nor offer of reduced rate for smaller machine.

Service was fine and staff were helpful and efficient.
Only four stars however as the equipment (a compactor plate) failed after 10 mins of use. It was swapped out without any problem but I pretty much lost the 1st day of the hire.

No refund issued even when retired item 5 days before end of hire and been told refund will be done.
No vat invoice and no chance to getting one

Poor customer service.
I attempted to hire 2 size zero Acrows for a job with tight tolerances. The acrows I has given would only contract as far as 107cm, not the 104 cm stated. I could see other acrows on the rack that were retracted shorter, but staff were abrupt and unhelpful, refused to let me select these ones and would only cancel my order and refund me. Very frustrated, a wasted morning ordering the stuff and driving in, I'll head to Jewsons for the mini digger and power barrow I need next month, and indeed any future requirements. Staff there were helpful and polite, and their acrowprops works as per spec.

The guy at the counter was the most helpful - he explained how to use the equipment and helped to move the equipment to the car. Would rent from this company again!
