Brave is an average browser, for me as a consumer, the ad blocking and other schticks is nice, but besides that it's just every other browser, their search engine is utter garbage, it's worse than... See more

Rewards payouts seem to happen at randomized times after cycle.
I haven't had any issues with Brave! There were some hiccups that I worked around (features that are turned off for safety/privacy but I turned back on). In Brave://flags you have to adjust Web Bluetooth API if you want to use your browser to connect and program devices within the site - handy for my applications. Or the other flag you must change to allow sites to scan your USB devices to connect to - again, a good security feature but I needed to use this.
Now I am experiencing randomness with the payouts of Brave Rewards (their ad service that pays 50% or something to the viewer of said ads) after seeing this ongoing for 6+ months. The period ends every month, and then it says on your Rewards plugin that your funds will be in your account by the 7th (tomorrow). The funds still haven't hit my account and this goes back to what I was talking about. Some months I receive the payout the day after the period ends, others it has been past the 7th I've had to wait - then one other time recently they accidentally paid us double for the period. I contacted them and the guy informed me this only happened with a small cohort of users and to keep the funds. All well and all, but as I expressed to him, I'd rather pay it back if needed so we all can keep using this service as it improves. I've never once had the browser crash, it gets updates frequently, and I really LOVE the ethos behind the brand!
I wanted to give Brave a try.
I wanted to give Brave a try.
It just doesn't work. I searched the website for a solution. Many users are experiencing the same problem, and there's no immediate solution. We'll continue our search for an alternative.

been using this browser ever since…
been using this browser ever since youtube started lagging on firefox i loved it the ad blocker and privacy features are great but i didnt like the crypto stuff though the ai feature is usefull and makes my day easy
changed my devices settings without permission
alright browser, but they changed my default browser settings and pinned brave to my taskbar without me asking it to, which is a pain and shows they arent an honest company
They caused me to lose all my bookmarks
Someone overly educated apparently thought it was a good idea to make automatic synchronization not the default setting. While I don’t quite understand what problem this is supposed to solve, it did manage to permanently erase all my bookmarks after a successful reinstall.
Something I had to do because ChatGPT wouldn’t accept any uploads when using Brave. With this little review, I’m now putting an end to our short-lived and once joyful relationship.
False advertising used when they say…
False advertising used when they say "We allow Youtube to work closed!".
Like, no. Very technically perhaps.
Youtube still (intentionally) bugs out and pauses music and doesn't skip to the next song, meaning you can't even go for a 20 minute walk outside without having to rip out the phone to fix a problem.
The big red "Shield" lion logo is intrusive and makes you look at it constantly, thinking it's a notification. Impossible to disable.
NOT GOOD
The fact that they don't have any real customer service that you can contact is so bad
Brave was good but now it is horrible
Brave was good but now it is horrible! Something has gone very wrong in this company!

they change back to what ever they were.
they force an AI onto you .
even when disabled it comes in randomly pushing coorporate opinions onto users.
it seem like an effort to try and remove freedom of will from users in a brain washing attempt .
everyone knows an AI is NOT itteligent. it a program.
it s set up to render people more stupid everyday. it contradict itself al tthe time.

this browser is pretty private blocks all ads and quite fast
Best browser ever
Life without ads is great and stress-free! Thank you brave creators
You just HAD to implement ads
You just HAD to implement ads, didnt you? Have been using you for more than 7 or 8 years, and now its over.
Best browser I have ever used
Best browser I have ever used. Been using it for a long time. Also blocks most adverts. This will change the way you use the internet. Can't praise them enough.
Get away
Get away from it. The say to be privacy focused, but wanna get add-ons like the crypto wallet marketed....
And on Ubuntu it is so bad programmed, when you have it open for longer than half an hour, they crash and slow down Gnome totally, wtf?
Removed it
Removed it. Has random crashes and hanging. And I cannot fully control all privacy items easily, it too much hidden for a privacy browser.
Privacy is also NOT a default and also crapware is default (I consider brave rewards to be crapware, nobody wants it).
Brave search is also broken by default (just like google and others). It will always try to find the anwers that fit the advertisers best but never something that simply matches with the given search terms. (when you cannot find it simply say no instead of offering crap results).
Brave review
I've been using the browser for quite a while now, and I haven't come to much issues as of using it, of course there are some websites with non blocked ad's but they fix that up pretty fast!
I feel the browser was doing fine, but…
I feel the browser was doing fine, but learned to hate it because if you need to translate from a language to English, forget it..It is horrible.Seldom works and you have to keep redoing the translation settings at the top of the page and even then it does not work very well, just now and then.If it wasn't for that I would keep it,but going to look for another browser that actually works for translating.Even with using Google translate's extension,it made no big difference. It only works when it wants to.It does not recognize the foreign language you have it set for.You just keep getting "This page can not be translated".It sucks in my opinion.......
Update.......I read more about how to setup google translate on Brave.First, you must turn off brave translate in settings..go to settings, language and turn Brave translate off..Then download the google translate.I found it works much better and even translate's by itself sometimes without doing anything yourself.I just did all of that the last half hour and it is working ok....Will see if it keeps working well. So,turn off Brave translate first, then download google translate.Hope this helps.
Update 2....Works better but still lagging for translation.Have to click several times at times to get it to translate and sometimes it still doesn't.Suggest using another browser if you need to translate on a regular basis like I do.I;ll just use Edge when I know I'm going to have to translate a lot.Curious why Brave doesn't fix this issue if they want people to use their browser. That's all folks. The end.
GARBAGE browser
Utterly useless POS browser.
The add blocking doesn't work as advertised, uBlock is still vastly superior to this dysfunctional garbage.
Many login sites are totally broken and don't work, not even on brave relaxed settings you have to completely turn off the protection.
Might as well use Edge... this is how bad this POS GARBAGE browser is.
