My “quaranteam” was thrilled with Brett Robinson

My “quaranteam” was thrilled when Gulf Shores reopened the beaches. Staying with Brett Robinson was a breeze! The website booking was easy to navigate and see the upgraded cleaning standards really put me at ease as a mom. The staff was not only serving the Southern hospitality my soul was craving - but with safety measures in place for social distancing. Sanitizer and guidelines posted everywhere and families were cordial about one group at a time in the elevator - lots of extra precautions to keep us safe as we tried to regain our sanity in the sun! The property was amazing and I can’t wait to visit again. I highly recommend Brett Robinson for taking care of your family when you feel safe enough to venture out!

Orange Beach Phoenix East…

We stayed at Orange Beach Phoenix East #706 & had a wonderful place to stay. Pictures & description of resort & condo were right on. Protocols for covid 19 were strictly followed. Chairs at beach had at least 6’ distance. People were respectful & kept their groups spaced out.

We stayed at Phoenix Gulf Shores and…

We stayed at Phoenix Gulf Shores and had a great experience. The "verified clean" protocols they touted are definitely in place and they did a great job managing people and traffic flow. There were hand cleaning stations everywhere you looked in public spaces(even elevators). The unit we stayed in was very nice, uniquely decorated and VERY spacious. We will definitely be coming back!

Virginia and the Phoenix Hotel and Suites is very RUDE

I have been staying at Phoenix condos for over 20 years. This past weekend we booked at the Phoenix Hotel and Suites. Virginia was the clerk that checked us in and I don’t think there is a more UNFRIENDLY person on earth. She acted as if our breathing bothered her. We did arrive early and were hoping for an early check in but boy did that NOT happen. We completed all the paperwork and my questions were answered with her short snide responses. She told me I would get a text when my room was ready, which I have yet to receive. I asked her what time the room would be ready and replied with the utmost snarl “4!” I saw a box of masks on the counter and asked Virginia if the masks were for the guest. She said “two per room” so I tried to get only two out of the box. Well, when I pulled them, several fell into the floor. She said nothing....so I reached down to pick them up, there was about 10. When I stood up, her hand was outreached toward me and she said once again very rudely “here, I have to throw them away now.” I then asked her where the facilities were that we were told that we could use until the room is ready and she just nonchalantly pointed to the restroom which was outside. Feeling very unwelcome, we walked back to our car. My son and 3 other family members that were with me needed to use the restroom so I told them were to find it and myself and the other adult with me soon walked in behind them. As soon as Virginia saw us, she proceeds to question us about the boys suggesting that we had too many people with us. I assured her that as a registered nurse with a bachelors of science, that I could read, write and count and that not everyone who was “walking” with us was sleeping with us. After the front line encounters I have had recently with COVID-19, I was looking so forward to this little weekend get away and the arrival was extremely disappointing.

I bragged to my friend that was with me about the Phoenix facilities as she had never been. Needless to say the first impression was awful. My friend’s mother was hospitalized in critical condition the night before we were to check out so we were up all night on the phone with family and the medical staff at the hospital where we live. On check out morning, we woke up at 9:55 am, 5 minutes before we were to check out. We went to the desk told Virginia what happened and she said you can have until 10:30. She didn’t care at all!!!! We packed as fast as we could but of course we weren’t done by 10:30.

We paid almost $600 for 42 hours in this room so yes I expect to be treated with the utmost respect and just some common curtesy. (Check in at 4 and out by 10) I’m still floored by the way we were treated.

We have stayed at Phoenix West yearly…

We have stayed at Phoenix West yearly for the last 12 years and have rarely had a bad experience but this year was not good. The condo (602) was not as well stocked In the kitchen as previous condos. The dryer never worked correctly despite reporting it and someone coming up to “fix it”. The beds were very uncomfortable. We did enjoy the lower level and not requiring so much elevator time. I can truly say this is the worst of the units we have stayed in at Phoenix West. Hoping for a better experience next year.

We stayed at Island Wind East

We stayed at Island Wind East. The location is great (opposite side of the hustle and bustle). However , i was not satisfied with the furniture. The sofa cushions and pillows smelled old and musty. It appeared that they had never been washed. I can say the same for the bedding. The pillows on the beds had an ‘old’ smell. I was very thankful that I had packed my own pillow from home. Also, when i booked the condo, it showed $92/night but once I booked it, my total bill was $700 I didn’t appreciate the false advertisement

Nice Condos, Low Budget Features

I’ll start with the positives: location is great, amenities are good, huge balcony in unit, open layout is great. This was our second stay at one of the Phoenix West condos (we stayed at II last year) and were very pleased - plus the kids love the water slide and lazy river at both of the PWs.

Unfortunately- our unit was very disappointing. The most disappointing aspect was the mattresses in the unit. They were awful. Absolutely no way of getting a good nights sleep on any of the four beds. You could literally feel the springs in the master bed and underneath was a rollaway metal frame. The bed setup was very low budget. My family left longing for our own beds and a good nights sleep- not rejuvenate the way you would hope after a few days of vacation. Decent bed accommodations is something Marriotts and Westin’s do much better. Additionally, the dishwasher was a terrible, low budget, example of a dishwasher that did a poor job washing dishes.

I have family members who own condos on the beach and I know how frustrating it can be dealing with renters who tear up things and do not respect the property they are staying at. I get that. But it’s no excuse to not use better beds and mattresses in one of the nicest condos in Orange Beach. We won’t be back to PW I (Unit 1201).

The worst hotel experience ever

The worst hotel experience ever! I’ve stayed at many hotels over my life and this is the first I have paid for one as I have come of age now to do so. I was staying one night to see my sister who lives over 12 hours away from me so we were meeting in the middle for a night! Check in was supposed to be at 4 meaning our room should have been ready!! We checked in at 4:30 and the room was not ready. We were told maybe 20-25 minutes and it would be ready and that they would call us when it was. An hour goes by and still no call. At this point we are walking around trying to find something to do because it is cold and windy out. We call and still no room. Another hour goes by and still no room. Another 45 minutes and we call and they tell us the room is green and ready! I go to get the room number key, and they tell me that they looked at the wrong one and that the room still was not ready. They said that someone was in there and it should be ready in maybe 10 minutes. So we stand outside the door waiting.. another half hour goes by and finally we can enter the room (took that long to clean). We enter and find a dead bug in the window and a hair on the bed... you’re telling me you had someone in there cleaning that long to miss that? I expected spotless since it took over 30 minutes to clean. We got in the room at 7:30!! Checkout is at 10!! Most food is closed at 8! We had no time to enjoy anything!! After many complaints, we finally got 2 extra hours for checkout and two free beach chairs (that we had no time to utilize). They also took some of the fee off... they should have given us a free extra stay or that stay completely free! This was unacceptable and I will never stay there ever again! If I could give them zero stars I would!

Our cleaning process typically takes two hours, so we suspect you were waiting for our phase two, "inspection" of the unit where all high touch surfaces are wiped down with disinfectant for a second time and takes roughly 30 minutes. Stayed at IWW

Stayed at IWW, was the worst condo .The beds were awful,microwave didn't work,one roll of toilet paper in bathroom for 6 people.The landline phone kept ringing.Very outdated condo, very over priced.

Needs attention!

We stayed in PW 1008 during February and March this year. We’ve stayed in the building before and again this time it was overall a good experience, even though it ended abruptly.

However, this particular unit needs attention.
The Beds, furniture, carpets, window blinds and appliances all show extreme wear. Well beyond any reasonable life span for rentals in this price range. I’d suggest checking it out before committing to a rental.

A perfect way to get your mind in a better place!

Although we were there during a time where the beaches were closed we had a wonderful time. During a sad time in the country, for some reason the sound of the Gulf get your mind in a better place. The unit was spotless and up to date. We found a way to get in the water by renting a pontoon boat. I will definitely be back staying in this unit!

What happened...

Like many other guests, we were caught off guard by the SHORT notice to vacate our condo, almost two weeks short of our end date. (We do appreciate the prompt refund we received from BR for unused dates). Up to that time, we were enjoying our winter at the beach. We were being well taken care of by staff. Irene, Ricardo, Monica, Thank You! We have rented from BR for about 18 years, first as weekly guests, advancing to snowbirds. Our condos have generally been very comfy and inviting. For the last two years I don’t feel we got what we paid for. We rented our unit with the promise that it would be completely updated (and it needed it) including new furniture in the living/dining area. Again, this was two years ago. After promises of delivery and “making things right” all that was delivered were living room tables and dining chairs. Would like to say the bedrooms are great but we don’t spend a lot of time there. Many of our friends pay the same as we do per month but their units are warm, inviting and completely updated. Our unit is not. We understand things happen beyond our control but it would have been nice if we were given the correct information and not just empty promises. We love OB and want to return to the area when all this uncertainty ends. Overall, most of our experiences with BR have been favorable and we hope our concerns about the unit are taken seriously.

We have been vacationing in OB for 25…

We have been vacationing in OB for 25 years and always renting thru B/R. It is truly our favorite! We request room 4034 Phoenix IV. Beautiful Room! This year amidst the chaos I was very disappointed the way things were handled! We planned to spend 2 weeks arriving March !5-28. At 3:30 the 19th we were told we had to leave by noon the next day! My son and his small family arrived the17th and planned to stay the week At 7:00 that evening they packed up and left for home, driving thru the night! Very UNSAFE situation beings we live in IL @13 hours away!! Could of you just gave us a couple days notice?! Were told water was to be shut off!! So very dissatisfied on how this was handled!! I received an email stating my credit back to me.. We'll see how that goes?! I am a very disappointed Orange Beach Lover!! Gail Sinn

We stayed in Phoenix VI and the place…

We stayed in Phoenix VI and the place itself was great, wonderful customer service. The condo we stayed in was more expensive because the owner felt their place was more updated. It did have a white kitchen and nice counters but the bedroom furniture was dated and the mattress was hard. The light fixtures were dated. I would not have paid more for this room as I did not feel it was as “up to date” as the owners feel. The ironing board was crooked, the kitchen had a couple measuring cups but not a whole set, just have to eyeball it. I would for sure stay at this facility but not this room.

Bed Bug Infestation With No Concern From Brett/Robinson

My family and I just returned home from a stay at a Brett-Robinson property. My wife and 7 year old daughter got a horrible case of bed bug bites from the Phoenix III. I understand things happen out of their control. However, their policy around this is unacceptable. they offered to give me one night of our stay back as a "gesture" because they can't take out an insurance policy to protect from something that is "no one's fault." needles to say, we turned that offer down. sorry. when you have a guest staying in your property go to urgent care and get two shots, prescriptions, pack up and leave in the middle of the night, and spend three hours upon returning home to completely detox every item brought on their "vacation", you might just have to come out of pocket a little more.  We also found a protective corn pad stuck in their sheets when I went to wash them myself. Some of the blood stains on the sheets look older than what could be mine or my daughter's. their policy doesn't take care of the health and safety of their renters. do not use this company. We have been back home for 5 days with continuous calls to them with no response. Do yourself a favor and use a different rental company in the area.

So my in-laws have rented at the…

So my in-laws have rented at the Phoenix for 30 years. They are in their 80’s and were scheduled to leave after their normal 3 month stay on April 1, 2020. The Brett Robinson Group informed them this evening that all renters were to vacate by noon tomorrow. NO warning at all. They were so shook up. Our son called and was told by a very nice lady that the team was in a meeting realizing not all renters drove to Alabama and had to arrange their way home via flight or ???? So they graciously (sarcasm) are letting people stay till Sunday. And, not all renters were the crazy spring breakers partying on the beach. Pray they get home safely and shame on Brett Robinson or whomever made these decisions. I realize we are in uncharted territory but come on !!!!

HEARTLESS FRONT DESK STAFF

The vacation up to the last day was fabulous. We met our daughter for Spring break. We drove from Texas and got in Sunday She drove from Oxford on Wed to spend the remaining week with us. Obviously, our drive was much longer than hers. SO, on check out day we left at 530am to get back to Texas. She got up several hours later and got ready to go. She called us frantic because she could not find her car keys. Ultimately, I looked in the back seat of our car and her keys were there.We were already 6 hours from her. I told her to go downstairs and explain what had happened while I called to figure out what to do at the Jeep dealership. I told her to ask for an extension until we could figure out to get in her car. C explained what was happening and asked for an extension on the check out or some help until we could get someone there to help her get in her car. The front desk person told her no check out was that 10 o'clock it was 930 at that time and she needed to leave. As nice as this place is sitting right on the beach the staff at Phoenix West is horrible or that particular front desk person. I truly hope their child never get stranded or in a position where they need a little extra kindness and help from someone. After this experience we will not stay here again and we have stayed here several times. I am truly disappointed with the way the front desk clerk treated my daughter under the circumstances she needed some help and they refuse to help her.

We have stayed several years at Phoenix…

We have stayed several years at Phoenix III. We enjoy the warm indoor pool and hot tubs. The pool area is in need of some repair around the hot tubs and walls starting to peel. Our unit had new paint and carpet a couple years ago. This was appreciated. High top table and chairs are difficult for older people. Furniture needs to be firmer in construction. Kitchen is adequately stocked but electric stove needs help. Burners are so uneven it is difficult for pans to make contact with the heating surface. Washer and dryer worked fine. GREATEST DISSAPOINTMENT came this year. When we went to reserve for the month of February we were told someone else had reserved this unit for both January and February of the following year. We were never given notice or an opportunity to reserve for the 2 months. We love this location and the 2 bedrooms. We are left with a higher location and only a 1 bedroom. This was not handled well.!!
