I have applied to Bridger Jones as an editor. The test was so easy and I signed the contract and was informed that I was listed in the editor's database, then I was asked to pay and join the directory of expert English editors and proofreaders. When I asked about payment where I am supposed to work and get paid, the company declared that I should pay to become visible, the matter that I refused as I used to meet scammers who ask to pay then swallow the money in the visa card.
After more than a month, I received an email to declare my interest in a project, when I tried to log in to my account, I was astonished that no data for me is recorded in the database. When I contacted the team to declare the issue, I was astonished again that this order is for editors listed in the directory, and if no one accepted the task they can contact me privately. Accordingly, I decided to give up on them. The second day I received an email asking me to get a free trial on the editors' directory, the matter that me more suspicious of this company and I decided to ask them to forget about me and stop contacting me. Please be careful and avoid working with them as editors as they are real scammers.

I searched the promising editors in the literature list and sent them emails. I found an appropriate person within 12 hours. Now I'm working with them on all my Persian poetry papers.

・In final page of application, unexplained error occurred multiple times and payment could not be made.

I used BJ for five years and I always recommended it to friends. Unfortunately, the quality and reliability of the service have dropped significantly in the last year. One paper had basic typos, while for another one I was asked to send it to a professional editor for its poor English (after BJ's work), etc etc. I reached out to them trying to find a solution but even after multiple emails they never got time to fix their poor work. Regarding the last problem, I am still waiting for their answer for almost two months! They kept saying "We are currently very busy". I and other colleagues at the Italian Studies department of NYU do not consider BJ a reliable service anymore and found better solutions.

PS - After this review, which I should feel free to write, I received an insulting email from one of the editors. I also see that they claim my last request was 12 days ago. Yes, the problem is that the first one was 2 months ago! Everything just confirms the disappointment.
