Zero customer service

I have contacted the Britannia head office three times via their contact form online regarding my complaint about our stay in Buxton on the 21st of January. I have had no response at all and there is no phone number. It is such poor customer service I am astounded. Avoid at all costs

Dear sir/madam

Dear sir/madam

We are writing to you in regards to our wedding reception which was held at Basingstoke Country Hotel,Scures hill, Nately Scures Nr Hook, RG27 9JS
Contract number 1159320 at Nasbey room on the 30th of December 2025.
We are very unhappy with a lot of different issues, when we arrived at the Hotel from the registry office, there wasn't a sign saying Paul and Dana's wedding as we we're promised.
At the entrance to our reception we we're asked how many glasses we needed for Champaign and soft drinks, so us and our guests had to wait a long time for the drink's to be served,
(All the amount of glasses and guests is in the contract.)
We had a mutual agreement with Polly Falzon that we can bring in our cheese, salami and fruits and the chef will prepare the platters for us, which hasn't been done. Salami was left unopened and uncut on the side table, fruits was put whole in the one bowl and cheese was cut onto big pieces and left messy on the small plate.
Me and my wife started cutting the cheese, fruits and salami with a butter knife to make it look presentable. At that time the chef walked passed and offered to cut everything for us, also he mentioned that he hadn't been told to prepare the platters. We we're very upset when the lady from the bar brought out the platters there was missing cheese, salami and most of the fruits ( apples, oranges, pineapple ).
The lady from the bar during our wedding meal was rushing us a couple of times to finish meals quicker trying to take our plates away. When we cut our wedding cake the lady from the bar came over and asked my wife if she could cut a slice of cake to try it, which my wife agreed. The lady cut three slices of cake instead of one after she explained that one slice was for her and the other was for Polly Falzon

and the other one was for the chef.in our opinion it isn't acceptable to ask for a slice of cake and we had just cut the cake. We had an open tab at the bar and Polly Falzon told us the bar would be opened until midnight but at 9.45pm the same lady came over to us and in a rude way asked us to pay the bar bill because her shift finishes at 10pm and the company wouldn't pay her any extra .
The next morning we and our guests came down for breakfast we're we had been ,,greated" by Polly Falzon a very unhappy face, also we all had to wait for breakfast around ten minutes there wasn't any egg's, sausages, hash browns.
Also we would like to make a complain about the rooms which we paid for in one room there was only one small shampoo bottle and the taps in the sink, bath, shower we're all rusty and wouldn't open properly.
The only one thing what was very good was the main meal and we want to say thank you to the chef.
Regarding all incidences, poor organization and stress that has been caused by all of this we are looking for compansation.

Kind regards
Paul and Dana Cash.

We sent this email's more than a month ago to the company director and customer service team but still no response. Please avoid these hotel's and their services as you won't get what you paid for.

The staff were so friendly and helpful

The hotel needed some TLC, but it was clean and the food was good and not dried out. The best thing was the staff, who were helpful and friendly. Always in good moods, even though they worked hard all over the Christmas period. We were there from the 23rd December to the 27th December.

Britannia hotel Manchester .. beware

Manchester City Centre
Booked a room for 3 adults, started off as 2 Seperate rooms that was changed to an Executive 3 person
Room.
Booking in went well, decent looking place, reception and also great location.

However when we got to the “executive “ room it was tired , old scabby cheap wardrobes and the beds were all single with 2x 2 legs, casters all buckled, sheets that barely fitted. Wobbly and with old bases and mattresses.
The lobby outside stunk and it carried into the room.
Really not what you’d expect for close to £400

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Britannia hotel in Birmingham. 1 star is too many! Run down, dirty, felt unsafe. Cold, noisy room. Lift broken. Not a single nice thing about this place. Will be sure to never stay in a Britannia hotel again!

Unable to mark 0

Unable to mark 0 otherwise this would have been our mark for this hotel.
We stopped one night at the Grand Hotel in Scarborough as part a two day trip to Whitby through 'Just Go' short breaks and my wife and l have never been subject to such disgusting conditions from a large hotel group.
We arrived at hotel on Sunday around 14.00 hrs. and had to leave our bags in the ball room as the rooms weren't ready.
We went to look around the town and returned at around 16.30 and went to our room. To our astonishment water was leaking through the bathroom ceiling, not in a single drip but several areas of the ceiling and it was starting to collect in puddles on the floor. Amazingly the maid had put the towels in a pile to abosrb some of the pools of water
My wife and l are both in our mid seventies and suffer from rheumatic joints and always have a hot bath before bed
We went straight down to reception and reported the problem and they told us the problem would be sorted immediately and we could have another room as the hotel was fully booked. Absolutely unbelievable !!!!
We returned to reception after dinner to be told the problem was fixed dry towels were in the room and we could relax on the terrace and enjoy the sunshine. At about 21.00 we returned to our room having given enough time for the floor to dry, to find water still leaking through the ceiling and the pools on the floor were now even bigger. I rushed down stairs and the female night manager knew nothing about the problem. Again she was incredibly apologetic but sail there were no rooms available.
We spent the night in the room with a soaking foor having problems using the bathroom because our feet got wet after every visit.
The following morning l went to see the manager so express my disgust but he showed little or no interest in my complaint. A passing member of staff commented the he knew that bathroom floorr was leaking the day before and had reported the fault. DISGUSTING !!!
The photos l sent to the Grand just after the event showed all the wèt towels strewn across the floor along with an extensive covering letter but all have received is an automatic response from their customer sevices department suggesting l dont contact the company again as it would hold up their response. l have received no letter of apology for our nightmare of an evening. Don't ever stop at the Grand in Scarborough.

Poor customer service

Was given a dusty room with no ventilation, could not even breathe properly. Went to the hotel desk to be told we would have to pay extra to move rooms. We asked to speak to a manager but they persisted we would have to pay more. We were left with no choice but to pay it. Very poor customer service.

Nice but expensive

We stayed about five nights at this hotel during our visit in Edinburgh, Britannia Hotel Edinburgh. It was located in a nice environment about 2,2 kilometers from citycenter (Scottish monument) but only 1/2 kilometer from Dean Village.

It was okej but expensive for what it offered. The beds was unfortunately very hard so we could not sleep so very well the first night. The staff gave us extra quilts and it helped quite okay. The room was clean and the sheets was new and fresh. Breakfast was ok, Lot of varietes like black pudding, sausages, bread, poetiske and more. Most of the staff was very nice and speak very good english.

We had no problems with our booking, everything was clear when we arrived.

Insensitive manager

I booked a room at the Savoy in Blackpool for 21st July 2025. I cancelled this in May 2025. The balance of £388 was due the 30th June 2025. Lee took £388 from my bank account on the 23rd July without my permission or notifying me, he left me in the red with no money coming in until the 5th August when my OAP and pension credit was due. Lee says my contract ends on the 25th July which he is wrong. He refuses to give me the phone number or address of head office. Kathleen Ingram 01706 846607

Coventry City Centre Hotel Just Go Holiday

Stayed at Coventry City Centre hotel as part of a coach tour booked through Just Go Holidays.
I would not recommend staying here.
The only positive thing about it is that at least the bedrooms were clean although the chairs in our room had dust on them.
The main area of the hotel has never been cleaned and the windows have mould growing on them.
There is dust on all of the lights and the water fountain centre piece in the dining room is supposed to be white but has rings of dirt on it.
The meals what you would get in a greasy spoon cafe and they do not cater for people with allergies and special dietary requirements, The fact that they have signs all around the dining area advising clients to let them know of any allergies, it is too much trouble for them to cater for this.
One of the joints of meat was so dry it was white all the way through and the staff member was finding it difficult to slice.
We had an allocated dining area for our tour but this was full so we sat in another area and were asked to move despite other members of the tour being allowed to sit in the allocated area.

I stayed at Brittania hotel Manchester Airport. The staff were all so lovely and helpful. I was there for 4 days and it felt so comfortable. Nothing was to much trouble for them. Carol on the breakfasts worked so hard and the lovely Spanish cleaning lady was lovely too. Very pleasant stay.

Brittania hotel Edinburgh. Male member of staff at breakfast was incredibly rude to everyone, had a terrible attitude problem. People waiting for plates and food as they couldn't keep up with the coach trips they'd booked in.

Avoid Brittania Hotels.Rude, dishonest staff.

Grand Bustin Hotel Folkestone. HORRENDOUS.
Arrived last night and my moving van got stuck. Lynn the duty manager was a real horror. Refused to check me in to my prepaid room until I paid, that night, for the damage. She also refused to refund me until I paid for the damage. Which could not be fully determined until the van was moved. I called her bluff and told her to send me an invoice. She did not. Lynn told me "youll get a fine". She showed no concern or interest in me as a paying guest. She had no concern for a female, alone. Late at night I had to walk the streets trying to find another hotel. She lied about everything.
Brittania hotels are ranked the worst in the UK. They do not care about their guests. Had I known this hotel was a Brittania, I would not have booked. Unprofessional, sloppy clothing..no uniforms.
I'm not paying to repair anything. They have insurance right along with rude, ignorant staff.
AVOID! AVOID!

I stayed 2 nights at the Brittania…

I stayed 2 nights at the Brittania Hotel Bolton, my first and last visit to this establishment.
Due to my occupation, I have been lucky enough to travel around the world for 43 years, so I am no stranger to hotel accommodation. However, the Brittania Hotel Bolton is the first I've encountered that freely admits it only services guest rooms every four days.
The hot water tap needs to be run for what seems to be several minutes to get warm, and the shower I let run for a timed 6 minutes was still running stone cold. The room had no curtains but had a wooden screen arrangement instead which made an almighty noise when used, I'm sure other guests could hear.
In conclusion I do not recommend staying here, as I'm sure better hotels are available in Bolton.

Sprawston mannor

Sprawston mannor
It is one of the most abusive unreliable irresponsible jobs I have ever had & experienced
The manager is abusive
The manager consistently changed my shift pattern without asking baring in mind I had another job.

My other managers at my other job noticed my shift pattern being changed & thought it was abit odd.

They would destroy the spa rooms & expect you to clean mop & hoover bairing in mind it has been left for you to pick up & clean.

The manager attacking other staff members in the group chats

The manager not allowing staff to use the gym or other facilities

Reducing my hours after asking for more hours
Reducing my hours from 30 hours to 20 & under.

I made a complaint about the mangers disgusting abusive toxic behaviour.
I was sent three letters & one email telling me I was no longer needed.

Before letting me go, the manager was showing new spa therapist around two days before, for my job position.

Clients complaining about the manager in front of other clients

staff memebers stealing products from the salon ( gel polish ).

staff memebers ( spa therapist) watching TV on their phones while carrying out facials / treatments.

Childish inappropriate behaviour
Manager more worried about who she is sleeping with than her job.

Staff ( Spa therapist) unhygienic due to taking showers within the beauty room.
Unable to use facilities at home.

Inappropriate language & behaviour towards other staff memebers

Gross missconduct & emotional abuse.

Manager Inappropriate footwear
Broken footwear with stones getting stuck inside the shoe.
Hazardous outdated footwear inappropriate for work & spa facilities.
For the amount of money spa therapist are paid aswell as commission and tips
Could have atleast made their self presentable for clients and other staff memebers.
Instead of going on holiday also being paid to go on holiday.
Weekly paid religiously with tips over £500 - £600 aweek.
Dishonest behaviour
But yet docs someone else wages & hours.
Not so caring or compassionate.

Taking paid sick pay while claiming she is unwell or ' needing a break'
Or even panic attacks is needing a day to recover with sick pay.
Playing the system

Not a place to progress
Not a place to gain the right health experience
Not the place for learning or Educating other therapists

No up selling beauty stock or products.
Otherwise the same products wouldn't be sitting on the shelf collecting dust going out of date.

Manager turning clients down.

Manager failing to provide hospitality services to hotel guest refusing to provide dressing gown at minutes to 6pm to clients / hotel guests.
Salon closes at 6pm.
No evening treatments for hotel guests paying good money to stay over night.
Due to spa therapist can't be bothered.

Lack duty of care for clients

Most disgusting, devastating experience I have ever had.

Manager on holiday more than she is at work.
Manager has mental health problem with excuses such as panic attacks. 🙄
Not fit for the job no responsibility taken for their behaviour
Uneducated manager thinking they can do what ever they want even if it is against the law and gross miss conduct.

Not fair on other staff members having to deal with the behaviour and lack of responsibility.
Forced out of a contract job due to childish toxic behaviour.

As a Beauty Therapist or Spa Therapist your appearance should be Imaculate at all times not scruffy or worn down.
Especially representing sprawton mannor.
Unattractive maliouse abusive behaviour.
Being a spa therapist is an attractive job that other girls wish to be in.

The staff take their jobs for granted in all areas.
Cocky the manager is Especially for 25 years old who lives at home with their mother.
Who pays all of her bills and car so she can go on holiday..

No one is interested in such a toxic childish manipulative environment.

More experienced spa therapist's out there with higher qualities, more self respect & dignity.

A more feminine manager with a softer touch and personality would be perfect for the role.

More feminine means less toxic masculinity after all your ment to be a beauty / spa therapist.

Wasting time & money
Don't forget slander and malicious communications.

Disgusting behaviour

Disgusting and no response to complaints

My dad had died in Scarborough hospital, where I'd been several days and nights. I was exhausted and I needed somewhere comfortable to wash and sleep.

I booked the suite at the Scarborough Grand. I knew the building would be crumbly and the decor dated.

But I did not expect the room to come with other guests' rubbish including used tissues and disposable cups, clumps of hair coming from the vent in the jacuzzi bath, insect infestation in the bathroom light and carpets, a piece of plastic with nails in that I cut myself on, a broken Nespresso machine, and a host of other nasties.

My card was charged £159 at reception on check in on 7 September - presumably so you can't leave once you see the rooms.

I was exhausted and did not want a confrontation with reception so I emailed Britannia expecting it to sort things out. I've followed up several times but never had any response.

Crumbly and dated is one thing -- unhygienic, dirty and infested is quite something else
