The new Brompton was great, except for three points. 1) The removable pedal was a nuisance, in my view. I didn't find it easy to remove, nor easy to plug into the magnetic holder. At my first free service I got it replaced by the standard pedal that folds flat. 2) I got a puncture in my back wheel within three weeks, despite being generally careful to avoid possible glass pieces etc. It would be good to be offered the option of puncture resistant tyres when we purchase a bike online. I got Marathon Green tyres put on to replace the lighter ones fitted to the new bike. For me avoiding a puncture is a priority, as I find repairing a back wheel puncture hard work. 3) I found that when the bike was folded, and being carried, in a hurry, on a train platform, on two occasions the frame became 'unfolded', ie the front wheel unhooked itself as I jogged along. The bike shop subsequently adjusted something so that, when in folded position, the back wheel was brought up closer to the frame. So it now no longer accidentally 'unhooks'. I have detailed the above specific points. But overall, I do really like my new Brompton. All the above points have now been corrected, but I had to pay for the old-style folding pedal, and I would have preferred to have the puncture resistant tyres from the start, instead of buying them subsequently. I did like the light racing-type saddle that came with the bike.
