That's the way to do it. Defiantly a five star rating from pressing the button to delivery. Dispatched in a couple of hours (Saturday evening) to arrival on Tuesday with lots of emails and delivery messages in between. I held back a little due to first time but I will always be checking in future for offers.

First time buyer from Browns Books, as they appear to be a fairly new site? At least, I'd never heard of them until sometime last week, when I ordered a 4K films off them.

Some of the negative reviews on here did put doubts in my mind about them, but as PayPal was an option and provides a month's buyer protection, I thought I'd give them a try.

There are complaints on here about stock for items being shown as available until you register an account, then it says out of stock. I didn't encounter this. The site claimed they had 144 in stock of the 4K film (RoboCop 4k Arrow Video) before and after registration, although that inordinately have high number did strike me a suspect and probably inaccurate.

But at the end of the day, my first time buying experience was a positive. I placed the other mid-week last week, and it came today. The base price for the item was decent, offset by the fairly dear P&P charges (£3.95 3-5 business days under £50, free delivery over £50, £5.95 for 1-2 business days), but even after taking delivery charges into account, it was competitively cheap by comparison to other sellers. Whether that's generally the case for other items I don't know, but if it is, I'll likely buy from here again.

After an extensive search for the keenest price on the ITV crime drama "Shetland series 1-7" i discovered that Browns Books were selling it at the lowest price on the internet.

Never having used the company before, i first read their reviews, which were conflicting to say the least, but i decided to give them a go.

They clearly stated they had the 12disc box set in stock, and making payment through Paypal was ever so quick.

I received a confirmation email, and eventual tracking details, and within three days the brand new box set had arrived, in perfect condition, so i have nothing but good words to say about the company.

Ordered a journal and set of oracle cards. Brilliant speed and quality. Thank you. Price was very comparative too.

Lists items as “available”, then only once you create an account does it change to unavailable. Dishonest scam tactic to get email address. Disappointed. Avoid this company.

They showed a book being available untill after making an account, only to show it unavailable immediately after the account was created

Delivery is always quick and the books packed securely to avoid damage in transit!

10/10 Browns Books!

Advertises books they can't get as "available" so you waste time setting up an account - no guest checkout. Afterwards all you get is an email saying the books aren't available - but they still carry on advertising them. Total scam.

I bought the giftsets for my grandchildren for Christmas. The books were good quality titles and the activities included kept them entertained for hours!
Good value and quick delivery

Ordered a DVD, paid express postage then see a few days later they are no longer honouring express postage? Wait over a week for item, nothing arrives, emailed them, no response.
Basically I believe this company don’t stock the items they sell, in the end I contacted PayPal who refunded me, save your time, buy elsewhere.

I was a bit nervous ordering reading the reviews, but I can only report my own experience, which was great. Items were dispatched within hours of my ordering, and arrived well ahead of schedule. Also keenly priced.

I wish I’d consulted the reviews before buying with this company - I recommend that you don’t. Seconding a previous reviewer’s comments, I found a book on the website that was hard to find and there was an option to place a preorder, it gave an estimated stock arrival date of in a few days time. To reduce the cost of postage I placed an order for another commonly available title, which I could have purchased elsewhere. I assumed that when the book came into stock that both items would be posted together but the commonly available title was posted separately. I kept checking back on the website to see if my other book had arrived yet but I noticed that the stock arrival date kept creeping further back. As it was for a child’s birthday and time sensitive, I contacted customer service for an indication of when the book would be in stock. I was then told that the book was unavailable and there were no plans to restock. On questioning the poor stock management system I was told that the website uses publishers information and that essentially, no one updates these - they are just pulled from another website. If I had not contacted my money would have been kept indefinitely - you would think that upon the point of packaging the available part of the order, they would have refunded automatically the forever out of stock item. But no! I had to request a refund and when I asked for refunded postage they said no as the other book had been delivered. No goodwill gesture by way of apology, barely any apology at all - just a comment that I was clearly upset and they hoped it wasn’t an inconvenience! Yes Browns, it is annoying and inconvenient to deal with a company who are essentially hoping you forget that you paid them and have no stock management and no customer service. Much improvement needed - I try to not order from Amazon but don’t use this company. John Sandoe is great - they don’t take payment until they confirm that the title is available

I published the book Elsie Gilding A Life Well Lived. Browns are advertising this for sale at £35 a fictitious figure! They have nomright to sell this book, I have all the available stock and Browns will NOT be supplied. Surely this activity is fraudulent.

This company advertises items as available but not in stock. They take payment and then refund by informing you the items are not available. In my experience with Browns Books they took payment for dvds where the actual supplier had gone into liquidation some weeks prior.

Perfect! Good to be able to talk with someone re my order and very promptly delivered! I don’t normally leave reviews but sometimes you need to pat the company on the back for a great service!
