BTNet order delayed by over 4 months & still outstanding. Updates are not forthcoming, so i chase them, only to wait over 15 mins 'all our agents are busy & high volume of calls', am I surprised ? with shoddy organisation & service. I should have gone to Daisy Comm or other. I asked to cancel but was told that as you are in contract, we can't. How long do they expect me to wait ? !!!

Lies upon lies upon lies

Lies upon lies upon lies. 6 months of constant lies, do not trust a single word they say. Even if something is in a contract, unless you're willing to go to court then don't trust the paperwork either. They will waste hours, days, weeks, months of your time. BT Local Business will make promises that BT Business cannot keep, and vise versa, they so busy warring with each other that the customer will always lose.

Stay away from them!

15 days to have a problem fixed. 15 days without telephone line. Problem fixed in few minutes after 15 days of calls and emails. When I called to fill a formal complain, they said that anyway it'll go no were, as the problem has anyway been fixed. Stay away from these people if you have to work, they make problems to your business and stop answering calls.

Abysmal customer service

I have never experienced such poor customer service in 25 years in IT. Abysmal doesn’t even come close.
Ordered a 500Mb leased line. All went well until the engineer came to fit it and found their managed Meraki switch would be sitting in front of our own firewall and said this would cause problems. I confirmed this with the supplier/support of our firewall.
He then left the BT switch in the box it came in, and left.
Since then I have had bills for the non-working system and threats of legal action if we did not pay.
I was never added as an authorised person to speak to BT Billing though, so I could never actually get past security to query the bills.
BT Local Business were a black hole where all communication disappeared and was never heard from again.
Occasionally someone would be available to talk to me at which point I was assured it would all be sorted, and nothing would happen.
I was promised engineers next week, that I would be put on the authorised list, that the Meraki wouldn’t cause problems.
All turned out to be lies.
We’re now being disconnected for non-payment (which is not a bad thing after all this) but are being billed the full rental for the 5 year period.
BT Local Business take messages, assuring someone will call me back, but nothing. I have repeatedly asked for details of management but none is given.
I have time and time over the last 5 months asked for the billing to be put on hold while this is sorted, to be added to the list of authorised people (apparently there are 4 ‘Marks’ on the account, but none of them actually match the one Mark who does work here).
No one either can, or will speak to me.

Avoid. Literally any other company is better than this.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS - BIGGEST WASTE OF TIME
Ordered BT broadband & phone service for a new business which was cancelled by them twice. Was then billed for a service they cancelled. Spent almost 3 hours on the phone over various calls to try and resolve from beginning to end. The total lack of professionalism, communication and failed systems & bureaucracy of this company is beyond anything you can imagine. A complete & utter disaster of a service.

BT Local Swizzness

The Herts and Essex office are no better than photocopier salesmen (sorry photocopier salesmen, but you know who you are). Oversell services you neither need nor want "because it's cheaper this way" which inevitably turns out to not be true. Avoid at all costs.

BEWARE OF THE PEOPLE AT BT BUSINESS LOCAL - CHESHIRE

Beware of these people. We have been contacted by 3 different people from BT Business local, to the point of complete harrassment. We have told them not to contact us but still they persist. They are scaremongering - they also told me we had to sign up for a minimum of 60 months. I rang the Bt Business number from the website and spoke to someone really helpful. He confirmed that we do need to change over to fibre that it is not necessary to do it immediately and we wont loose our number - despite the BT Local people telling us this. Also he said that we could have a 24 month contract and it was cheaper then the 60 months that they were trying to get us to sign up for. Complete mis selling and harassment, PLEASE be very careful of these people. My advise is to deal with BT direct through their website.

Beware: BT Local Business is NOT BT, Just a BT Sanctioned SCAM

These people are NOT BT but will call you out of the blue and try to get you to sign up to a five year contract for BT services.

I was called by someone called Mayurigan Kirupakaran who knew the details of my existing service with BT, so I initially assumed that he was from BT.

At no point in the conversation did he tell me that he is in fact from a company called Southern UK Communications Ltd, which 'represents' BT. I only discovered this later when I did some further investigation after receiving his e-mail, which seemed suspicious to me.

The deals offered by these BT Local Business companies, which can be set up by virtually anyone as far as I can see, are inferior to the deals offered direct by BT and the salesmen try to cajole you into committing to a five year contract by promising big discounts.

The aim, it seems, is to sell people more kit than they need for the longest possible commitment period. Note that standard BT contracts are two years, whilst these people offer five year contracts for the 'best discount'.

To my mind, BT Local Business is a scam, designed to trap the unsuspecting and I hate to think how many people have been fooled into signing up with these people.

Presumably there's something in the small print of existing BT contracts that allows BT to pass businesses' details to third parties, but I suspect that most would not agree to this if given a straightforward choice.

Conmen - Crooks - Mis-selling

Much the same as other people on here I was unwillingly placed in to a new 60 month contract without my knowledge. I was offered a free covid upgrade that would make no difference to my existing contract. When I moved premises I was hit with a £5000 bill for cancellation even though I thought I was almost out of contract. Currently pursuing through Ombudsman and Courts. AVOID!!!!!

Watch these guys they are sneaky they do work for BT but sneak 60 month contracts in. Cancel whatever you signed and go direct to BT avoid at all costs they are legitimate BT but scamming for commissions on longer contracts and different terms and their sales technique is just tell you its same as you have but cheaper when its not the same at all.

If you can give a minus I would. Hard sell re. moving from copper to cloud based systems, didn't follow through and I find that Open Reach have no plans to put the kit into ouR area, in other words miss sold contract. It is impossible to get out of the contract as no one at BT will take responsibility or follow through. AVOID , AVOID

They are not BT beware!

This relates to the Wedt Yorkshire Office. My experience was of a hard sell approach and a lack of transparency in that they don’t make it clear they are not BT. I feel I was bounced into taking out contracts for our sites and some of what they told me was not true. I was told my contract was coming to an end when I didn’t have a contract with them, I actually had it with our IT supplier. I felt so pressured and worried about loosing the service that I went along with being rushed into signing in a time frame that meant I didn’t properly read the terms and conditions and it’s fair to say that no attempt was made to draw my attention to minimum terms and COU increases, I think I only got a month at the quoted orice. The paperwork to set up my new account was handled incorrectly and instead of setting up an account for the services
I was purchasing they added the new contracts to our IT suppliers account and this isn’t resolved yet and I raised the problem 3 months ago. I will never use BT again and intend to raise the matter of potential misrepresentation of the real ownership of BT local with trading standards. It is fair to say this has caused me many sleepless nights and will cost me a fortune in cancellation fees as I don’t need one of the contracts due to closing an office i was not told that unlike residential I would be stuck paying if I vacated an office, again it’s in the terms but it was incredibly hard to find and even harder to cost what the charge will be. I have one positive in that two of the staff at BT local did try and help sort out the billing issue but the real BT wouldn’t speak to them or email them to get the full facts which might have helped solve the billing issue sooner as the real BT simply couldn’t and can’t seem to grasp what has happened. Neither BT local nor real BT seem to have a robust complaints process and in future I will be asking all potential suppliers to provide with their policy before I sign up. Finally I also feel I was mislead into believing that BT Local would be my point of contact and that I would have a helpful account manager as that is what the sales staff are titled but in reality once the ink is dry on the contract it is over to the call centre who in my experience lack any accountability and have no real interest in doing anything other than finding a way to close a case. The call centre also push for telephone contact, cynically I think this may be because there is no written record of what us said as different agents seem to say different things. I do think to be fair BT are as much if not more to blame than BT local for the misrepresentation of the status of BT local as they clearly allow them to use lots of BT branding and the real ownership is hard to spot unless you are actively looking for it.

LOCAL CONS

Put a voice Sip Line order in on the 6th oct 2022. It wasn't completed at all. My contract with previous advisor finished on 24th May 2023. I told them that. Still more delays. Resulted in me losing my business line. I had to go back to my old provider and restart. BT Local are the biggest bunch of con artists.
Still arguing with them. Still no phone call back. DO NOT USE THEM! BIGGEST MISTAKE YOU WILL EVER MAKE.
