I ordered a Dutch bike from Budget Bike, online, and I am extremely satisfied. The communication went smooth, they were fast in answering, helpful and professional. They accepted to ship the bike to Sweden, which arrived well protected and in perfect condition
In short, go elsewhere. Bought a Popal e-bike from their store last year. Service since has been appalling and unprofessional. Went in recently as my bike wasn’t turning on and it takes over 2 weeks to get looked at. I call enquiring what’s the issue and if any reason its taking so long to get told it’s at another centre and we’re not sure when its coming back. Then after further calls get told I’ll receive a text when its ready. Days later no text so I call again and same spiel just wait for the text, then suddenly oh it’s here we forgot to send the text! Went to collect and enquire what was the reason for the issue with my bike that took 2 weeks to fix out of curiosity, unfortunately the shop worker had started last week and had no clue what had been done to the bike. Transpires a simple cable fix.
Soon after collecting the bike I heard a noise coming from the chain. On investigation the rear gear cable was rubbing against it. Unbelievable considering it had just been in for 2 weeks for a cable fix! Returned to the shop and reluctantly handed it back in. Going on 3 weeks in total now and call asking when it’ll be ready. Person I spoke to had started a couple days ago this time so was again unable to help much but was reassured I’ll get a text when its ready. Next minute I’m told it’s here and we forgot to send the text (again!).
In fairness to Budget Bike I was offered 1 free service and reduced services for the 1st year when I bought the bike. However was unimpressed with the way they handled a mechanical issue shortly after purchase and only returned with my recent mechanical problem as it was under warranty. After this latest poor handling and customer service episode I simply cannot recommend this shop to anyone. Save the hassle and go elsewhere.
