What a great customer service experience from two counter guys (Chris & Sam) Both engaging & polite all the time I've been down there. Having dealt with others merchants in the area...I've gotta say I've never felt so looked after! Always help me with any queries etc. Due to recent health issues & not being so mobile they always help me carry what material I've required to my vehicle when needed also! Great work guys

I had never heard of Buildbase until my builder gave me a catalogue. I am now happy to say that I am, and will always use Buildbase. I just wanted to say that your range, products, prices, delivery & service are fantastic... Your staff at the Harlow Store are a credit to your company so helpful, other large companies do not come close to the excellence in service your team provides.

Dreadful service from the Exeter branch of Buildbase, to cut a long story short, called for some brick prices and delivery timings but got a very rude response, the lady I spoke to was very disinterested, she took my name and number and said she'd look into it and call me back in an hour - 3 days later and no phone call.
Hopeless service. I won't bother calling again - useless.

i contacted the local branch on monday 1st april and was told by michael proctor that delivery would be arranged for the next day 2nd april i have heard nothing to say when or even if i will ever get this delivered .
After leaving this review I was contacted and this was sorted straight away

Ordered 8 bricks from Oxford Cowley branch in early Feb and paid £23 incl delivery. Bricks never arrived so I cancelled order and asked for a refund. Was called by a man a few weeks ago telling me he'd refund me but I have not received any refund and Buildbase are now ignoring my emails. Don't touch Buildbase with a bargepole!

Ordered some bricks on 14th march by online. It's been 10 days and nothings arrived so called the bow branch to cancel the order. The guy couldn't find my order or order number and said I was probably Highgate branch. I said no, my invoice says bow branch. I asked for headquarters number and called them. I was angry as my money's been taken but no one's taking ownership of my order.

HR said the bow manager needs to issue a refund as transferred me back. I spoke to the manager and he did find my order but said my order got overlooked. I basically didn't get dealt with because the staff deal with telephone orders mainly and not online orders. How ridiculous for 2019!

So I asked to cancel it and he said he will call back in 5 minutes which he didn't so I called back after an hour. I wanted to know if it's been cancelled. He said it has but they don't know who should issue the refund- His store or HR! So they're figuring that out whilst I get stuck in limbo waiting for my refund. Sounds quite ridiculous really. Not how things should be run. Order number 97312976

We spent 17,000 on a kitchen 14 out of 25 units arrived damaged, key wall of units didn’t fit as designer had measured wrong so design not capable of being fitted, over three weeks delay, they ordered a single oven rather than double oven unit, left hand opening cupboard rather than right so you couldn’t physically get into it, designer only came out once at the insistence of my fitters, no instructions given on how kitchen went together - absolute disaster - do not use under any circumstances. Designer has also been proven to have not told truth

I have been visiting buildbase in Oakham for a while now but the office seems to be going very down hill. Every time I go in most of the office staff seem to be more interested in sitting on their mobile phones than attending to my
Business... not what I expect as a customer. There are plenty of them so I would expect faster service especially if I am between jobs and a customer is expecting me at an arranged time. The Young man Daniel whom I believe is the assistant manager is the one that always helps in the office, he seems to be incredibly proactive . If all the staff at oakham depot were all like this young man coupled with the helpfulness and enthusiasm of the Middle Aged gentleman on the forklift in the yard who is very friendly and always goes out of his way to assist me &
Attend to my requirements in the well organised and very busy yard. Surely staff should work together as a team And not just these two members of oakham staff. Senior Managment should manage this depot in a more proactive manner.
I always looked upon buildbase as a very professional company but Oakham depot please sort out the lapsed staff

I regularly use the Buildbase branch in Braintree Essex and the service I receive there is always second to none. The yard and shop staff are most helpful and nothing is too much trouble. In addition, access to my house is quite difficult for large vehicles and ahead of the first delivery the Guys came and checked how they would negotiate the entrance drive and which of their delivery vehicles would be most suitable. Watching the Buildbase drivers manouvering the trucks into our property is a master class in driving ability!
In addition, the prices at Buildbase always represent value for money.
Highly recommended!

Hello, visited Carluke branch today, 24/1/2019,with just a small order.The lady in the showroom/counter was wonderful but the yard staff were not! It was my first and last time I will use Buildbase. I run my own Lanscaping Business and have been trading for over 35 years and work all over the uk and have never been so called served by staff so ill mannered, even the so called yard manager. It was not just some of the staff in your yard it was everyone I approached about getting served!

It is all about the service. I ordered 3 bags of PLUM SLATE from the Harlow Branch. The item was priced competitively , I was kept informed by the branch regarding delivery. The item was delivered on time. The staff I dealt with from branch to delivery were very helpful. What else would you want?

SWINTON BUILDBASE
Internet showed they had stock of what I wanted. As it entails an hour's drive through a notorious traffic blackspot I phoned to confirm it was available. Having been told there was plenty of stock I made the journey - only to be told they sold the last on the previous day.
I told them I had phoned and been told there was stock and the internet showed stock which they found really amusing and told me to take no notice of the internet.
I then drove the hour home without the stock they assured me was available.
Needless to say - until the buffoons running Buildbase Swinton are replaced with competent staff I will use alternative suppliers.

Skegness Kitchens I booked an appointment with Karen to view my farmhouse which is being fully renovated. We wanted ideas, plans and prices for the kitchen diner and two bathrooms. She arrived and immediately stated should could do anything as the walls were not plastered and would only come out to view when the walls are plastered. I replied they are not done yet as we need to design the areas and were not sure on where items etc would be placed. She tried to measure the area with an obvious attitude. She then said she did not want to waste ‘her’ time. After a brief chat she also said her boss would be annoyed if she measured and spent time doing designs. I said if her boss would get the hump with a customer then do not bother. She left with the hump. Wow. Great customer service? Great start!! This is the second time we had an issue with build base staffs attitude at this branch and this is why we refused to originally open an account. Will they get our money? I will leave you to decide! Terrible attitude and no customer service skills.

Build base Banchory Aberdeenshire Ordered 6 1ton bags of red granit chuckies and arranged delivery at 0800 . Lorry turned up bang on time and managed a great job of offloading into my garden with out holding up the traffic . Great job as not easy delivery .

i will not use them anymore. im so angry .i have been in and used them for years just trusting them to get the prices right for me,but i have been checking the invoices lately only to find that they are so dear i just cant use them any more, for example 8/4 sheet 18mm osb 30.76 plus vat..!!!!
thats mad .i can walk in to wickes and pay 24.21 inc vat as jo public
after years and years going in most weeks. i thought when i called to point this out they would sort it,but all i got was b s,its not the same ,,oh yes it is.im gutted,not even an apology.i ve spend thousands and thousands with them.

Ordered 7 jumbo bags of sand and agg from Oakham and asked for them to be delivered early on the day I had off work with hire equipment and slabs sorted from other suppliers. Hastened at 1430 but the phone rang out. At 1700 I chased again to be told the driver had been held up on another site and couldn’t deliver that day. Frustrated beyond belief as I used the more expensive buildbase for the order as they could make that delivery slot. Suppose I shouldn’t be surprised as I had a similar issue last time I ordered from them but at least that time I got the order late that evening after chasing.

Both Nev & Karen came across as champions for customer service and you should be very proud of them. I myself work for Anglian Water and we pride ourselves on a high level of service, this is proven by finishing No.1 water company. As part of our own strategy we are also expected to pass feedback to others who provide the same level of service. Please pass on our thanks to both a Nev & Karen at Skegness, I do hope you are able to reward your staff on occasions like this? It’s something we promote within our own structure to say thank you for making today great. Last time I personally experienced this level of customer service outside my own working structure was from Apple and if you base your level of service alongside that then your in an excellent place

Very helpful staff, friendly service and haven't had a major issue in 8 years that wasn't sorted promptly.

Excellent work since the quote till the delivery.... I bought a couple of bulk bags of sand and after a short market comparison I realised they were the cheap of it. phone the Basildon depot and I was Polite and professional answered and very quick with the price. delivery was even better... they were very punctual and by my mistake the first vehicle was not big enough to delivery. 1 phone call to the office and within 25 minutes my delivery was dropped. I Highly recommend the Basildon depot. Continue with your EXCELLENT work. Office and drivers 5 stars....
