Gary at Harlow build base could not of been more helpful. Very impressive customer service primarily from him but paul and a young lady were also very helpful and courteous.
Good experience and helpful and very happy with the outcome and ops boards delivered for flooring. Will definitely come back if need too in the future.

The Wisbech branch have been excellent. I contacted Lynsey with my query for a bulk delivery of shingle and she was so helpful. My query was that I needed the delivery to be lifted over a six foot fence which was done with no problems whatsoever. The delivery itself was smooth and the driver ensured he placed the bag exactly where I wanted it.

Made a click and collect order at the Gloucester branch. I ordered 20 2.4m boards which were tongue and groove type. It said on the website that the boards were in stock so I ordered them. I waited for an email to go and pick up my order but didn’t received anything for 2 days so I phoned them and they told me my order was ready all of a sudden. When I arrived at buildbase I went to the desk and said I had a click and collect order. They told me I had to go round to the warehouse to pick it up. When I go round to the warehouse I spoke to a man about my ores who didn’t seem to understand what was written down but figured it out. He went to get the boards but they were 3.6m lengths and I said I ordered 2.4m and they won’t fit in or on my car. He only had 10 of these anyway so wouldn’t of been enough. He said do I want to take them or get a refund. I said I would like a refund and they gave me one. The thing that annoyed me the most is there was no apology and they didn’t really seem to care.

Visited your Kenilworth branch on Saturday 19th December. The lad out in the yard was very helpful and busy. Went inside and waited.....got served then he decided to go on his phone not once but repeatedly.....maybe he's really important... I don't know. All I do know is that maybe you should put the lad in the yard serving and give him a job in your phone center. So I put the product back and went somewhere else. Never used this branch before and certainly won't use it again.

I would give zero stars if I could. Ordered a single kitchen cabinet door back in July, 4 months later still have not heard back from Buildbase Bow. Have been chasing up every few weeks and been promised everytime that order will be ready to collect soon. Still no communication! I'm ordering else where, what a waste of my time!

A waste of time emailing Buildbase at Weston-super-Mare for prices as they do not respond. When you call to remind them they promise to get back to you but fail to do so. This branch obviously does not want your trade.

Buildbase Rushden - No Base for customer service! I've ordered 22 plasterboards and 3 insulated plasterboards. The order was delivered on a pallet way too narrow that the truck's straps has been eating into the boards. Sensibly, I only asked for replacements of just 2 boards.

(Whoah...! I paid full price for these items so I expected a fully working product. And why should I make my work longer because of your shortcoming?

- ''We'll give you 20% discount on the damaged goods''
(oh really... is my labour £/hour = circa £10? to fix this. And again why do I have to make do with your damaged products when I paid full price for these. I would have gone to a second hand shop if that's what I wanted)
So I've asked for a replacement and was told after several communications that these were not available.
Now their easiest option is to take the 2 boards back for a refund and I am left to outsource these elsewhere before I can commence the work.
Your sales specialist said the van will be coming in the next few hours to collect the damaged items. So basically I am expected to be at the delivery address forever until the van arrives because I have nothing else to do until then.
A big let down as a first time customer. I can't believe the initial response I got and the actual resolution you came up with, which has been nowhere useful.
I think I'll stick with other builder merchants.

I ordered four lintels and paid up front for them. I couldn't get hold of anyone regarding the delivery date. I kept asking for a date for over a week but kept being told I'll get a call back, I didn't. I managed to speak to someone eventually and I cancelled the order. Despite numerous phone calls and emails I am still waiting for my money a month later! Just received a phone call from a very obnoxious lady about my refund who then told me I shouldn't have ordered them through another branch because its confusing even though I hadn't, I rang a number, how do I know where they are!! Let's see if I get my refund. Stay away from this company, they are obviously more important than their customers!
Thank you for your reply but I will not contact you as I have wasted enough time on this, let's see if this rude lady, I think she's at the Bolton branch gives me my refund. It's the first time I have used your company and definitely the last.

Sent an email for a brick match for '3' projects which are valued at around 80k in materials. Buildbase website states that a contact will be made within 48hrs. 10 days later still not heard a thing. I've decided to take my take my business to MKM instead. Not impressed at all and I've been a long term account holder for a few years. Get your act together buildbase.

We bought bulk bags of the MOT sub base, we ended up needing two deliveries given our own poor estimates. But Buildbase was quick with both deliveries, the drivers friendly and the product itself good quality for value.

Buidbase (rentbase) customer service from there manager Luke Davies was absolutely poor. I would never recomend Build Hire in Postsmouth to any person. Misleading information and to double charge cutomers for equipment is not the way to manage a business.

Placed an order on the 29th of October. As I had received no contact from them for 5 days, I emailed the local Bow branch to cancel the order. Zero response.
I emailed Buildbase again on the 5th of November - I emailed the Oxford branch as the website kept returning me to the 'Contact Us' page - asking for a refund and, again, no response. After the website gave me the run-around when trying to complain, the non response to 2 emails makes sense now: we take your money then, who cares?
It looks like I will have to take action to get my money back. I will avoid this company like the plague in future: a very unprofessional way to conduct your business.

Poor service and pathetic online customer chat service, I priced an item online checked it was in stock at my local depot got the price was about to pay for click and collect but then decided to go down to the store and purchase with a few other items, after checking my receipt they had charged me double the online price and on the receipt it said quantity 2 even though I only purchased one,I went back in store to ask but was told the price was correct, so I thought I would try the online chat service for advice I spoke to man called Martin useless to say the least he said he was unable to check the online price & anyway local depots can charge what they want for items they don’t have to stick to the online price, what kind of rip off policy is that, so after a short unhelpful chat he ended the chat by saying I will look into It and get back to you soon but as expected never did, if this is your policy trading standards need to be contacted, my first visit to Buildbase an my experience They are Dishonest unhelpful and the worst customer services I’ve ever experienced.

Went to Braintree buildbase on 22nd Oct to place a £300 order for delivery I was told by the sales women that my order was far to small for delivery, after using buildbase for many years I won’t be going back there , I
placed my order with EH Smith and got my delivery next day

The Earl Shilton branch could never be described as good in the past 10 years but the latest experience eclipses even the usual Zombie Central experience!
Ordered replacement toilet cystem using the on line system. Everything confirmed by email and I was advised to await a call to arrange collection by 5th september from Earl Shilton. I called (many times) - never answered. I emailed - never answered. Went in today and eventually the guy behind the counter left his game and I explained that I needed a refund as the goods not supplied. I asked why the phone was not answered and was told they were too busy - 3 staff in the shop and there was nobody there at the time and I doubt I have seen more than 2 people there more than twice in 10 years. Apparently the order was not received as it had not been forwarded by the ex manager, similarly the reason no reply to my email.
I am now awaiting the promised refund from the 'on line team' which has been received within 24 hours!
I will not be going back - even when they did manage to deliver some insulation ( fulfilled by another branch) it was soaking wet and had to be laid out to dry before use.
