Poor service and a poor attitude.
Won't be using ever again for their delivery.

The guys at buildbase Pulham Market are fantastic and really need to be kept open, they work hard and always get what we want

The buildbase people at Norwich are no good at all we ordered 3 pallets on block and six bags of cement, they only delivered 2 pallets of blocks and no cement!!!

Very happy with the Chesterfield branch. Excellent customer service. I accidently left an item off my online order. Rang them the next day and they added the item to the delivery no problem. Fast and efficient service and delivery. Would recommend.

I placed an order back on the 5th June (reference 98720587) and patiently waited for some form of contact. I heard nothing.

I call last week 25th June and am told the one of the items I ordered isn't sold by my local branch, they can't get it. WHY THE HELL DID NOBODY CONTACT ME TO TELL ME THIS SOONER!!!!

I agree a different product and am told "it will be delivered next Wednesday".

4pm yesterday, nothing. I call the branch and am told "we've got you down for Thursday, It'll definitely be Thursday, tomorrow".

I patiently wait today until 4pm and still nothing. I call the branch and after 9 attempts the call is answered. I am told by John in Transport that he's trying to get hold of the driver and will get back to me.

It's now past 5:30, the branch is now closed, I don't expect a call and I certainly don't expect my promised delivery.

Frankly, this experience has been attrocious and even given the benefit of the doubt around Covid-19, I'm lost for words. My project has stopped, I'm paying people that were scheduled to work and Buildbase just go quiet.

UPDATE: After making a public scene on Social Media, they finally made a delivery today. They complained about a lack of drivers due to illness and a lack of vehicles due to breakdowns.

Nobody obviously knows how to use a phone or email to tell customers about orders they're expecting being delayed.

And the final nail in the coffin? They only delivered part of the order, there's stuff missing!!!!! What an absolute joke.

The only problem I had with this company was a small one, I phoned to ask if I could order and arrange a delivery date for a month later the lady on the phone was very polite and said that wouldnt be a problem so went ahead and placed my order just to get a phone call 3 days later saying we have this thursday or this friday we can't hold your order for a month. A bit of an inconvenience but got the stuff delivered any way. The products are of good quality the wood I ordered was really nice, no complaints there. Delivery was simple the driver was polite and left the items where we wanted. I will most definitely use them again for wood.

Had three deliveries over three weeks. All good great service. One small mix up with my address on first drop but soon sorted. Very friendly and polite service on phone and driver on delivery.

Ordered some grout during lockdown, got a call very promptly to collect on a specific day at a specific time, thought great. Then it went downhill. Collected the grout, got it home, found that the vacuum sealed bag was open and the grout had gone off, so returned to store. No problem, will replace, but none on stock. Was told by two of the staff that they would contact me when the grout arrived. A month later, and several phone calls made by me to them, still no grout and told that the company no longer manufactured it, so I asked for a refund, no problem. I sent an E-mail to cover myself, cannot rely on just phone calls with companies in general and then got a call later in the day ( wonders ), we can get you some. Pity it was not sorted sooner. Had already ordered some on-line form another supplier and that came in a couple of days. My biggest issue with this supplier is that they did not get in touch with me once, except after I had requested a refund. Poor customer service

Order just never turned up. No one picked up telephone and no response to email.

Avoid this company if possible!

Absolutely awful company. I ordered Geofix online during lockdown and was told to contact them for collection. I kept ringing, wrote to them in many occasions and I haven't got the goods. Currently recovering this money from my credit card company. DO NOT USE !!!!!

During lockdown online orders only, thats fine, everyone is doing the same except they are all doing it better.
I didnt realise they were operating this way until I went to store. OK no problem I'll order online for a collect slot. Ordered my stuff and waited for a confirmation slot. I waited over 45 minutes and nothing. In that time period only one customer entered the yard, so I guess they were really busy.
Went home, waited, got close to their closing time and I decided to cancel the order (They already had my money). Sent the relevant email that came with the first computer gen email and still no reply. At the moment I think my order is cancelled, I think they will return my money but as yet........

Just dropping a few words about my local Buildbase in Sudbury Suffolk, fantastic service, I had my kitchen designed and planned by the lovely Debbie and I can not fault anything, everyone involved was so friendly, answered any questions i had and helped me get a dream kitchen from start to finish on the budget I had, no pressure selling, just listened to my needs and ideas and built me a beautiful kitchen. Will always recommend this company.

BuildBase/ HireBase Portsmouth are terrific! Friendly, helpful and professional. HireBase floor sanders are ace quality (and CLEAN!) in comparison to others locally. Terrific staff working in trying times with a friendly smile. All products purchased are top notch and at a very fair price!!! will DEFINITELY use again! Thanks to the Pompey lads!!!

6 weeks waiting for refund. Branch closed so can't go in person.. No response.. No one cares... You're lucky you getting one star.

NEEDED SAND AT SHORT NOTICE AND THEY COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE HELPFULL.SUPERB CUSTOMER SERVICE AT GLASGOW BLOCHAIRN

Rang and ordered three sheets of reinforcing paid and told delivery end of the week- received a call advising lorry couldn't deliver as its 26 tons despite Buildbase delivering here before, refuse trucks ship lorry's and cement wagons accessing the road here with no problem. now waiting for Friday.
now getting it delivered down the road and carrying it home - and told no more deliveries to this post code
*** Update having waited all morning for a delivery 2 weeks after it was ordered telephoned the branch phone rang out twice on third attempt was told driver at lunch - cancelled delivery and will find somewhere who may remotely show an interest and who may actually be able to deliver the goods.
*** Even better - 10 minutes after ringing the depot went outside and found 3 sheets of reinforcing and a Driver I asked where his lorry was and he said parked down the road as the Depot had told him to do "I don't know why, I drive up these roads all day long "
He had just finished the morning drops and mine was last as it was on the bottom of the load - really nice bloke and he had carried the three sheets up the road - so alls well that ends well only hope I get that driver again.

Didn’t get the guys name at Hatton Store but very helpful. Didn’t have what I thought I wanted but he found me a cheaper alternative of what I actually needed!! Delivery next week. Josh online was great too and let me know about Military Discount which was a real added bonus. Thanks team!

Just spoke to stevie at whitburn buildbase who has no customer service at all i placed an online order with them yesterday evening everything was fine online no problems, no mension of any delay and the payment of £410.71 was taken from my account there and then, i thought great thinking it would get delivered end of next week or thereabouts then i recieve an email saying due to high demand my delivery would be till friday the 29th of june which didnt make any sence to me as the 29th of june is actually a monday so i called to speak to a colin jack and ended up with this stevie when i procedeed to tell that there was no mention of a delay on the website and the money should not have been taken from my account before the order was processed, i was told it was not him that took the money from my account and did i want a refund to which i replied yes and the phone was then put down on me what a great advertisement and sales rep for buildbase and thank you for leaving me waiting for my £410.71 money that i need to order my materials elsewhere i will never use or recommend buildbase ever again

Martin in store very knowledgeable and handy to advise and helpful. Price compared are also affordable.
Mark the driver very friendly chap have them delivered next day.

Misleading and Confusing Data on a Product - then BB say I'm the one at fault.

I ordered some CLS timber online from Buildbase (Thrapston)
The website clearly states the size in bold print at the top of the website 50 x 75 x 2.4m. So, in good faith I ordered 8 pieces.

They arrive at 38 x 60 x 2.4. So naturally I query it. Buildbase say - this is the 'nominal size' - They said I'm at fault because right at the bottom of the page it says 'Finished size 38 x 63'.

Unfortunately for me, when the error was noticed the day after; my wife had already painted them - so BB won't take the stock back.

Where is the sense in advertising a product [complete with the size] in hefty bold print at the top of the web page - then the product turns out to be something totally different - it makes no logical sense whatsoever.

It's akin to ordering size 9 shoes and receiving size 7.
Thanks to BB for £80 wasted.

Just spoke with Gary at Buildbase Peckham Branch - what an absolute star - sorted out some products for me that I had real trouble trying to source - but he did it all with no hassle. Well done Gary!!! Ready to collect tomorrow - always easy to complain but credit should be given when due.
