I phoned them because one of the hinges in my kitchen units broke. Simon came out the following day (13th November) with a pair of hinges and replaced them satisfactorily.

Simon and Jo are simply amazing. The work they did was fantastic. Highly highly recommend.

Great company. Has done couple of jobs for us recently. Painted bathroom and replaced extractor.

Great work by Simon, he replaced my leaking stopcock and fitted the waste pipe to my sink and then came late the following day to install the boiler for my new instant hot water tap. This job wasn’t planned for and he didn’t leave until about 8 pm. Very happy with outcome. Very reasonably priced. 5 stars. Will definitely recommend him. Thank you Simon and Jo for keeping me informed of Simon’s eta.

Simon did an amazing job on my front garden. Rendering the wall, painting and slab pathway. Looks beautiful. Lots of compliments from people walking past.

We had a very bad experience with this company. We had then come and quote various jobs around the house in an itemised way so we could decide what we would do. When the quoted us we did not negotiate any prices we accepted the ask for every job and informed them on which of these we wanted them to do. Initially there was a bit of a delay in their communication but this is normally understandable especially in a busy environment. It took them a while to arrange dates around their availability but we booked that they were coming on the 10th of July to work for a few days and get the work done. In between that time and the 10th we had a leak in the house and we called S & D to come and have a look if they could. Simon came and said we needed to change the silicone around the shower, he would come at 4:30 the same day and quoted us £40. Apparently there was a delay in the previous job (message received around 13:30) and he would be late. When he did not show up we called and noone answered, we then emailed and received an email saying that Simon ate something and was not feeling well so he would not be able to come, he would come the following day. He indeed came the following day, also we were made very aware by Jo who is apparently managing the communication that they "normally charge £60 and not £40 for sealant work" I said that is what we were quoted by Simon when he came and saw it. Simon completed the work with extra care and was very nice and attentive. I asked him to pay him on the spot either cash or transfer and he said "it is fine we will send you the invoice you can pay tonight". The same night and while i was driving home (around 21:30) I received a text message asking if I had received the invoice. I saw the message when i went home and an email that was sent to me around 22:00 and I answered I had not. Jo said she would send it again. I queried the price £54 and she explained it was £40 + the materials used. I paid the invoice and paid extra £10 as she had mentioned that they usually charge £60 and I did not want any bad blood between us. However the leak was still there, Simon came to see it and talked to us about next steps. He said "as I will be on site on the 10th this is what we will do and it will cost you £40 to £50 a maximum of £60. It would have been a different price if I was coming only for this job". The same night I received a quote from Jo for £110. I queried that without getting any specific answers I tried calling but no answer. I emailed but nothing came out of it. Next Day Simon was supposed to be with us at 8:30 to start the work. My wife saw Simon and Jo in their car at the corner of our house at 8:50am and we thought they were going to get the materials and come. They did not show up and when i emailed as there was no answer to the call, I was told something urgent came up and SImon cannot make it today. Starting loosing faith I said that is fine but we would have expected to be informed. We were promised communication through the day to explain what happened and we got an apology by email.
Noone called to explain and at night we received a dry email ;ate at night saying Simon would be with us next day at 10:30. I answered that we were expecting them to call us and explain what happened and discuss the quote and we were told Simon will explain face to face as it is better that way. I emailed back saying ok we are sceptical and started losing trust so before we started the work next day we would need to put timeframes and agree everything before we started. Next day while we were waiting for Simon to arrive, (9:18) we received an email saying they were sorry we are sceptical but apparently they are sceptical also, mentioning nonsense reasons that do not exist such as "When Simon came round to help with your leak you didn't let me know until 11.30pm that night that you hadn't received the invoice to pay, despite my texts and emails. Once received you questioned it due to the the price of the materials, I appreciate you sent an extra £10, however Simon quoted you cheaper than normal as you were going to be a customer." which is not true as I only received a message at around 21:30 and an email after and i answered once I got home, as also "Due to this we are also skeptical and don't trust that we will receive payment. Firstly the original quote for your works you haven't actually accepted and paid for any materials. " which us untrue as they never asked us to pay upfront material, and also they never adjusted the quote to include only the jobs we would do or asked us to sign the quote on line. And finally "Unfortunately on this occasion we will not be starting any more works for you."
This after we waited for their availability slightly less than a month. This communication discredits Simon who is good. If you are busy it is more honest to say so and not mistreat customers. Would never work with a company that does not respect customers and lies.

and one of them wasn't screwed properly and my son fell backwards on it as he went to sit down on it, it is now unusable and unsafe, especially with a child.
I reached out to Simon to resolve this and it is stated that there is warranty on any work done. 3 seperate occasions he has said he's going to come back and sort it and all 3 times he hasn't turned up and didn't bother to let me know, I had to keep chasing it up. He last promised to deffo sort again but still nothing.
Did not want to resort to leaving a bad review and thought l'd give it one more chance (after already being messed around twice) but I'm still being messed around, with now no response to messages.
I would've used him again for more work but have now been put off.
I am also looking to escalate this and post on other social media platforms for people to be aware, since it's looking like there will be no resolution through Simon.
Would not recommend if you want a good level of professionalism and high quality work done.

Simon installed new guttering and a downpipe for us which looked very smart. When heavy rain showed there was a problem with the angle of the guttering he was very quick to come back and fix this urgently. We have found the company very efficient, friendly, helpful and polite as well as reasonably priced.

They gave me a good quote to clear my garden (front & back) and put down weedkiller. All looking good.

We recently used S and D Building Services for a range of home improvements, and we’re absolutely delighted with the results. Simon carried out all the work, including installing new garden fencing, replacing our guttering and fascias, hanging 8 internal doors, and fitting a set of new French doors. Everything was done to a high standard with attention to detail.

Simon was professional, friendly, and clearly very skilled — nothing was too much trouble. His partner Jo handled all the admin, ordering materials, and keeping us informed throughout. She was fantastic to deal with and made the whole process so smooth with her clear and timely communication.

It’s hard to find a team that’s so reliable, efficient, and easy to work with. We’re really pleased with the finished results and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend S and D Building Services

Yesterday we found out we had a leak in our roof. Simon from S&D Building Services came round within 24 hours and fixed the problem. Simon was very reassuring at such a stressful time and kept us in the loop all throughout the time he was here.
