bulkbuyfirewood.co.uk is a scam

It is a scam. Avoid at all cost. After the order aroused my suspicion, I was looking for online reviews of buybulkfirewood instead of bulkbuyfirewood - herein is the biggest clue! They sent me the WhatsApp message as others had said. Meanwhile I was on their webchat to find out why their Paypal option didn't activate. On WhatsApp, I eventually told them it all sounded rather suspicious and I would no longer go ahead with the order. They had the cheek to suggest that I pay 50% upfront and 50% at delivery on saturday. That's no way to do business online. I've reported them to WhatsApp and blocked them. They deserve a negative rating but the only way to start a Trustpilot review is with a rating.

Be warned

I went onto Bulkbuyfirewood's web site to place an order for smokeless fuel. The prices were excellent (so much cheaper than any other suppliers, in fact).

However when it came to payment the options were - either credit card/Paypal or bank transfer. I wanted to pay via the former but instead I received only an acknowledgement of the order. Shortly afterwards I received an email saying that if I wanted to proceed with the order I should ask for their bank account details so I could do a bank transfer. This I did and a few minutes later I received those details. And then shortly after that I was contacted by someone with an Asian or African accent asking me if I wanted to place the order.

Interestingly, the call came from a Manchester number even though Bulkbuyfirewood are supposedly based in Edinburgh. I then looked up their reviews on Trustpilot and thankfully cancelled the order. I'm 99% sure this is a scam. It's quite a convincing one though.

Scammers

Scammers do not purchase from this outfit. Coal never turned up and money lost. Wouldn’t reply to messages and then when messaged from another phone they responded straight away as they believed it was a new enquiry.
